He tried to wear Yun Tian down and use his superior skills to beat Yun Tian’s brute strength with skill. This obviously did not work as Yun Tian continued to block his attacks with the same moves he threw out. Each time he blocked a strike and witnessed the Elder using the skill he slowly gained more comprehension into the skill.

Previously, he had raised his comprehension over the Deadly Flash skill to complete mastery during a life and death fight.

This time he didn’t have a life threatening danger to push him, but he had someone using the skill in front of him, which would be just as useful if not better to learn from. At least for as long he remained behind in comprehension.

At first, the main reason Yun Tian could hold on in their fight was his overwhelming strength. As time went on though, he used less and less strength with each clash.

His opponent noticed this too and thought that Yun Tian was running out of endurance. The Elder pushed himself harder and used all of his strength thinking Yun Tian was about to fall. He struck with increasing vigor thinking about the rewards he would get.

Even after a long time passed in their fight though, Yun Tian was still unharmed and hanging in there just fine.

Eventually he realised that while Yun Tian was using less strength in each clash, he still was not pushed back at all.

After their last clash, the Elder realised something and jumped backwards. Yun Tian didn’t stop him so when he stopped moving he said something which some people had already realised, but was extremely astonishing for others.

He pointed his finger and stuttered while saying “You, you how is this possible? How can your comprehension of a skill increase so quickly.”

Their fight had gone on for a while as Yun Tian tried to stall it out for as long as he could. Looking at his opponent now, Yun Tian said “It is just as you said before, skill is better than brute strength, but does your meagre skill count as anything?”

With that he brandished his sword and showed exactly what the Elder had been using before. His sword swing was like a stream flowing along the land. He had reached grasping spirit in his comprehension just like the Elder. His qi flowed along with his sword swings and materialized like a stream with his sword.

The Elder gasped and thought ‘This kid’s comprehension is already deeper than even mine.’

With this he turned around and said “Clan Leader, you have seen it for yourself. This kid’s base strength is greater than mine and now even his grasp over my strongest skill is now higher than mine. Not only have I failed to defeat our enemy, I have made him stronger. I am sorry, I have failed you.”

At the start of the fight, Chen Long’s expression lightened up at the thought that Yun Tian was just trying to scare them. Part way into the fight he noticed something amiss as Yun Tian had started to use the flowing stream sword style with greater skill as time went on.

When he reached grasping spirit with the skill, he finally realized what was going on, but by then it was too late to stop the fight.

“It’s fine, even until now I still don’t know the extent of his strength. If he is stronger than even me, what could you have done in the first place?”

Hearing this everyone gasped.

They all thought ‘No, it can’t be possible that this kid is stronger than a late dantian building expert who is also the leader of a clan.’

“Stand back and let me handle this” Chen Long said

He didn’t want any surprises anymore and he clearly couldn’t use his underlings to estimate Yun Tian’s strength any further so he could only go himself.

“Thank you clan leader.”

With that he started to walk back to his clan members.

At this point though, Yun Tian who had been silent the entire time spoke up and said something which surprised everyone.

“So is our earlier agreement off?”

At this the Elder who was walking away said “What does whatever you say matter?”

At that Yun Tian stopped bothering to suppress his strength and used fleeting steps to the greatest extent he could.

When Chen Long heard what Yun Tian said and then how his Elder responded, he thought something bad might happen so upon seeing Yun Tian make a move he tried to stop him, but Yun Tian had acted first and was much faster than he expected.

No one even heard anything, even their eyes only saw Yun Tian move like he was barely perceptible in the world and flash forward.

The next thing Chen Long knew, Yun Tian was holding his sword in front of the Elder’s throat.

He was shocked at his speed and wondered if he could keep up with it.

‘I could barely follow his movements. I don’t think I can win our fight if it does happen.’

He stopped thinking about that though since Yun Tian was currently threatening the life of one of his Elders.

Chen Long shouted “What are you doing? Don’t kill him!”

The Elder was completely defenseless and he felt that if he moved so much as an inch Yun Tian would kill him, so he stayed as still as possible. He had to rely on his clan leader to get him out of this mess.

Yun Tian replied to Chen Long saying “He wanted to ignore our agreement so I was going to just kill him first and then take his belongings.”

There was a huge audience around them currently. The place was filled with common people from the town and cultivators from the clans. They all came to spectate this event which involved two of the strongest clans and someone who murdered one of their Elders.

They all held their breath though in anticipation of the events to come.
