《I Am The GUIDE》[Vol.1] 0031: Unexpected Development (2)

"Hey."
The redbird and bluebird meet eyes. But Azure did not reply.
The birds watching the scene did not say anything and simply waited for orders.
"Kill."
The word comes out from the redbird's mouth and everyone looks towards Azure.
They remembered this small, weak, and very fragile bird. He was an errand boy to everyone. He was weak but is part of the food hunters because he did not have any talent. Being part of the food hunter team when you are that weak is a complete suicide.
However, the bluebird's luck was very strong and he was quite knowledgeable about the forest, the reason he was still alive until today. If he was not, he should have been dead already.
"All of you."
The Acting Chief added, but everyone hesitated.
All of you.
The Acting Chief was ordering all of them to attack the small bluebird all at once.
A warrior that looks like the leader glances at one bird and nodded, telling him to fight the bluebird as there is no need for everyone to attack. He was not even strong so the leader warrior feels pity if they attack him together.
In addition, Russell was only the Acting Chief so he has no full control of the warriors but the leaders of the warriors.
The warrior that the leader pick stood up, and got his greatsword, readying for the attack.
The leader warrior looks back to the bluebird but was surprised when it did not even look in their direction and is calmly standing there in his fighting stance.
"He dares look down on me…?"
The most shocked was the picked warrior as he had never been treated this way before.
He was part of the elite warriors, he was naturally stronger than most Long Fangs members, and he had prided himself because of it. But, a mere bluebird without talents is looking down on him, a trained warrior?
"Such arrogance..."
He mumbled before screaming as veins pops out of his hands that were tightly clutching the greatsword.
"Unbelievable!"
The picked bird activated his ability called The impact it has on his sword was thrice stronger compared to using raw strength.
Of course, Azure was paying attention to everyone and simply can't take his eyes off of the redbird as he was most wary about him. He cannot let him get out of his sight.
Even without paying attention, Azure can take down all the warrior birds. They are not that strong, however, they are quite tricky once they attack altogether. But Azure will still win, there is no doubt.
"That was a bit reckless."
Reece thought that the picked warrior bird charging because he was mad was reckless.

He did not even consider the possibility that Azure is that powerful considering how he manages to follow them without getting caught or get hunted by other animals that usually targets lone animal.
"I guess Azure did not pay attention on purpose to get him mad."
It was not accurate, but Reece believes so.
"You talentless and disrespectful bird!"
The picked warrior bird then unhesitatingly jumps down and struck the bluebird.
"Huh...?"
Then, a bloody head flies away and rolls, and stops in front of the redbird.
The Redbird Russell then began to shake his head in disappointment as he observes the head of one of his bird warriors.
Everyone also looks at the head before looking back at the bluebird.
'What just happened?'
That was what their faces were saying. They were greatly astonished.
Bluebird Azure's right hand, which he uses to use the head, was dripping with blood. The look on the small bluebird's eyes was dangerous, and everyone senses it, giving them the chills.
"I did say to kill him with full force."
Redbird Russell's tone was nonchalant as he shrugs his shoulders as if he was already expecting that Azure was that strong.
"You should listen to your Acting Chief for once."
That made Azure warier than the Acting Chief, who is not surprised by his strength.
The warrior birds then realize why the Acting Chief said attack with 'full force' because he knew that this bluebird was not your typical bluebird.
A weak color but is intelligent. That is the bluebirds, but he was not like them.
"Everyone! Get ready for full assault!"
The warrior birds all got up and ready their weapons. The leader and the Acting Chief were serious so it is time for them to get serious.
However, before they could completely prepare, Azure kick sideways and one of the trees shook violently. There are two birds in it, so Azure runs and climb while still running.
"Shoot him!"
The leader warrior shouted, and three archers attack the running Azure while also activating their abilities.
None of the arrows reach Azure though because he was faster than the archers and they were having a hard time following his every move, even with their abilities activated.
Reaching the two birds, Azure pulls out two of his sharp feathers and throws them. One bird was hit in the neck while the other bird has a cut. It was only small injuries, but the two fall to the ground, dead from poison.
Redbird Russell's pupils were shaking.
'That poison!'
It was the famous 'disappearing poison' frequently used in assassination and it is a fact that they are very difficult to acquire. Furthermore, only high-leveled Alchemists can make them.

