《The Strength of Duality (Newly Edited)》Wu Chen’s Generosity

Since Yun Tian was now asking for his help Wu Chen thought that his injuries might have suddenly gotten worse and Yun Tian noticed that thus asking for his help. This made him not want to waste any time and said to the other guards there “You guys will have to do without me for right now.”
“Let’s go to my house. It is quite close to here. Would you like me to carry you so that you don’t have to walk?”
Seeing how far he was going Yun Tian was touched, but still said “I’m fine let’s just get there quickly.”
With that they walked into town and Wu Chen led them to where he lived.
He explained on the way that he lived near this gate and that is why he was assigned by the Chu clan to guard this gate.
They walked through the streets and passed by many people who were curious seeing them, but they ignored them and hurried on. They eventually reached Wu Chen’s house.
His house looked like any normal citizen’s house, but was still more luxurious. Although Wu Chen was not a dantian building expert he was still a cultivator and guard who worked for the Chu Clan. He obviously was respected and had money.
When they reached there Wu Chen called out to those inside.
“Ming Yu prepares some clean water and bandages quickly!”
Hearing him call out a woman with black hair and average looks who looked to be in her late twenties came out of the house.
She quickly looked to see what happened and seeing that Wu Chen was fine she relaxed slightly. Then she noticed Yun Tian and realized why he called out for the stuff earlier.
Wu Chen berated her “Why didn’t you go get the stuff immediately!”

She was upset at him yelling at her, but knew she was in the wrong so she quickly went back inside to prepare what he asked.
Seeing this Yun Tian couldn’t help but saying “You don’t have to worry. I have been injured for a while already. One or two minutes won’t make a difference.”
Yun Tian himself had noticed that his injuries weren’t bleeding as much anymore anyway as time went on. He didn’t know why that was the case, but it still made him less worried.
Hearing that Wu Chen relaxed slightly and then said “Let’s go inside and treat your injuries quickly still.”
Yun Tian replied politely “Alright thank you for helping me. I will repay you later.”
Wu Chen however got mad at him.
“Stop with your nonsense. You are still so young and by yourself. How could I not help you so stop with that stuff about repayment. I wouldn’t have the heart to call myself a good father if I didn't help kids in need.”
Yun Tian could only stifle a little laugh at Wu Chen treating him as a defenseless child and only said “Still thanks. You have my gratitude. Even if they have kids most wouldn’t help strangers even if they were kids.”
Wu Chen gave up on trying to make Yun Tian stop thanking him.
By the side Shen Yu said in her head ‘While I don’t like this guy calling us kids, he is still helping Tian so can be considered a good person who I should be nice to.’
After that she could only think about Yun TIans injuries again though.
They quickly walked into the house with Wu Chen leading them inside.
When they walked inside Yun Tian wanted to look around, but he was distracted by a little girl who looked around four years old. She had black hair just like her mother. She rushed up to Wu Chen and shouted “Daddy, Daddy your back!”

“Yes Honey Bun Dad is home, but there is an emergency so I will play with you later. Can you go wait in your room for a little bit for daddy? ”
He didn’t want her to see Yun Tian’s injuries or bother him so she asked this.
She pouted for a second and then said “You promise to play later?”
Wu Chen said after “I promise.”
After that she said “Yay!” and then ran up the stairs to her what Yun Tian assumed was her room on the second floor.”
Yun Tian complimented “Your daughter seems very cute and obedient.”
Wu Chen smirked slightly hearing that.
After that Yun Tian observed the house he was in. While it couldn’t be compared to his house on earth or the courtyard he used to live in in the Yun clan, it was still better than an average home in this world. It was larger than a normal person’s home and looked more luxurious.
Wu Chen quickly had him follow him though so he stopped looking around.
“Come sit down so we can treat your injuries.”
Wu Chen had Yun Tian come over to where they usually ate except he moved away the table that was there to clear a space.
Yun Tian sat on the ground and they waited for Wu Chen’s wife to bring back the water.
They didn’t wait long since she soon brought the water, some rags, and plenty of bandages.
He thanked his wife and then talked to Yun Tian again. “Thank you honey. Quickly let me see your wounds.”
Shen Yu cut in and said “Let me help you Dage.”
She came over to him and it was obvious that she was nervous, but she calmed her hands and carefully unwrapped the bandage on his arm.
Yun Tian watched on and saw that Shen Yu was on the verge of crying when she saw the bloodied rags. He quickly comforted her.
“Don’t worry I am fine. You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.”
She quickly said “No! I am the one who has to help you.”
With that even Wu Chen and his wife who were watching were surprised with her passion.
She continued to undress the bandages. When she finished, everyone in the room looked mouths agape at the wounds on his arm. This included Yun Tian.
There were still the obvious marks of holes in his arm from being bitten and torn apart by the wolf. Shen Yu was absolutely horrified by the wound on his arm. So were Wu Chen and his wife.
They each thought ‘How could this kid get so injured and not be crying right now. He is quite brave for withstanding this.’
That wasn’t what surprised them the most though.

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
