《PERCEPTION (A New Begining)》Forgotten Enemy

Waking up I feel something covering my eyes. I open my eyes and everything is still black.
What the, dammit... AGH, I can't move.
A stern voice comes from in front of me, close in front, "You really are a monster."
"Whose there?"
"I'm someone who you took everything from. What little life I had left you destroyed!"
"You're her father aren't you."
" 'HER!' Do you even know her name?"
"That 'THING' doesn't deserve a name after what she did! She's lucky I left her alive!"
BOOM!
A fist slams into my face and throws me to the side of the chair, pulling myself back up to a sitting position I feel the blood start to pool in my mouth. The feeling reminds me that I’m covered in blood. I can still feel their dried blood on my body. "You think you can talk about her like that!--"
BOOM! Another fist strikes my face, throwing me in the same direction as before.
"--In front of ME!--"
Boom! He hits me with a third punch but it doesn't hurt as bad as the previous. His fourth punch hurts even less. Seems I've about got the timing right, I just have to wait until I start to feel the air on my cheek and then throw my head in the direction of the punch.
"--After what you did in there? I saw what you did you sick fuck. I wasn't sure if you really were as bad as she said, but you're worse. Now I understand why my daughter is so afraid of you, she was the first one to see who you really are!"
Boom.
Boom.
Boom.
Boom...Boom............Boom
By the end of his flurry of punches, my blindfold has fallen off. I see the old, overweight, and sweaty pathetic piece of shit who raised the person who killed Tobie. He's so pathetic he tired himself out just from punching me.
Stairs. One door at the top. A light a few feet in front of me and hanging from the ceiling. No windows. Concrete floor. Small basement maybe? Nothing In front I can see that I could use, in fact there was nothing but him, the light, me, and the chair. He must have planned this for a while.
"Huhh, huhh, huhh, You, huhh, understand now? This is the end for you. You'll live until I decide you die. What? Nothing to say anymore?"
"Say high to that bitch for me, I'll be seeing her--"
He throws a final punch straight to my face. I use the momentum of my head in time with a push from my toes to knock the chair over, backward, cushioning the blow. I lay on the ground unmoving, listening to his heavy breathing.

"I'll be back when you wake up, and then we'll start for real." The light turns off and his breathing fades away into the distance, the sound of footsteps following it up the stairs.
Door slams.
I have to get the fuck out of here, every minute I'm down here is time he can use to hurt Ma. All he has to do is go to my house and he can do whatever he wants.
I struggle against my bonds, the zip ties around my wrists and ankles dig into my skin, the ones on my wrist starting to cut the unprotected skin.
"Gahh." it hurts so much.
Blood starts to drip from my wrists as I try to twist my hands free.
This isn’t going to work, I have to find another way to get free.
I straighten my arms and legs, just barely getting my shoulders past the top of the backrest on the chair and putting them on the ground. From there I lift up my arms and legs with the chair following them. I balance my whole body on my shoulders, upper back, neck, and head. Once I get the chair up as high as I can I then swing my arms and legs as hard as I can, using the force and my body weight to slam the chair to the concrete floor.
The sound of the wood hitting the concrete rings out.
Shit! The chair didn't break, I don't have enough body weight.
I lift it back up as fast as I can, slamming it back down to the ground. One of the legs on the back of the chair snaps.
Dammit, I don't need the back ones to break, my legs are attached to the front. Why couldn't it be one of those chairs where the legs taper down towards the bottom, then I could just slip my foot off. Instead, it's got these fucking grooves that the zip tie is sitting in.
I repeat the process and the other back leg breaks.
Oh no, I hear footsteps coming.
In my panic, I struggle with everything I have, and the zip tie on my left-hand breaks because of the new leverage I have with the back legs gone, I can straighten my body more now.
Just a little--
The door slams open and he runs downstairs, turning the light on.
No, I was so close!
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" he grabs me by my hoodie and lifts me up into the air. He was only able to lift me up to his head and then threw me across the room. My head slammed into the ground as I fell back. I tried to lessen the force of the blow by pushing my head forward when I felt the chair contact the ground but I wasn't strong enough and the force whipped my head down, bouncing off the concrete floor.

