《I Am The GUIDE》[Vol.1] 0027: The Freed (3)

"Hmm...? So this is my blood as a higher reacting to the pleasure of trampling the weak."
The three birds who are only watching were looking at Hugh with complicated expressions.
"Hehehe...!"
Hugh's blood was boiling in excitement. He began to tear off the green bird's dead body without thinking, and blood gushes out onto the ground.
Rippp! Ripppp!
The disgusting sound of limbs getting tear off could be heard in the middle of the loud place.
"NO!"
"You!!"
One of the brown birds shouted in anger and sends Hugh his sharp feather, which didn't do much on Hugh's tough lion skin.
"Aah... You three, come at me!"
The orange bird and the brown bird greeted their teeth as they both launch attack toward Hugh.
"Fuck!"
But the other brown bird, the female one, chooses to run away but was stopped by the roots.
'This is bad. Fighting this mutant head-on will only end with our body scattered everywhere.'
Ran, the orange bird, flies up and landed on one of the trees as he pointed his hand toward Hugh. He then shouted.
"Fire! Fire!"
It was a weak shot, just like a normal gun on Earth. Hugh Ibrahim's tough skin, which is a trait he got from the lions, only tickles a bit.
"Hahaha! It tickles~ Uncle, stop it!"
"Shu, shut up! Shut up!"
"Are we playing catch now?"
Hugh tilted his head while looking at Ran who he tried to catch but jumps up higher from the ground.
"Fire!"
Ran was now using both his hands to fire the invisible bullets.
"I will catch you later. I have these two to deal with."
The mutant was naturally talking about Rowen and Lana which was attacking him right now.
"Fuck..."
Despair could be seen on Ran's face.
He was not smart enough to figure out how to defeat Hugh. He was also not a very strong fighter, unlike his two other brown-colored siblings. He does not know what to do without Jade, his closes sibling.
In contrast, the two brown-colored birds, Rowen and Lana, were attacking Hugh head-on with Rowen using his ability, bomb, to fight.
Brown bird Rowen picked up stones and infuse them with his ability. It will serve as his bombs. He then, throw it to Hugh Ibrahim who has on guard with the bombs but neither of the three birds.
"Explode!"
The bird, Rowen, screamed as he continues to throw away rocks as he was also getting closer to Hugh, who is currently fighting the brown bird female, Lana.
Lana was not thinking anymore as she was too scared to get killed by the roots with a deadly poison that she decided to just attack Hugh instead. After all, the roots were not interfering with them at all.

And as she is not familiar with her ability because she has only gotten it five years ago, she chooses to fight physically with only her sharp feathers and claws.
Just like that, the battle continued with an obvious winner. It took only three minutes to kill them since they are persisting.
Although Hugh was still stronger with them together, it will not be fun if they die without resisting with their all.
'If only they know how to use their abilities to their advantage instead of training physically.'
Hugh shook his head.
He was disappointed they could not use their abilities' real potential as most birds believe that it was no use practicing their abilities because it always depends on the holder's strength and power and not training to improve special abilities.
"Now, where are they?"
Hugh looks around, searching for his grandparents. He found them quite easily as they fight the roots Reece has created.
It was a good thing that they could not retreat as there are moving roots all over the place.
A game of hiding and seeking will only waste his time.
Unknowingly to Hugh, the roots stealthily approach the dead bodies as they stab its heart.
With full speed, Hugh Ibrahim arrives at 5 seconds. He was quick to corner his grandparents, which angers the latter.
"Why—ugh! Why are you... doing this!?"
"We are your... your family!"
Hugh Ibrahim watches his grandmother and grandfather still in their humanoid appearances as they desperately tried to persuade him into sparing them. The two peanut-colored birds were looking up at him and not the other way around, for the first time.
'This is... beautiful?'
Although Hugh does not find them cute despite having beautiful appearances not matching their age, Hugh finds it beautiful that they are on their knees, crying and begging for his mercy. It what truly makes them beautiful in his eyes.
"Funny."
It was really funny. That he finds his 'lovely family' beautiful for a different reason.
Hugh chuckles as he turned back into his humanoid form. He squats in front of his family as he stares at them.
"You guys are disgustingly beautiful. Please cry and beg more."
"What, what—you...!"
His grandfather tried to grab him, but a bird is weak to lions. Hugh did not even budge when he grabs his grandchild's neck. How could he win?
"You are not supposed to be alive! Mutants should all die! You cannot continue living with us!"
"Oh... My, my."
Lion Mutant Hugh Ibrahim shook his head as he stood up.
"Grandfather, this world is not for you to judge and say I am supposed to not live."

