《The Strength of Duality (Newly Edited)》What Do You Want?

Yun Tian hunted for a while, collecting many demonic beast cores of even late stage demonic beasts with great ease. Afterwards, he went back and rejoined the rest of the wolves and Shen Yu. Then, they once more continued their travels.
The next day, Zan and Zhi broke through as well. With that, their travelling speed greatly increased.
At the same time, Shen Yu felt greater pressure as she wasn’t even in the dantian building realm, yet the rest kept on growing stronger and leaving her even further behind.
After all the exciting events went by, their lives became quite monotonous for a while. The only things that changed were the things Yun Tian and Shen Yu talked about. Besides that, every day they either spent their time travelling, cultivating, hunting, sleeping to let their minds rest, or short periods spent relaxing and unwinding.
As Shen Yu was the weakest, she wasn’t able to go without sleep as well as the rest of the group. Therefore, she would sometimes sleep in Yun Tian’s arms as they travelled. That way they didn’t have to stop when she was the only one who had to sleep.
Yun Tian told her it was fine to stop for her, but she told him no, saying: “I don’t want to slow you guys down anymore.”
Yun Tian could only agree with the pleading look on her face. Inwardly Shen Yu thought, ‘It is nice to sleep in your arms anyway. I actually kind of prefer this.’ She had a big smile on her face thinking this.
Oblivious to her thoughts, Yun Tian promised himself inwardly to make it up to her later.
Their travels continued. Their speed increased with the wolves breaking through, but they still took their time stopping every now and then. That along with the speed they travelled at being lower than Chu Hong’s speed, meant they only reached another town on the seventh day of their travels.

Yun Tian was confident of guaranteeing the wolves safety even against a peak dantian building expert. So, he strode up to the town with the wolves in tow right behind him and Shen Yu next to him. The reason he was going to the gate instead of just directly going in, was because he wanted to be polite and not make them think he was an enemy.
He only wanted to go to the Spirit Market here. He wanted to see if he could get some more high grade qi gathering pills.
He walked up to the gate, instantly alarming the guards standing in front of it. The wolves did look quite threatening after all. The guards were only in the meridian opening realm and were intimidated by the strong presence the wolves gave off..
The one who looked like the captain, immediately took a horn off his waist and blew it making a loud noise.
At the same time, they took out their weapons and got their guards up as they prepared to defend the town.
Yun Tian called out to them as he walked over saying: “Relax, they are with me. We mean no harm to you guys.”
Even with his words, they didn’t let their guards down and continued to tightly cling onto their weapons.
The captain heard him and replied, “If you mean no harm, just stay where you are for a while then.”
Yun Tian shrugged his shoulders and said, “Fine, I will wait for the experts to show up.”
Their group stopped a good distance away from the guards as they continued to watch them warily.
Next to Yun Tian, Shen Yu said angrily, “We haven’t even done anything and they are mad at us. We should just ignore them and go in.”

However Yun Tian just replied dismissively, “Nah, it’s fine. This way I can see if any of those that come have high grade qi gathering pills.”
Yun Tian was sure the horn was for alerting those in town if anything dangerous showed up.
He was right as it didn’t take long before people started showing up. It appeared that the horn sound was treated quite seriously as someone showed up before even a full minute passed. He appeared at great speeds before stopping in front of the guards causing a great gust of air.
Even through the commotion, Yun Tian saw it was an old man and he could even tell that he was in the peak dantian building realm. Still, he felt the aura he gave off was weaker than Chu Hong’s.
The old man arrived and immediately saw that Yun Tian’s group stood there waiting. He didn’t go up to them immediately, but asked the guard captain behind him, “Why did you blow the horn? Because of these two and the wolves behind them?”
The guard nodded and told the truth saying: “They just showed up a few moments ago. I asked them to wait there and they did as I asked. I didn’t know what to do about them though.”
With that, the old man ignored him and put all his focus on Yun Tian. He wasn’t able to gauge his strength, but he could tell he was the leader of the group. This was the fact that worried him most. He could tell the wolves were quite strong and they definitely wouldn’t be led by an ordinary person. All of this put together made him raise his guard.
So, he cautiously questioned Yun Tian, “What do you want with our town?”
Since he couldn't gauge Yun Tian’s strength and they haven’t shown any ill intent, he decided to play things passively for the moment.
Yun Tian replied calmly saying: “We are merely travelling by and I wanted to see if there were any high grade qi gathering pills in town.”
The old man raised his brows at that. Since Yun Tian was looking for pills of that grade, he thought Yun Tian had to at least be in the late dantian building realm.
With how young Yun Tian looked, he couldn’t help but be surprised.
Still, he didn’t let his surprise show and he wasn’t slow in saying: “Unfortunately I doubt anyone in town would have any and even if someone does, I seriously doubt they would want to sell them to you. That includes me. I don’t have any.”

Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.

Damien looked up, hair sodden with rain, his face battered beyond recognition, his lips curled into a snarl. He had gone past the point of being frightened; he was tired of his weakness. He spoke, voice wavering, mist floating from his mouth in the coldness: "I want them dead. I want everyone who stabbed me in the back; dead." The Wyvern smiled, rows of teeth exposed, "Then sacrifice it. Sacrifice your humanity." - The story of a bastard within a crippled family, who beyond all odds becomes known as the Greatest Swordsman to live: the one that, even the Gods, would someday fear.
