MODERATION TICKET: Cupio_Dissolvi (Rule 3: Threats and inciting violence)
[6:05] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: What the fuck is wrong with you.
[7:32] Cupio_Dissolvi: It is usually unwise to swear at someone who holds the power to wreck havoc on civilization as you know it.
[7:35] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: Okay. Fine.
You don’t have any more power than the rest of us, you know? We all have the image within easy reach. We could all perform our own version of your twisted power fantasy. The only thing that differenciates you from us is that you are a lunatic sociopath.
[7:39] Cupio_Dissolvi: The only thing that differenciates us is that I am an agent of truth, whereas the rest of you are spineless cowards who would accept to die forgotten when the history books are open to them, with a pen next to it ready for usage.
I really do wish it hadn’t come to this. You’re my friend. But in my view, the advancement of human knowledge has much more worth than the bond between two random individuals in a population of billions.
[7:40] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: Is there anything we can do to stop you? Or is this conversation doing nothing but delaying the inevitable?
[7:41] Cupio_Dissolvi: Promote me to moderator status.
[7:41] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: What?
[7:42] Cupio_Dissolvi: If I don’t have a fancy yellow tag next to my name in the next thirty seconds, this world ends.
[7:42] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: You won’t actually do it.
[7:42] Cupio_Dissolvi: 20.
[7:42] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: You’re part of civilization too, you know?
[7:42] Cupio_Dissolvi: 10.
[7:43] Oxymoronic [Moderator]: Fuck you.
[7:43] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator]: Glad to see we could reach an agreement.
Threads/Staff Announcements/One month
[8:09] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
I am pleased to announce you that I have been kindly promoted to the Moderator position by my good friend Oxy.
Now, let us get down to business.
I am going to set up an automated client in a server for which I will not disclose the location. In exactly one month from now, it will automatically post babel.png over all the social media you can imagine, as well as contact two highway billboards company (alongside 10,000$ of my precious funds) to display your favorite psychedelic phonograph for all to see. Therefore, physically incapacitating me would be an ill-advised decision, for only I know the server’s location and password.

The reason I am doing this is for the sake of my personal curiosity towards the Babel Maze - for that is how I have chosen to call this game - and nothing else. I may consider disabling the server if the Maze is solved before the deadline. This means that the stability of civilization depends on you, good friends.
Naturally, I could at any instant activate the automated client ahead of schedule. Respecting the following clauses will go a long way towards not letting that happen.
Do not stifle any constructive discussion of the Babel Maze through bans, mutes or general nuisance. Do not be disrespectful towards me. Do not sabotage any projects or attempts to solve the Babel Maze. All the old rules of the forum apply, except, of course, Rule 7.
Now, onto the good news! You will be pleased to notice that new user tags have been implemented. From now on, the highest room number you have managed to reach in the Babel Maze will be immortalized in every single one of your future posts. The [F] tag is reserved for those who have attempted the Babel Maze, but do not remember their journey. Naturally, it stands for “Failure”.
Good luck on your quest, comrades. I am overjoyed to assist you in this fantastical experiment.
[8:11] Oxymoronic [Moderator] [1]: So, this is what you were planning this whole time. I could never have guessed you’d be the kind of person to do such a thing.
[8:12] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: Hmm? No, the idea just came to me. I’m a little bit of an opportunistic entrepreneur, you see?
[8:16] Ancient_Archivist [F] [5]: You are completely insane.
[8:16] DareToRun [F]: I take TWO DAYS off
And THIS is what I come back to
So, uh, can anyone fill me in?
[8:18] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: >You are completely insane.
I’d watch that mouth if I were you. It would be a shame to fail my challenge minutes after it started.
>can anyone fill me in?
I’d love to, but the time I’d spend explaining could be put to a much better use. Like working towards a solution, for example! I suggest you take some time reading the threads you’ve missed. They should suffice to enlighten you as to the matter at hand.

