The qi was transformed into a greater density and purity. Then some was absorbed into the core’s structure enlarging and strengthening it. This wasn’t the end though as he felt a large amount of the demonic qi within the core wash through his body almost as if it was refining it.

The qi within the core traveled throughout his body with some of it being absorbed by his body. The rest only made several cycles through his body and then returned to the core.

Throughout the entire process, Yun Tian felt pain even more intense than when the pain he endured during the breakthrough of his regular cultivation from absorbing the qi into his dantian.

The pain was the most intense he had ever experienced physically in both his lives. He almost blacked out, but held on with his sheer willpower since he didn’t know what might happen if he did black out.

After it was done he was mentally exhausted from enduring the pain, but physically his body felt full of energy and he could tell his body's strength had increased dramatically.

He didn’t get his chance to fully check his gains since when he regained his bearings he noticed Shen Yu had rushed over and was currently holding him in her arms.

He opened his eyes and saw Shen Yu’s tear stricken face. He was slightly confused since he was sitting in a meditative posture with the demonic core in his hands a moment before.

He asked Shen Yu “What happened? Why are you holding me and crying.”

He could see how relieved Shen Yu was when she saw him open his eyes and she said “I thought you were going to die! A little while ago you suddenly dropped the core in your hands you were using and then fell backwards.”

“I immediately ran over when I noticed this and now here we are. You scared me!”

“Did something go wrong are you alright Dage?!”

“Let me check Shen Yu. I will tell you the whole story after I finish inspecting the core. Give me one second.”

With that Shen Yu waited anxiously as Yun Tian felt for the state of the core in his chest.

When he sensed the state of it, he smiled as he felt his breakthrough was successful.

There was less qi inside it just as the breakthrough with his dantian, but the demonic qi there was just as pure and dense as the qi in his dantian. The core was also larger and he could tell the walls were stronger.

He opened his eyes again and said “I broke through with the demonic core just fine.”

Then he continued to tell her about the breakthrough and how he was pretty sure the pain was from his body being refined by the demonic core. He couldn’t wait to see just how strong his body was now.

Shen Yu was relieved hearing this and pinched his cheek saying “Don’t scare me!”

Upon this happening he thought about something.

‘Along with my bodily strength increasing, my body's toughness should have increased just as much.’

He decided to test this so he said “Hey Shen Yu how does my skin feel?”

Hearing this she was stunned and blushed slightly since she thought Yun Tian was asking her if she liked touching him.

Yun Tian seeing her face asked “Why are you blushing? I meant is it soft or rough? Does it seem durable? Try scratching me?”

Hearing this Shen Yu blushed even more since this meant she was the only one thinking those thoughts. She still followed what he said though thinking ‘I can get back at him for making me think that by scratching him a little if he wants me too.’

Her nails weren’t exceptionally long, but they were long enough so that she could attempt to scratch Yun Tian’s arm that he held out for her.

She used her nails and just placed them on his arm and moved them a little since she didn’t really want to hurt him. She applied almost no force. Yun Tian seeing that her nails didn’t hurt at all said “Try using a little more force. I’ll tell you when to stop.”

With that she kept on pressing harder since he said so and eventually Yun Tian said “Let’s try something else.”

With that Shen Yu stopped, but froze when she saw Yun Tian take out a sword from his spatial bag.

“What are you doing?!”

Yun Tian merely replied “Testing something” and continued what he was doing.

He only took out a normal sword deciding to start his way from there and slowly increase the grade of it.

He didn’t apply very much force since if he applied a lot of force it would be his strength causing the wound and not really from the blade if he did that.

He tried to cut himself with it and found that it couldn’t leave so much as a mark. Seeing this both of them were shocked, although more so Shen Yu.

After that Shen Yu felt his skin and said “Your skin feels as if it has only grown softer and not rough at all. Yet it’s durability is so high.”

Yun Tian however focused on the fact that she knew his skin had grown softer, but quickly ignored it and moved on.

She once again blushed a little saying that, but didn’t get distracted. She asked “Going to try a better one?”

Yun Tian nodded and took out the sword he had been using most of his life. It was not quite a spirit grade sword and could be considered as a little worse than an early spirit grade sword.

He attempted to cut himself with it once again and it didn’t so much as make him bleed.

He didn’t say anything at that and once again took out a better sword. The early spirit grade grade sword he had been using was the best one out of the four he had. It was only a little better than the others he had though so the difference was not that great.

It was still the best he had though so he attempted to cut himself with it.

At the sight Shen Yu’s breathing quickened since she knew he took out an early spirit grade sword. She worried he would hut himself as she watched closely, ready to help at any time.
