《Rise Of The Elf Demon Lord》Chapter 2: Leaving The Village!

Text continued flashing before Li Wei's eyes.
"Huh? System? Select my class? Become the demon lord?" Li Wei laughed inwardly and her thoughts continued, "I couldn't graduate, I couldn't establish my own company, I couldn't become the richest and most powerful woman in China, I couldn't establish my own country, I couldn't shape the world in my own image. The world itself, realised its foolish mistake and is now apologising and giving me compensations. Very well! I will accept this apology and this system! I will shape this world in my image! I will become the demon lord!"
"Don't you remember me as well?" the elf said.
Li Wei returned from her thoughts and above the elf saw her name, race, level, class and status.
Li Wei nodded in an apologetic manner, "Sorry, can you tell me what is your name?" she said and thought, "Since I don't know any relationships between Riya and Zier or between Riya and anyone else, I should continue feigning amnesia."
Zier lowered her, "My name is Zier."
Li Wei nodded seriously, "Zier? Z—i—e—r, Zier? Zier, Zier… sorry, I can't remember anything," she said and thought, "Not that I ever will."
Zier shook her head, "It's fine since you have amnesia it can take a while for you to recover, let's go, maybe if you see Vartys again your memories will return."
Li Wei shook and lowered her head, "I can't…"
"Why?" Zier tilted her head in confusion.
Li Wei raised her head and clear tears were visible in her eyes, "I am afraid… you said that Vartys and I were like sisters. I am afraid to face her… can you please tell me, about me, about my relationship with Vartys, about you, about this place and about the world. Maybe something can trigger a memory."
Zier nodded seriously, "Alright."
Li Wei smiled, "Thank you."
Zier sighed deeply, "I will start from you. Your name is Riya and you are an elf that doesn't have mana."

Li Wei tilted her head in confusion and frowned inwardly, "What do you mean by that?" she said and thought, "Me inferior? What utter and complete nonsense!"
Zier shook her head, "I don't know the details, only you and your parents knew them but your parents are already…"
Li Wei nodded, "I see—please tell me more," she said and thought, "There is nothing others can do that I can't."
Zier nodded, "Your relationship with Vartys was very good, as I said you two were like sisters and you went everywhere together… after she left you cried for seven days and seven nights," she looked at Li Wei expectedly, "Well?"
Li Wei shook her head, "Nothing… please continue."
"About me next… My name is Zier. We are friends and I am of the guardians of the village."
Li Wei nodded silently.
"Our village is a small elf village, located in the centre of eternity forest. There is not much more to say…"
"What about the world?" Li Wei said and thought, "The thing, I wanted to know about the most."
"The world is very big and beautiful. There are many cities and many races."
"That's it?"
Zier scratched the back of her head, "Sorry, I haven't been out of the forest, so I really don't know."
Li Wei nodded slowly, "I see, thank you," she said and thought, "The only important thing I learned is that, I am in a forest called eternity forest but who knows where that is and I apparently don't have mana… I will need to see for myself whether that is true or not. Even if I highly doubt it."
"Did you remember anything?"
Li Wei shook her head, "Sorry… umm, Zier, I have to take a leak, I will be right back."
Zier nodded, "Okay."
Li Wei nodded and walked into the forest, "I can't go with Zier into the village. I can't meet with Vartys. She and Riya were sisters who were always together. I have to leave now, while I still have the chance."

…
"This should be far enough," Li Wei thought after walking for a little over fifteen minutes, extended her arm, clenched and unclenched her fist; a window opened in front of her.
Li Wei raised the corners of her lips, smiling, "That's more like it," she thought and with her right hand's index finger tapped on the button
"Neat! Is what I would like to say but since I don't even know how many attributes points the classes get, I don't know if this skill is any good," Li Wei thought and tapped the button again.
Li Wei nodded, "Good, what's next," she thought and tapped on the button one last time.
"Hmm? Demon Lord? Perfect!" Li Wei thought and the class selection window appeared in front of her.
Li Wei narrowed her eyes, "It seems my first gift could be considered as an amazing one and the third one coincides what I want to do," she thought and tapped on the class, selecting it.
The window closed and in its place, a new window with a list of choices appeared.
"I should go over all these options, first is ," Li Wei thought and tapped the first option.
In the middle of this window, she saw her character's model. To her surprise, the character looked exactly like the real her with the exception of ears which were longer. She smiled and then frowned, "I am feeling both rage and relief. I am angry that this Riya looks exactly like me but I am relieved that Riya who was my doppelgänger is dead and that I look the same as I did before. Perfect from every angle and more beautiful than anyone that walked, walks or will walk in this world or any other," she thought while looking at her character which was wearing a green shirt, green pants that went to her knees and pointy shoes.
To the left and to the right of the model, she saw the equipment slots; three of these slots had items in them: chest, pants and shoes. To the right of the equipment slots, she saw statistical information of the character and below it, all her skills.
Li Wei looked over everything in great detail.
"I knew it! How can I, the future ruler of the world, not have mana. Even the thought of it was preposterous." She thought and burst into loud laughter.
A few minutes passed and she stopped, "I should check out the other options now," Li Wei thought; returned back and chose option, in the new window, she saw the quest to become the demon king.
Li Wei smiled, "That's the plan," she thought and returned back to the selection once again. She selected the option, a new window with the map opened but she only saw fog of war everywhere except for the place she was in which was . Returning back again, she selected the last option . The window opened and she saw the item that she received as her second gift. She clicked it, and a confirmation window opened.
Li Wei tapped 'yes'; then closed the system menu; unsheathed the weapon that appeared on her waist; she saw the engraving of a dragon on the weapon. "Hmm… It's a beautiful katana, it deserves to be wielded by my hand… I never wielded a weapon so I should practice using it.
…
Zier scratched her head, "It has been over 15 minutes already… what is she even doing?"

However, it's remnants, throwing aside the old order and donning a new mantle of progress aimed to rise above their ancient disputes and go forward as one. Once the Earth reached it's natural limit, and colonies around Terra and Luna had shown promising results, humanity finally decided to make the move to the stars. It was misplaced, however, for humanity's traditional quarrels soon resurfaced and engulfed a now interplanetary empire of many races. As the Earth Empire burned and an intense depression overtook the once optimistic people, some held out hope. They theorized that their problems were born of an inherent sense of home and, in order to rid humanity, now comprising of the Terrans as well as all the other known species of the galaxy, of this burden, decided to move far away from civilized space, into uncharted depths, to start anew. Some 200 years have passed since then, and those hopeful ones have finally found a place to settle on. Firmly planting their flag in paradise, they called this untouched land "Eden" and declared the beginning of a true new age, the age of After Eden.Trouble, however, seemed to still be hounding them, as barely three years after its founding, Eden finds itself at war with a seemingly uncommunicative and uncompromising enemy that far outclasses the odd pirates they were used to facing. A new era of peace, marked by an immediate conflict. Time will tell if Eden, the Grand Experiment, truly is as great as it's supposed to be. ---------------------------------------- This is a sci-fi, character driven, military space drama. One chapter every few days. Two per week minimum. If I feel like it, more than that.Your choices WILL influence the story. It determines whether you get a game over (may discover new information), go around in circles never advancing the story, or advancing the story. Consequences of certain actions will shift Durrendal toward evil or good. The default personality of Durrendal may be ""pervy"" but depending on the actions that he takes it can be reversed. Think of the character as a game character. You are playing a game. It does not require that you make an account to vote. So screw around or advance the story? It's up to you.
