Jordan prepared his weapons and let his beasts rest for a bit before the fight begins, he had on himself only the two-handed hammer and several knives behind his belt together with 1l bottle filled with blood strapped to his side.

With everything ready, Jordan went together with 5 randomly chosen dog beasts before the library and then waited, he didn't try to hide his aura and simply waited, in a few second all the beasts inside came out, they stared at Jordan and Jordan stared back, it was time for battle.

Jordan wasn't sure that he can win fairly in 1 v 1 against the big beast, if a normal beast was a phase, level, rank, or whatever at 1 and Max was considered 2 then this beast was about to break into 3, Jordan himself was 2 and a halfway through if he evaluated himself, that was for his body itself if you didn't count his mana that sucked balls.

And to make it worse Jordan wasn´t exactly sure about the beast´s abilities regarding mana, so far the beasts Jordan saw were even superior to some of the awakened humans were, and just with their handling of mana they were considerable foes, right now as almost no one had proper spells they were in fact inferior to the beasts as they could shoot fireball instantly, that was something Jordan couldn´t even imagine doing with his current progress.

If you put all this together Jordan was at quite a big disadvantage but he didn't fret, he had a numerical advantage and several things prepared up in his sleeve, as always wits were human´s well… in Jordan case Demon´s biggest advantage.

The gap between Jordan and the big beast was about 3 meters and Jordan waited for the beast to make the first move, while he looked at the beast with his smile that never left him he began to taunt it and snorted in the way of the beasts.

It looks like the beast is quite intelligent because the taunt worked perfectly, with two quick leaps the big beast sprung into action with its lackeys right behind.

When the beasts got near enough Jordan didn't wait and poured mana to his horn and used his taming/intimidating ability, the ability right now couldn't tame the beasts at all, even the normal beasts were resisting the taming, still, they all froze for a second and that was all Jordan needed.

Jordan didn´t expect that he could tame the big beast straight away, after all the beast was stronger than he was, if he wants to tame it he would first need to beat it to submission.

When the beasts were stunned Jordan together with the beasts under his control seized the moment and attacked, Jordan went for the big beast and let the normal beasts take care of one another, with the moment Jordan got he quickly stepped forward and with a huge swing he hit the big beast in its huge and ugly muck.

The sound of a hammer hitting a hard stone-like surface resounded and the hammer bounced back while a big chunk of the beast´s fur and skin on its semicircular head was missing.

After the hard hit to the head the beast was disoriented once more but didn't let its guard down and with a powerful jerk it pulled its head as high as possible to stabilize and get itself out of the harm's way, Jordan didn't miss this opportunity and with another big swing, he hit the beast front leg, especially it's joint, as the leg bent in a way that was never supposed to Jordan couldn't help but wickedly laugh while the beast angrily roared.

Jordan looked over the battlefield, two of his beasts were dead but the enemy was doing much worse, only one enemy beast was still alive and it was nowhere near fighting shape ´it´s time for phase 2, our participant is already ready´

Jordan ordered "retreat!" And while doing so he jumped near the last beast and with a short stab of his claws he ended the last subordinate beast´s life, he can´t have any unpredictable element in the upcoming battle.

Jordan together with his beast began to run away, but the big beast wouldn´t let them that easily, the big beast began to limp after them while sharp chunks of earth were collected from the ground compressed and formed before its mouth, and then shot at the escaping group, the shards came and hit the group, Jordan jumped to the side and evaded most of it but there were still few that hit his back and sides but he didn't stop, he pulled out those that he could get and continued running.

Jordan beasts were a bit better as they were smaller targets but still, one of them was badly injured and slowed down, Jordan and the two beasts couldn´t stop to help it and continued running, the big beast slowly made its way after them and when it caught up with the normal injured beast it decapitated it with a powerful bite and then continued after Jordan, the only positive thing about this was that Jordan got few breaths of time.

It took only about a minute to get to the planned destination and yet Jordan´s breath was heavy and the 2 beasts with him were injured in many places and sharp stones were pierced inside all of them, Jordan lost count of how many stones were sticking out of him at least the stones at most pierced 1 cm deep.

