Yun Tian laughed and said “You sure are smarter than the rest of your clan members huh?”
If the Chen clan decided to attack him, he could have easily killed the Elder next to him first before they could do anything.
Yun Tian followed what he said before as he took the man’s spatial bag and sword. After that he picked him up and tossed him to the Chen clan where an elder caught him.
“Clan leader I will take care of this.” Said a mid dantian building Elder of the Chen clan.
Chen Long nodded his head and the middle aged mid dantian building Elder walked closer to Yun Tian.
He only walked forward a little bit and then stopped though.
Instead of attacking immediately, he asked Yun Tian “You have proven that you are quite strong, but I wonder if when you killed Chen Hu was it in a straight up fight like right now?”
This Elder had inspected Chen Hu’s body and from the angle of the cut on his neck he determined that the attack had been from behind.
Yun Tian didn’t know this though and said “I don’t know why you say this, but you are in fact right. I killed him with a sneak attack.”
“Ha, see Clan leader, I think this kid is just trying to scare us, but I saw through it.”
Chen Long thought his words were reasonable, but he did not let his guard down since he had seen with his own eyes Yun TIan’s strength.
Yun Tian smirked and said “Since I am just trying to scare you, why don’t you attack and find out if you should be scared?”
While he had taken out the Elder with a sneak attack, he could have done it in a fair fight too and he had only grown stronger since then.

“Clan leader, I will take care of this and return our Elders’ possessions to them after his death.”
Chen Long merely nodded and kept a close eye on Yun Tian.
With that the Elder took out a sword and sped toward Yun Tian.
Yun Tian looked more serious than before, but he still didn’t bother to even take out his sword. He decided to handle this Elder just the same as the others.
He just had to put a little more effort into using his movement technique Fleeting Steps. He had already reached complete mastery with the skill during his first real fight as a dantian building expert.
Since then he has trained and used it along with two other movement techniques. While he has not grasped them to as good of an extent, it did help him somewhat when it came to grasping more skills including fleeting steps.
He has also greatly increased his strength since then. All of this combined allowed him to push the skill to its limits. Just a little further and he would reach perfection with the skill allowing it to perform even better than its original level.
There was not only his increased grasp of the movement skill though, as his strengthened body and greater cultivation allowed him to move much faster by themselves. He easily outclassed the Elder in speed.
If he actively strengthened his body with demonic qi he could go even faster, but this speed alone was far more than the Elder could keep up with.
This Elder didn’t do anything flashy and just used a sword technique Yun Tian recognized, flowing stream sword style.
Yun Tian was about to wipe him out quickly just like the others using his great speed, but upon realizing the sword style the Elder was using he dropped that intention.

He quickly had an idea and decided to follow through with it ‘This Elder won’t pose any real danger as long as I’m careful. Instead of just taking him out quickly, I can use him to practice the flowing stream sword style. I suppose he practices the Fluid Footwork skill too.’
So instead of using fleeting steps to instantly flash next to the Elder and take him down, he took out his sword and waited for the Elder to get close.
Seeing that Yun Tian had taken out his sword, the Elder thought his guess was right and rejoiced inside.
Then, he continued and swung his sword at Yun Tian.
Yun Tian observed the strike and he guessed that the Elder had comprehended the skill to grasping spirit as his attack contained the essence of a flowing stream in his attack.
This time, it was Yun Tian’s turn to rejoice as his opponent having a high mastery of the skill meant he would learn more from him.
Yun Tian was only at grasping form with the skill so he paid high attention to the Elder’s attack and tried to comprehend what he was doing in his attack.
He didn’t want to completely overwhelm the Elder so he restricted his strength to be slightly higher than the Elder’s. Then he attacked the Elder with the same move he used.
Upon seeing this the Elder was angered since he knew the skill Yun Tian was using belonged to the Chen clan. He also laughed inside since he realised his mastery over the skill was much greater than Yun Tian’s.
‘I will teach this kid a lesson to not use his meagre skills in front of a master.’
Their blades finally clashed and the Chen clan Elder was stunned to find that Yun Tian was not viciously knocked away like he thought he would be.
He quickly thought of a reason. His guess was on point as Yun Tian restricted his strength so that it would be just enough to clash with him despite his skill mastery being lower.
Despite this the Elder laughed aloud and said “Your superior strength won’t allow you to be victorious. Don’t you know skill is more important than brute strength?”
Yun Tian said nothing since he was deeply immersed in the feeling his opponent’s attack gave off.
Seeing that Yun Tian did not respond and was deep in thought the Elder attacked again using the sword style to try and overwhelm Yun Tian. If he could not win in strength, he would win in speed and his grasp over the skill.

Life in the New World
On the Hiatus: I began writing this novel when I was, in all honesty, very bad at writing. I hope to revisit creative writing in the near future and I plan to, at some point in time, revisit this. I am flattered that many people have taken the time to read this story, but it is not what I intend to start with, as it will likely need a hard rewrite in order to correct many of the more glaring issues it has. Join our hero and follow his exciting adventure through a newly changed world! WARNING their will be violence, profanity,, and gore in this fiction. if any of these make you uncomfortable this is not a story for you turn around and walk away now!!!