Boom! I woke up to a punch in the face.
"Agh, fuck!" My whole face is swollen already? No, how long was I out for?
"You thought you could get away? I already told you this is the end for you, but since you thought you might be able to escape, I made sure you would know it wasn't possible this time."
I looked at my restraints. I was in the same type of chair as before but it must have been a new one, or he put the legs back on the old one. Either way, I now had zip ties running up my legs to my knees and from my wrist to my elbows. Shifting side to side I noticed the chair must have been bolted to the ground now because I couldn't get it to move at all.
"I also notice you know how to take a punch so I'll start with this!"
Boom! He throws a body shot, taking the wind out of my lungs. Boom! He throws a shot to my head, but I can't lean away from it. With the wind knocked out of me my body is frozen, even if I could I have less movement with all the zip ties now.
"Oh yeah, that feels much better!"
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
I wake up. My whole body aches but it isn't anything I haven't felt before. Between all the fights I did, the beating I took, and my feeling of pain being dulled I can bear it. Footsteps come to the top of the stairs and the door opens. He comes down stepping into the light, his hands black and blue.
I wonder if that's what my face looks like right now? Probably worse.
"You survived another day, I'm impressed, but no matter what you will break. You will beg for my forgiveness for what you did to her! Still giving me that face huh? Maybe I'm just confused since it's so swollen. Are you sorry yet? If so you have to say it"
"Kill... you."
Boom, Boom!
"You kill me? You still haven't learned your place. You're not even going to survive."
Boom, Boom
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
Boom, Boom!
I wake up to the light shining in my eyes. Mother fucker keeps the light on so I can't sleep. Fine by me! I'll use the time to work on getting out of here!
How long has it been? I only sleep when I get knocked out or pass out from the pain so I don't have a fucking clue to how much time has passed. More reason to get out of here.
I rock back and forth trying to free my chair from the ground. I don't know how long I spend doing this but I try until I can't move anymore.
Dammit! Just let me GO I don't have time for this.
"Dammit!Dammit!Dammit!...Dammit!"
The door swings open and he walks down the steps. As he's coming down I see him wrapping his hands.
I guess my face broke his hands.
There has to be something I can do?
He stands in front of me getting his hands ready.
All I need is a chance.
"Please."
"Huh, did you say something? Come on now what was it?"
"Please...bathroom."
"Oh, you finally have to use the bathroom. Well tell me something, are you sorry?"
"...Yes..."
"Say it!"
"...I'm sorry."
"You know what? I don't believe you." He grabs the back of the chair next to my head.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Body shot after body shot he throws to my stomach.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Until—
"Did you just piss yourself? Are you fucking kidding me? Now I have to clean it up.
He disappears up the stairs leaving me to sit in my own piss while my pants soak it up.
I'll fucking kill him!
After some time he comes down.
Why is he wearing a respirator?
What's in the bottle?
I barely hear his muffled voice under the respirator, "This is your fault for making me clean up after you." He starts pouring the liquid on my pants.
What the fuck is he-- AHG it burns. IT FUCKING BURNS! "AHHHHHH! AHG, AHHHHHH!"
While I struggle and scream he gets close to my ear. Through my screams, I hear him. "Once I'm finished with you that mother of yours is next, but don't worry I won't let you die yet. Not until you are truly sorry."
The smell of chlorine filled the room and I pass out.

Stilted Waters Edge written by Travis Willier
In the far off Galaxy there is a planet that is 90% water. There are small villages throughout all of the water. These villages were small stilted building's cylinder in shape consisting of two to three levels where people lived a culture based around the water they live above. They pray to fish and monster beings that are said to thrive in the oceans deep. These are ancient people that are descendants of the land; the old ones speak of a Time when men fought over cities and land. Now people pass their time fighting each other over fishing territory and remnants of their distant past. This is their story.

Seeker
The Gods are dead As they bled dry, so did the magic which gave them birth. In the new era of technology, its pathetic remnants must hide in the shadows or be locked away. In the ancient era of magic two beings often stood out: Galileo, an immortal scholar obsessed with knowledge and Angelica, the most loyal servant of the greatest among the now dead Gods. But why are they worthy of mention? Because after millennia of isolation, the two emerge in the new world beyond their reckoning. The entire story is told from the third person, however, each chapter will be told from the perspective of only one of the characters. This will be signified by the first letter of their names after the chapter number to avoid confusion. I submitted this fiction as a [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] as well as a participant in National Novel Writing Month. The original challenge had been to finish this entire faction within the month of November reaching the 55.5k word minimum. This goal had been achieved. I do not own the cover picture