[8:20] Ancient_Archivist [F] [5]: Watch my mouth? I don’t believe any of your rambling. The “Babel Maze” is a hoax and you’re nothing but a madman. You belong in an asylum. I am not scared of your threats. The only thing you’ll end up doing is spending 10k only to realize you were undergoing psychosis the whole time.
[8:21] Oxymoronic [Moderator] [1]: I hate to say it, but don’t provoke him. Leave the forum if you want no part in this. The image is not as harmless as you think.
[8:21] solami [F]: Meds. Now. ALL of you.
[8:21] tarr [5]: Jesus fucking christ. What the fuck. No, seriously, what the fuck.
[8:22] solami [F]: I can smell you through your screen Cupio
You’re a pathetic neckbeard, a crook and a backstabber
Maybe you should try going outside
[8:24] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: Tick tock. Round and round goes the clock. Almost 15 minutes have elapsed since I started the thread, and your progress towards solving the Maze is still at zero. Better get moving, friends.
[8:25] minotaur56: this is so fun to watch lol
[8:25] Oxymoronic [Moderator] [1]: Wait, it’s the person that started all of this!
@minotaur56, why are you putting us through this? You could save humanity by just explaining to Cupio here how you made this game and what lies at the end.
[8:25] minotaur56: idk didn’t make it anyways lol bye
[8:27] Ancient_Archivist [F] [5]: “Save humanity”, lol. Even if the image really had the powers you’re claiming it has, so what? It creates a slightly more immersive dream than usual? For only one night? And half the people end up forgetting about it? Worst thing it’s going to create is a one month viral internet trend. Go ahead, Cupio. Waste your money and your time.
[8:27] Oxymoronic [Moderator] [1]: Please answer us, @minotaur56. If you didn’t make it, where did you find it?
[8:31] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: There’s a whole lot of talking going on here, and not a lot of doing. Since you all appear to be utterly out of ideas, allow me to provide you with a suggestion. No individual has so far been able to return to the Babel Maze twice. We need more data, and for this, we need more subjects. I won’t be making this forum public, as that would basically be acting on my threats for no good reason - although our good comrade Ancient is starting to deliver one. Invite your friends, your family and the strangers you meet here. I will personally ensure they are welcomed, and provided with all the necessary information before their expedition into the Maze.
[8:32] Oxymoronic [Moderator] [1]: We should delete all the previous instances of babel.png on the forum. You wouldn’t want an untrained individual to waste their shot just because they clicked on the wrong link, right?
[8:32] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: An excellent point! I will add a filter to the forum that automatically deletes instances of babel.png sent by unauthorized users. Only staff members will be able to distribute the trigger image to trained subjects, which will be determined via questionnaire.
[8:33] tarr [5]: Okay, you fucking asshole. I know you’re not going to snap when the promise of an organized research team is dangling in front of you, so I’m going to both assist you AND make sure you eventually regret every single minute you’ve spent on this forum.
[8:34] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: Glad to have you on board! Welcome.
[8:34] solami [F]: I’m getting the fuck outta here
[8:34] Ancient_Archivist [F] [5]: Same for me.
[8:35] Cupio_Dissolvi [Moderator] [2]: And nothing of value was lost.
Alright. Enough chit-chat. Your next task is to bring a new user on the forum that you believe may end up being a valuable asset on our team. Interest in paranormal phenomenon, gaming systems, ability to follow instructions and decent communication skills are a plus. Toxic, unruly and generally unpleasant individuals are to be discarded. If I don’t see any new faces around here before midnight EST, you may have a nice surprise the next time you’ll drive on the highway to pay a visit to your grandma.
[8:35] System: Thread locked.

Project: You have died
A monologue story about a man who died and was reborn in a new world of mysteries and intrigue. Where monsters and magic are common place and gods are plentiful. The story follows his life as fate conspires to bind him to a path which he will eventually struggle to come to terms with. *** The story is a slow burner inspired by web novels with the main character accounting every action in time. I doubt this style is for everyone ***

Restless Night, Pleasant Dreams
I lived my life as a dream. Waking up to attend parties with those of my elk, sleeping with the bright and pretty, leaving behind many promises and lies. I woke up from all of that nonsense. No... it is better to say that I was— shock awake.. I watched my father die like a dog trying to protect my mother. I watch my mother take her own life after my father died. I clearly remember sitting in the steam carriage, nursing a hangover. Praying for this trip to be over. I clearly remember the amber eyes and twelve foot wing span. I clearly remember the sound of iron doors being ripped open as if it was paper wall. I clearly remember other drivers screaming and the sound of collisions and explosions as people rekt in panic of escaping. I remember the death around me and the fear that gripped me. The soul stirring feeling that sent me fleeing while my parents were suck clean of blood. I remember thinking, berating myself hours later. Gripping my hair, slapping my palms into my forehead, questioning why I didn't carry my tools. Weeks pass since that time.. My guilt is gnawing at me and this pain isn't something I like. I almost feel like the man in the mirror isn't me. The me I used to be. Maybe, if I take revenge. I can put these demons to rest? Maybe, if I put these bastard in a grave. I can be someone new? Maybe, after they all die. This mirror won't haunt me with their faces?

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
