《I Am The GUIDE》[Vol.1] 0028: The Freed (4)

Nevertheless, Hugh was well aware of that but is still willing to accept that fact. He will accept all bird tribes' wrath.
"It is for me to decide."
It was him who walk on this path with his own accord, why would he listen to their advice?
Hugh did not let them speak anymore as he opened his mouth and pounce on the fearful birds. More blood is shed on the hard ground. The noise of limbs getting pierced and tear, cries of agony.
For Hugh, who use to be the one letting out these groans and moan of suffering, it was such a satisfying noise when the table has turned.
Reece was getting nervous as his fingers are tapping his arms way faster than usual. Actually, it was way too fast, it doesn't appear normal anymore. Hugh was taking it too long than planned.
"Is he really fine?"
Hugh doesn't even know how to use his ability, let alone control his unhindered strength and power.
[I can assure you.]
Reece sigh and flies up, attempting to fly near the hole in the middle of the dome. Just to see a gist of what was happening inside. He was that curious and worried.
But Daniel interjected, halting Reece.
[Report. I stole the trigger buttons.]
"Oh, oh! Good job. You truly grant my request!"
[...]
Reece now has a huge smile on his face, while Daniel has nothing to say.
"Hehe, let us examine it."
His request to Daniel, this was one of it. To steal the trigger buttons connected to the other tribes and research them.
[Understood.]
Suddenly, the ground began to rumble. Daniel was now removing the dome made of tree branches and roots. It was slowly revealing the gory sight of the Long Fangs Tribe with Hugh Ibrahim, the lion mutant, in the middle of it. He was covered in blood as if he was bathing with water.
'... Thanks.'
Thankfully, Daniel was fast to heighten Reece's tolerance when it comes to these types of scenes. Hence Reece was unaffected.
Of course, he was still feeling pity for everyone who died horrifyingly at the hands of two insensitive monsters, Daniel and Hugh.
[Report. There is a sum of animals and monsters coming this way. Immediately, fled.]
Reece's face harden. They cannot yet lower their ground as a horde of different kinds of animals and some monsters are now coming this way.
He flies down next to Hugh as he said to the lion who is wiping out blood on his body.
"We should go now. Quick."
"Yes! A moment please."
Hugh reduces his size to not gain much attention as he followed Reece, who is strangely flying very fast.

"How do you feel?"
Reece asks as he now sat on top of Hugh's head.
It has already been an hour when they escape. There was chaos in the forest and everywhere, you would hear them fighting or roaring or shrieking.
The forest is quite loud today, disturbing the entirety of the races living within the forest. It will stay that way until the chaos went down and everyone resolves everything.
Needless to say, the birds will never cool down unless they find Hugh Ibrahim and Azure, the only birds who are not seen dead in the tribe.
'Well, if they were to investigate, even if we hide every track, the birds will still be able to tell it was Hugh and Azure who lead the coup.'
Hugh's lion body will be nowhere to be found, and with the destroyed prison cell and traces of lion claws on the trees, it is not hard to tell Hugh was one of the traitors.
However, they will be having a hard time tracking and identifying the identity of Azure, unless one of the trade team who left earlier witness Azure's betrayal and escape. There is also a chance that Azure is seen by others who are far stronger than him without knowing.
'That is why I am worried.'
At that moment, Hugh Ibrahim answered.
"I feel refreshed now that the sticky blood is washed away!"
"Not that."
Reece sways his right hand from left to right as he dully said that.
The lion mutant was thrown into the lake by Reece before they began to travel again. They are already far from the tribe, but still, they are in the middle of the forest, there would still be danger everywhere they go.
They only manage to avoid meeting anyone on the way as Azure created a safe escape route for them.
Hugh then replied with his usual joyful voice.
"Oh, I love it very much! I love trampling the weak!"
"What are you talking about?"
It was not the answer he was aiming to know. Still, Hugh seems to not care as he explained.
"To grant them despair and suffering, ah! It was beautiful. Their ugly expression covered in blood was beautiful."
"H, huh?"
"Of course, being beautiful and cute is totally different."
For the Lion Mutant Hugh, 'beautiful' is the word he uses to describe things that give him pleasure. Such as weaklings crying and begging him. Contrary, 'cute' is something he wants to keep and protect, and not see as something beautiful 'beautiful.'
'And Reece is cute! So adorable. Yet, his beauty is due to his elegance and majestic figure and not his pitiful crying begging face.'