Jordan was standing on one end of a gate that was part of the wall that went around the plaza, this gate was more like a small backdoor than a gate and was about 2,5 meters wide with the eclipse high about 2,5 meter as well, the wall itself was several meters thick, Jordan waited and finally, the big beast showed itself.

The big beast carefully stepped forward but then stopped, it was an obvious trap, in such a narrow corridor its mobility would decline even more but the same would go for its opponent.

When Jordan saw that the beast was hesitating he pulled out all the knives from behind his belt and began to throw them with all his might with his right hand while holding the two-handed hammer in his left.

The big beast relied on its instincts and wanted to at least move out of the way from the knives but with its front leg badly hurt the big beasts only managed to trip the few knives that flew toward the big beast only managed to cause light scratches but even this was enough as Jordan didn't care about the wounds the knives could cause their purpose was only to avert the beasts attention anyway.

Jordan slowly got near the big beast that was madly swinging its one good paw to keep Jordan away, seeing as it was mainly useless the big beast decided to use the buckshot shards of rock again and began to gather the earth from surroundings.

While gritting his teeth for what's to come to Jordan made his move and with a quick powerful swing he hit the beast's eye, blood-splattered and one of the beast's eyes exploded, Jordan tried to retreat but it was too late.

Jordan got hit with the full power of the buckshot shards from practically a null distance. The stones penetrated quite deeply into Jordan with a few hitting his head and one also grazing his left eye, the black blood was pouring all over Jordan´s body.

´I did not want to cripple it that badly but I don't have a choice, I can´t risk that the beast escapes´

While the big beast was struggling and rampaging around Jordan took out one of the bottles filled with beast´s blood and chucked it in one go. The boost from the blood was nothing much but at least with it Jordan shouldn't bleed out to death´

After a bit of venting the big beast once again targeted Jordan and with renewed rage the beast limped at Jordan while 1,5 meter long flames came from its mouth almost like a flamethrower, the big beast got in the corridor and went straight for Jordan but just as it got in, a big and sharp ice shard came from behind and hit its back, a sharp pain came to the big beast, and that wasn't all, the cat beasts swiftly came, took a bite from its rear legs and then retreated.

The big beast was surprised and tried to around, but Jordan didn't let it, with heavy strikes he kept the beast occupied.

Jordan´s plan was quite simple, first, he will bait the beast out of the library, he can´t risk damaging the books, then he will try to grasp the strength of the beast and escape if its strength is too much and if it isn't he will try to ruin its mobility or at least somewhat injure it before retreating to this narrow gate where he will engage it from the front and back.

At back there were Max and all the cat beasts, the rest of the beasts is patrolling the area and making sure no one will disturb them if someone tries to do that and they cant take care of it, one of the flying beasts is to "report" to Jordan.

There is only one problem Jordan couldn´t eliminate and that was the bird brain of the flying beasts, but life is unpredictable, Jordan decided to risk it even though he hates to take chances, ´I need to get intelligent subordinate as soon as possible! Otherwise, I am fucked´

Jordan together with Max and the cat beasts made the life of the big beast hell, its blood stained the whole corridor, but it still stood on its shaking legs, every time the big beast tried to break through one side would attack its legs and force it to give up just like that the beast was beaten down, its fur was destroyed, deep cuts everywhere on its body and icicles were sticking out of its body.

Now just like Jordan, the beast resembled a hedgehog.

Jordan poured mana in his horn and tried to communicate with the beast, with proud bearing he declared "Join me! I will take care of you in exchange for your servitude! Together we will take over this small town and then many more!"

Maybe it was the poor speech but most probably the exhaustion, the big beast fell on the ground and painfully growled, there was still fire in its eyes but nowhere as proud as before, now the fire was defeated and fine with whatever.

As the beast was laying on the ground Jordan poured mana into his horn and oppressed the beast with his taming/intimidation ability, the beast looked at Jordan, and while using all of its strength the beast stood up and lowered its head before Jordan in submission.

Jordan was very happy at this moment, when he prepared his plan he was thinking that successful taming would be unlikely, after all the beast controlled area in the plaza where the strongest beast gathered and was even stronger than Jordan´s.

When the beast recovers the strength of the beast under him would skyrocket even when you count in the losses.

With a bloody smile, Jordan said "today was a good day, and from this day forward your name will be Sunny, just as the sunny future that is before us"