'I'm sure he did not acquire it through trade!'
The obvious answer was, the bluebird either make it himself or that someone was sponsoring him. It could be the former, it could be the latter, or it could be both.
'Judging how he was not affected by the poison...'
Means Azure must have taken an antidote beforehand.
'Having both the poison and the antidote, he really is interesting.'
His assumption was not entirely the truth, but the redbird does not know that. That is why he was quite happy right now.
The warriors are not happy though.
They have no idea what the poison was.
Take into account how two of the bird warriors, the strongest members of the Long Fangs, die a second later after getting hit by the bluebird's feathers, this fight will not be easy.
The leader of the warriors looks around.
He now only has a total of 11 warriors. They are strong when together but if they attack together, it is also very risky because the bluebird can easily aim for everyone if they attack as one. It only needed to scratch them and they will quickly die from the unknown poison.
The warrior leader bit his lip as he peeked toward their Acting Chief Russell, who is not doing anything and is only observing, before giving out orders.
"Warrior 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8! Attack head-on!"
The first four that were called nodded and then transformed back to their original form. They are giving their all to this fight.
The warrior leader continued to shout his order.
"Warrior 6, 9, 11, and 1! Defend them!"
"Warrior 5, and 10! Support!"
The warriors that are called started to move as they were ordered.
Azure, who was still on a tree, looks around. He was surrounded by three sides but his back was so open, he can even use this to escape.
His eyes land on the redbird, their Acting Chief. It was simply there still watching him.
'I can't escape.'
His back may be open, but the redbird could probably catch him considering his level.
Bluebird Azure then focuses his attention on the bird warriors of Long Fangs. He just has to fight if he cannot escape.
'They lack strategy.'
Birds are known as animals that use raw strength and power most of the time. They rarely do strategy when fighting if it is not a war that needed cooperation.
Individual and small fights mostly do not require strategy, as the birds believe.
Furthermore, they do not know the full extent of their abilities as they hardly train them. It doesn't do much of a difference for someone at Azure's level with or without ability.
Bluebird Azure's eyebrow twitches as they now headed toward him with full prowess.
He then pulls out one feather and throws it. It was effortlessly blocked by a shield that was in the form of a hand.
'This hand is quite troublesome.'
It can even close and open its fingers. It moves exactly like how a hand moves but the ability holder painfully lacks control.
Bang!
A part of the tree was sent flying by that attack just now.
The bluebird obviously avoided it as he jumps down as one of the birds swings its huge wings.
'Thank god they can't use weapons when in bird form.'
Sadly, as birds needed their two hands connected to their wings to flap all the time to fly, they cannot wield any weapons.
Azure though cannot handle weapons that well as he was not allowed to have a strong weapon. The weapons he received from the food hunters are very weak and immediately break whenever he uses them.
Truthfully, it was neither weak nor strong actually. It just so happen that Azure was a mutant and is much stronger than your typical bird.
Swish!
A violent gush of wind from his left. It was another bird flying toward his side.
Azure shifted his body left and throw a feather he just pulled out but it was black by another one from the defense team. The defense and support team was doing quite well.
'Well, I need to get serious.'
Azure then took out chains and the edge attach with a dagger.
This was a weapon he created that match his strength. It was wrapped around his waist earlier but no one notices it because of the piece of cloth he wraps around his waist.
Clang. Clang. Clang.
The sound of the chains bumping into each other was quite loud.
"Oh?"
The redbird let out a gasp of excitement. He had never seen such a weapon before. Although it looks weird, it looks like it was on the stronger side.
'What is that?'
The warrior leader has a scowl on his face as he observes the peculiar weapon that the bluebird took out.
"Be wary! Back out of its reach!"
He has an ominous feeling towards it that he told everyone to be wary and back out a bit, just enough for the weapon with chains to not reach the warriors.
