"She got quite a boost in health… but even if she is a general, she isn't a boss type monster… Zier was an elite type, the hero and his companion were all boss types…" Li Wei thought and furrowed her eyebrows. She extended her hand, clenched and unclenched her fist; the menu opened and from it, she chose the previously unavailable option .
A window opened.
Li Wei tapped on the option. A new window opened in the place of the old one.
Li Wei tapped on the name ; the window got replaced once more.
"So she can upgrade herself into an elite? Good," Li Wei thought; then closed all the menus and saw the girl still kneeling on the ground and looking up at her.
"Let's go,"
Xie Nie rose up from the ground, "Where are we going, de—Li Wei?"
Li Wei nodded as she was pleased that the slime girl listened to her first order. "Since you are going to travel with me, there are a few rules that you must follow at all times," she said and started walking towards the road.
Xie Nie walked after her and tilted her head in confusion, "Rules?"
"Yes, rules. The first rule, you never talk, to humans, elves or whatever other race we encounter. The only time you are allowed to open your mouth is when we are alone. The second rule, you are not allowed to attack anyone without my permission. The third rule, when I order you to do something, you do it, without asking any questions, without any hesitation. Do you understand?"
Xie Nie nodded, "Yes, Li Wei."
They walked onto the road and continued in the direction of the city.
Walking towards the city for a little over a quarter of the day, Li Wei only saw tall grass and occasional trees which bore no fruit. She didn't see any other monsters, people or any other vegetation around her. Li Wei's stomach grumbled, she stopped and Xie Nie did as well; she looked at Li Wei in confusion.
Li Wei removed the bag from her shoulders and opened it, inside she saw several loaves of bread, uncooked meat and a few containers of water. She moved her eyes to Xie Nie, "Do you eat?"
Xie Nie shook her head, "No, Li Wei"
Li Wei nodded and extended her hand towards the loaf of bread but when she touched it, a notification flashed.
Li Wei narrowed her eyes, "So I was wasting my energy by carrying around the bag that weighs around two or three kilograms," she thought and touched everything in the bag.
…
"That's everything," Li Wei thought and threw the empty bag into the fields. She opened the system and from it the inventory. She tapped on the container of water and on a loaf of bread; both items appeared in her hands. She extended the container to Xie Nie, "Hold it."

Xie Nie nodded and took the container into her hands without asking any questions, without any hesitation. Li Wei tore off some bread and looked at the bigger part of it, "How do I store items back into inventory," she thought and then said, "Store." Nothing happened.
"Store Item." Nothing happened.
"Store, loaf of bread." Nothing happened.
"Store item, loaf of bread." Nothing happened.
Xie Nie tilted her head in confusion.
Li Wei frowned and extended the small part of the loaf to Xie Nie, "Hold." The girl took the bread into her other hand. Li Wei touched the bread, nothing happened. She then touched it with her thumb but nothing happened and then she tapped the loaf of bread with her index finger and a window opened in front of her. "Finally!" she thought.
Li Wei tapped, and the bread disappeared from her hands. She moved her head to Xie Nie. The slime girl extended both the container and the bread to Li Wei and she took them from her hands.
"Let's go," Li Wei said, put the bread into her mouth and walked forwards.
"Yes," Xie Nie said and walked after her demon lord.
They walked right until the sun disappeared from the sky and the moon replaced it. Stopping Li Wei moved her head to Xie Nie, "Do you sleep?"
Xie Nie nodded, "Yes, Li Wei."
Li Wei nodded inwardly and said, "I see… we are stopping for today."
"Yes, Li Wei."
Li Wei walked off road and laid down on the grass, she rolled over to her side, put her hand below her head as a pillow and closed her eyes. Xie Nie mimicked her demon lord and the two before long fell asleep.
The night quickly passed and the sun rose from the horizon, Li Wei's eyelids wavered and she heard several voices talking and laughing not too far from her. She couldn't make them out as to what they were saying, but she still heard them.
"People? Where did they come from? How come I didn't see anything yesterday?" Li Wei thought and the smell of meat entered her nostrils, "Meat?" she thought and rose up from the ground. On the other side of the road, she saw a carriage, a campfire and three people sitting around that campfire; her thoughts continued, "How did I miss such a big carriage? Or did they move through the night and just arrived here? Regardless, this is a perfect opportunity to get started on Xie Nie's requirements of reaching elite status. Three travellers in the middle of nowhere but before I try anything, I need to see their levels."