How could they decide that? Are they the god or the monarch of the world to decide that they, the mutants, are not meant to be born and deserve to live?
"Hugh! Hugh! Please, listen to grandma!"
Hugh immediately backs away when his grandmother tried to hold him. And when it calls his name given by his mother, Hugh felt bitter. It was the first time she called him his name.
"This won't do. I am having fun, do not spoil it."
He picks one of the stone spears laying on the ground after its user died.
"Hugh! NO! Please!"
"Ha! Kill us then! So you will rot in hell after God punished a disgusting mutant like you--!"
Without hesitation, Hugh stabs the spear into his grandfather's head as he brings the corpse closer. Without saying anything, Hugh tears off his grandfather's left hand.
"NO! NO! Please!!"
His grandmother's shriek in horror could be heard in the background, but Hugh does not care as he continued to tear his grandfather's limbs and throwing it everywhere.
"Ahahaha! How is it!? Does it hurt!? Do you feel it!?"
As he was shouting, more birds notice he got out of his prison room and that his restriction is lifted.
"Hahahaha~!"
As he continued laughing, Hugh suddenly realizes that his grandmother has become quiet.
Looking down back at her who is still on the ground, Hugh found his grandmother hugging herself while trembling.
"What are you doing?"
His voice was low. Hugh was angry as this weak and shaking grandmother is not the usual grandmother he uses to see. That grandmother was strong, strict, and barely smiling.
"Who are you...? The grandmother in my 12-year memory never cowers, even in front of my dominant father. She was strong and prideful, in contrast to my idiot grandfather--"
He was suddenly cut off by his own grandmother.
"Hugh. You will never live peacefully."
Hugh has his right eyebrow rose as he hears her words.
"And?"
"It will be chaotic."
Surprisingly, her voice was calm. In contrast to her trembling body and scared expression.
"Once you got out, explore and get stronger, have many allies, it will only get more difficult as time passed by."
"..."
Hugh did not answer but let her continue to speak anyways.
"Do not walk to the wrong path."
"Heh... What is the right path, grandmother?"
"..."
This time, it was her who did not answer the question. Instead, unexpected words came out of her mouth.
"I, Lilina, your grandmother, am so sorry for everything."
She was apologizing. The trembling suddenly stops as she looks up to Hugh, her grandchild with a lion's blood in his veins.
"Please kill this grandmother of your unmercifully."
"... Grandmother, I accept your apology. Forgiving is a different matter of course."
"I know. I am not asking your forgiveness."
Hugh tightens his grip on the stone spear. Veins now visible on his hands.
"Please... die and rot in hell."
Hugh was smiling painfully as he said that.
"Please... live."
It was genuine last words from his grandmother.
Hugh slightly flinches before he looks away as he stabs her in her chest. It was a fast and merciful death for her. Because Hugh did not tear off her limbs and simply left her cold body on the ground.
"... Ha."
Hugh glances at the tribe members and his family's corpse before looking away without any regrets. He shall now deal with the elders first, who ordered to kill Azure's mother before dealing with the other birds.
"Hmm... shall I play with you guys?"
Truthfully, it was what they usually say to him when they visited him for fun. No, to play.
The birds and the elders were cornered on both sides and could not help but grit their teeth. They are helpless!
"Why... are you doing this?"
It was one of Azure's own kind, the bluebirds.
They have already figured out that nature is being commanded by Hugh considering it all stoped attacking once Hugh was in front of them.
"Are you all that dense to ask why I am doing this?"
Hugh Ibrahim was irritated.
How could these sons of bitches ask why he was doing this when it was obvious it was for revenge? Are they that dense or are they only acting dense and pitiful for him to let them live?
Hugh can see the children his age and younger, looking at him for mercy.
However.
'However, I am not stupid enough to let them live.'
If he let them live, they will chase him for revenge.
'I have to reduce the number of my enemies.'
"Revenge is not going to do you good! In the future, you will only suffer more!"
Of course, revenge is something that always came with a price to pay. If you choose revenge over peace, life will never be easy for you.
