《The Strength of Duality (Newly Edited)》Staring Contest
Advertisement
Both sides released their strengths in full and they were basically evenly matched.
The wolves stared at the human cultivators and you could see an intelligent gleam in the wolves’ eyes. Especially the leader. He looked at the human cultivators, mainly focusing on Chu Hong. Then, he looked at his own wolves.
He once again looked back at the cultivators who had their guards raised to the maximum looking at them. It devolved into a staring contest for a while since neither side made a move.
In the end, the lead wolf made eye contact with Chu Hong and the two of them maintained this for a while.
The wolf suddenly looked at the sky and released a howl. All of the human cultivators tensed up thinking it was the wolf ordering the others to attack. They relaxed though when the wolves turned around and left back into the forest.
The last one to leave was the leader who had a reluctant expression while looking at Chu Hong and the town behind him.
Chu Hong noticed this and it made him wonder even more why these wolves were here.
The leader finally left too and the cultivators completely relaxed.
Chu Hong let out a breath and Feng Bao congratulated “Ah that was scary, luckily your plan worked or else who knew how many would have died.”
Chu Hong said back to him “Yes, it would have been a difficult fight to say the least. It is not completely over yet though.”
He made sure everyone was paying attention and said “Everyone, please help me spread the word that no one should leave town for a while. It is best if we don’t provoke those wolves in any way for now and it also might not be safe outside right now.”

Everyone understood what he was saying so they all agreed saying “We understand clan leader Hong. Rest assured we will spread word right away.”
Chu Hong concluded the event saying “Alright then everyone it is safe for now so let’s head back.”
With that the normal clans headed back into town.
When the Chen clan tried to leave though the members of the Feng clan got in their way. Chu Hong noticed this so he and his clan members also stayed around.
No one else wanted to be involved in their fights so besides the three clans no one else stayed around.
Chu Hong still remembered what happened earlier so he asked “Brother Bao what is this all about? Why is your stance towards the Chen clan so aggressive lately?”
While gritting his teeth Feng Bao said “Brother Hong you know me. If they had not provoked me first I would not bother with them. But! They have gone too far this time!”
Seeing the seriousness on Feng Bao’s face Chu Hong knew that he had to do something, but first he had to understand what actually happened.
What Feng Bao said next though made his expression turn ugly.
“Brother Hong, they sent an Elder to kill my daughter! She almost died. If it was not for the kindness of a passing expert she would have died!”
Hearing this Chen Long said in response “Do you have any proof of this?”
Hearing that Feng Bao smiled and said “I do in fact.”
Then he took out his spatial bag and took something out of it.
When they saw what it was, the Chen clan member’s expression turned ugly.
Chen Long thought of an idea though and upon seeing the corpse said “So it was you Feng Bao! I can’t believe it was you! Our Elder had gone missing for several days and we worried about him. It turns out he had died in your hands and to think you would also try to make up some ridiculous story.”

Seeing the Chen clan trying to turn this against them the Feng clan got even madder.
Seeing that they were about ready to attack each other Chu Hong knew he had to stop this so he yelled “Brother Bao can we talk in private for a moment?”
With that he basically grabbed Feng Bao and pulled him off to the side. Chen Long watched this all with a smile since he knew what Chu Hong was going to tell him.
Once they went a little away and they quieted their voices to the minimum Chu Hong started to tell Feng Bao something. None of them except for Chen long knew what they were talking about so when an ugly faced Feng Bao came back and said “Feng clan follow me home” they were all stunned.
Nevertheless they all followed their leader's command and followed him back into town.
When Chu Hong came back Chen Long acted really grateful and said “Thank you clan leader Hong for talking on the Chen clan’s behalf and straightening things out.”
After that he took his clan members, along with the dead body, and left. Finally only the Chu clan was left. Except for the late dantian building experts and Chu Bao the rest were confused as to what had happened.
Chu Hong didn’t explain and they left back into the city with his command.

The events with wolves ended during the night and the next morning Yun Tian woke up with Shen Yu still clinging onto him.
He didn’t move at all and let her sleep. He just felt how his condition was.
‘I really needed that rest. At least all the exhaustion is gone now.’
He looked at Shen Yu and thought ‘She is really so cute and defenseless. She reminds me of those moe characters back on earth. Of course Shen Yu is even cuter.’
He ran his hand through her hair and thought about how cute she was.
Shen Yu happened to wake up just at this moment.
She was groggy and at first was just enjoying the moment, but quickly realized that she was holding onto Yun TIan with him running his hand through her hair. She also noticed the smile on his face. She thought ‘How embarrassing!’
Yun Tian had not noticed that she woke up since he was not paying too much attention and had mostly spaced out along with her not moving at all.
He realized she was up though when she sat up straight and said “Good morning Dage. I will go ask Auntie if she needs any help.”
She immediately left the room with a face as red as it could be.
Yun Tian was confused at first, but then realized that although they usually treated each other as siblings they were not in fact blood related and their behavior earlier could be seen as quite intimate and embarrassing.
This also made him slightly embarrassed, especially when he thought of how much he loved it when she was holding onto and laying on him. Especially her cute face and hair.