Hugh giggled as he thinks about it.
Reece then coughs.
"I was talking about being free."
This mutant was imprisoned his whole life, he should at least feel something now that he got out.
"Oh... I see... I like it. Being free and without restriction."
The lion mutant then continues.
"Uhm... I never thought I will find them beautiful in a different way."
"... Who?"
Reece has his right eyebrow up.
"The birds. Those puny beings. They are beautiful in a different way."
"... How so?"
Reece has an ominous feeling about it but still asks anyway.
"Them, crying with their ugly face, it was beautiful in a disgusting way."
"Uh, huh...? Is that so?"
But now, the fairy's face was blank with his mouth slightly parted. Naturally, Hugh did not notice as Reece was sitting on top of his head.
But Reece was asking about what Hugh was feeling after getting out of his prison room, but it looks like he does not care about getting free. Instead, he was more focused on how he killed his family and tribe members.
"Hehehe!"
He was scared. Reece getting scared again.
'Why is he laughing like a maniac? Does he find the scared voice and expression of mine beautiful?'
Although Reece was a good liar, he was a good actor, but because he rarely has any expression on his face. He rarely makes face. It was always dull. However, whenever he flinches, he can barely hide them.
Someone at Azure's level must have already noticed that he was a bit uncomfortable having them around.
"A, ah. To the right please."
Although it was still a few kilometers away, Reece thought it will be fine.
He had already memorized the forest map, more like he pictures it in his mind through Daniel, as well as the map of the escape route, thus he was already aware of the location with most dangers and avoided them while still following the escape route. Though not entirely.
"Yes, gladly."
Hugh replied and followed Reece's instructions.
In the end, Reece avoided a topic again.
'I am truly glad I am good at these useless talents.'
He was glad he was good at avoiding difficult topics.
"By the way, will you be okay, Reece?"
"Why would I not be okay?"
Reece was frowning as he asks.
He and Hugh manage to get away, for now. If everything falls under his plan, then Reece will be okay.
"The World Tree and the elves. It seems that it does not want your pure hands to be bloodied."
Hugh was quite knowledgeable about fairies as he asks Azure about them ever since meeting Reece, which is why he is already aware of the grave consequence of Reece helping them in murder.
'The World Tree huh?'
Reece has been thinking about it before, but the actual conclusion of his deep contemplation was that—
"I will just ignore them."
It was already common that most fairies left their duty to join the humans or any creatures they find interesting and fun to be with. As fairies live long lives, even longer than elves but not close to the immortal spirits, they easily get bored.
And unlike Spirit Guardians that do contracts, the fairies don't. They do not have such a system. Their only duty was to watch over nature and takes care of it for the rest of their lives.
Who would want that?
Who will not get bored?
Probably, everyone.
Now, the biggest reason why there are quite a lot of fairies who do this, was because they will never receive punishment. Unless they are proven to be involved in something that broke the World Tree's views, that is.
'However, as long as I am not caught, I will be fine.'
Daniel has already made sure no one was near when he was creating the dome. Not even a real fairy in hiding or any sort of spying device was watching him. That was why Reece was quite confident right now that no one saw it was truly a fairy that has done that dome.
'Besides, I am not the only one who could create such a huge dome.'
Reece was using divine power. However, there are a few with the ability to control nature, and elements as Daniel has mentioned. The reason why the culprit or the accomplice of the traitor, Lion Mutant Hugh Ibrahim, will remain a mystery for everyone and will probably give them a headache.
"And the poison?"
The deadly poison that Reece used in the roots to quickly eliminate the birds and not give them any chance of running away and surviving.
"Ah, it was a poison I created when I have the time."
Actually, he has tons of time as every day of this current world seems like two to three days of the Earth's hour count. The reason why he has tons of free time.
[...]
Of course, it was Daniel who made the formula. But Reece was the one who made them by hand.