"Xie Nie," Li Wei said.
The grass rustled, Li Wei turned her head back and saw the slime slowly get up from the ground, "Good morning, Xie Nie. Do you remember those rules, that I spoke to you yesterday?"

Xie Nie nodded, "Yes, Li Wei."
"Then let's go." Li Wei said, Xie Nie nodded and two of them walked towards the carriage.
When they stepped onto the road, one of the people sitting by the campfire noticed them and said something to the other two. The other two stopped talking and turned to the approaching elf and a redheaded pale human girl.
Li Wei stepped off the road and stopped and looked over the three people that were humans.
Pi Yun was a youth of around sixteen years old, with short black hair, green eyes and average looks.
Pi Yue was a girl of around fifteen years old, with black straight long hair, green eyes and just like her brother she was of average looks.
Zar Gon was of around 30 years old, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
"My one attack deals around 90 damage, I can't attack either Pi Yue or Zar Gon or they might die and Xie Nie might not be able to use her devour skill, but maybe she can use the skill on dead enemies... it's worth testing," Li Wei thought.
"An Elf and a human girl? Where did they come from?" Zar Gon tilted his head in confusion as he thought.
Li Wei moved her eyes to the priest Pi Yue, "First have to take out the healer…"
Pi Yun's eyes widened and a visible blush appeared on his young face as he saw such a beautiful elf and he lowered his head in embarrassment. The old archer looked between the elf and the slime, not keeping his eyes on one of them for too long.
Pi Yue walked up to Li Wei and asked in a soft gentle voice, "Hello, my name is Pi Yue."
"I never killed anyone before because it's impossible to get away with murder, well unless you run the underworld or have a really powerful background or something like that. But here? Who will ever know?"
Pi Yue tilted her head in confusion, "What?"
Li Wei unsheathed her katana and slashed.
The blood splattered on Li Wei and Pi Yue fell down to the ground dead. Her companions eyes widened and they jumped up in shock. Xie Nie moved her eyes and looked at the two shocked men standing by the campfire. Li Wei looked down at the dead body and an old memory flashed through her head.
…
A long time ago when Li Wei was a small girl of barely eight years old. On a day like all others. She went to school as per normal but when she returned, she noticed something strange. The door to her house was slightly opened. Seeing this, she tilted her head in confusion, "Why is it unlocked? Mommy always closes the door…" she thought; then pushed the door open, walked inside and a scream entered her ears, "Stop! I don't want this! Stop! Please! Stop!"
"Mommy?" Li Wei mumbled and ran to the source of the scream but arriving at the source, the living room. She saw something that no one should see, adult and child alike. She saw an unknown man atop of her mother, moving his hips, pistoling.
Li Wei's blinked her eyes and thought, "I will kill him!" she slowly walked away from the living room and into the kitchen; her face devoid of any emotions.
Arriving in the kitchen, Li Wei grabbed the first knife she saw and slowly walked back to the living room. Returning back, she locked her eyes onto the man and slowly walked up to him.
Li Wei's mother saw her daughter standing behind the man and her eyes widened in shock. She wanted to shout and tell Li Wei to run but before she could, the little girl raised the knife into the air and stabbed with both of her hands at the man's neck. The man bellowed in pain, "Ahhh!!!" and the blood spurted out, covering the little girl with it. Ignoring the blood, she pushed the knife deeper and the man lifelessly collapsed on her mother with the knife sticking out of the back of his neck.
The cold expression left Li Wei's face and she smiled with blood all over her, "Mommy, are you okay?"
Li Wei's mother pushed the man from her and embraced the little girl while weeping and repeatedly calling out her daughter's name, "Wei'er! Wei'er! Wei'er! Wei'er!"
"Mommy, are you okay?" Li Wei giggled and thought, "Not like I care, but I know, I can't survive without you…"
Li Wei's mother pulled away, looked at her and a concerned expression appeared on her face, "Are you okay?"
Li Wei nodded, "Mhm."
After this, Li Wei's mother called the police and they deemed it as self-defence and neither Li Wei or her mother were punished. Then Li Wei was taken to a mental hospital to and she was hypnotised so she would forget everything that happened. This was done as her mother wanted her to lead a normal life all without a memory of having killed anyone. The hypnotisation worked and she lived as nothing happened on that day.
…
Li Wei blinked her eyes and thought, "So I have killed before… being a child is another way to get away with murder, I guess…"
"Xie Nie, go, devour them."