Braindead - A Zombie LitRPG
In a world where zombies are trash mobs that children kill for easy exp, what hope does one little zed have? Zed was minding his own business when his master's domain was invaded by a plucky young heroine looking to make a name for herself. An unlikely turn of events allowed Zed to come out on top, and gave him enough experience to rise above the life of a mindless minion. Unfortunately, it also left him with no body to share it with... literally, not figuratively! This story contains: Some 'jokes' containing questionable humour. An inhuman MC who has no interest in pesky things like romance or growing a conscience. Blue boxes, and a DnD style system messily mashed together with several other systems. Gore, but nothing too gratuitous. The main character is a severed head so what do you expect? Kingdom/base building, because what good is a zombie without a good horde behind them. Releases planned for each Sunday until I build up a decent backlog.

The Yes-Mage
Plenty of people have stopped and asked what it'd be like to simply have everything, and Sylvain Henry Camille Johansson was no different. He was a man who had a lot of things going on, with a name that'd make a supervillain blush and a family who'd make even the useless of their rank into someone important. It was a shame, then, that he was slapped with a dreadfully unfortunate condition that kept him from living up to any of those already low expectations. Stuck living a life where magic is everywhere while he's left working with nothing more than a moderate intellect, a little bit of whatever influence he could get from his family, and a lifetime's practice at making himself the ideal subordinate for his bosses' boss, Vane was still beating the odds and slowly working his way up in the world. When the cunning yes-man finally got a chance to really make a name for himself, he leapt at the offer, taking his first real step onto a road he knew he was always meant to walk. His goal? Nothing less than finding out why he and too many other unfortunate souls are barred from the wonderful world of the higher energies, and with any luck, fixing it. Of course, life has a knack for interfering in even the humblest of plans, and Vane's lofty ideals were anything but humble; he was practically a walking bullseye for disaster. The funny thing about catastrophe, though, is that nobody can ever say what form it's going to take. That’s why, when it all went wrong for Vane, he'd gotten everything he'd ever wanted foisted onto him, and Everything else, too. Watch as a man so used to saying 'yes' to everyone above him finds himself stuck with the power to make reality itself say it back.

A Nerd's Wet Dream Come True (Tossing an OC into Marvel)
John was an average man. At least that's what he tells himself at night. He lived in a rented apartment in the decent district, a well-paying job, and more student debt than he cared to think about being steadily paid off. Yet he was absolutely miserable. He spent his days living like a zombie, a slave in all but name to corporate. His only joy these days it seems was reading comics and writing fanfics. SI ones. Choke full of power fantasies and large harems. Yeah, even he had to admit he was a loser. His only redeeming feature seemed to be his photographic memory and the library's worth of comics and books he has read. Yet, when fate took pity on him and had John transported into the Marvel Universe, he was only all too happy to oblige. A second chance to make something of himself. Is he going to finally have the comfortable life he wanted? Will he laze away relying on his past life's knowledge or does he want more this time? Will his ambition and hard work lead to sweet fruits, or will it rot away in the darkness hiding beneath the colorful costumes of the hero's society? Now with crossovers! Be warned if you don't like to see OCs messing up the timeline or DC and other stuff showing up. I swear I'm not randomly adding stuff and there is a legitimate (as far as comic books and fanfics can be) plot reason why. (I'll be honest, I don't know "cannon" marvel really... I watched some movies and animated series as a kid, but I haven't picked up a comic in years. This is just some light-hearted and casual writing for fun. If there are any errors or something you think would be cool please let me know.) I'm also trying to have multiple main characters so that might be jarring for some people while I switch perspective. Sorry in advance, I'm new at this and idk what I'm doing, advice and feedback gladly welcomed!
