"Have you noticed anything wrong yet? Who knows what absorbing those demonic beast cores could do to you. Are you sure it is okay to do that? What if something goes wrong!?"

Yun Tian honestly did not know what to say. He had basically had the same thoughts as Shen Yu. He still didn't know himself if something bad would happen. He didn't want to say that though. Anything could happen and he didn’t want her to worry for no reason.

"There have been no problems and the demonic beast core was really beneficial so I will continue using them."

Shen Yu turned herself around and sat in his lap. Yun Tian thought it was kind of funny, but he let her be and just waited since she had an expression like she was thinking.

Eventually Shen Yu came to a conclusion and said "I actually have a few ideas about why you can absorb the demonic beast cores."

Yun Tian was surprised and quickly said "Really! Telly me!"

"One thing was that you either have the characteristics of demonic beasts or you are part demonic beast somehow. Another thing I thought of was that for some reason you can absorb energies that others normally can't."

"That is just two ideas I had thought of. We can test them out in the future. The second one should be easy to test if we can find something to test with."

Hearing her out, Yun Tian was amazed and said "That's my Shen Yu! You always can think about these things better than me. You’re the best!"

He said all this while ruffling her hair and Shen Yu just smiled while being praised.

"You are right. We just need to find some other type of qi for me to try and absorb. If I can't then I probably have the features of demonic beasts for some reason."

"That is all for the future though. Right now I am actually getting close to a breakthrough and want to train some new skills. How about we head out into the wilderness so I can hunt some demonic beasts?"

Shen Yu replied "Can't you just sell the items we have first then go hunt?"

She was still worried about the demonic beast cores and would rather he just absorbed qi from pills.

"I do have some stuff I could just sell, but I would like to learn the skills first and then sell everything together. Besides demonic beast cores greatly increase my cultivation so I was thinking of using them to breakthrough."

He also thought inwardly 'I'm guessing that my breakthrough might not be easy too. I had to use a qi gathering pill before. Who knows if I have to do something drastic this time too.'

He never told Shen Yu about the circumstances of his breakthrough and he didn't plan to. He both didn't want her to worry and didn't know what she might think about it.

He believes that the two Yun Tians just combined into one person, but he didn't know what she might think.

Shen Yu not knowing what was going through Yun Tian's head said "Alright then. I'll do whatever you say. We can find a place to cultivate and train skills not far from town."

Yun Tian said alright let's go then.

They went downstairs and when the innkeeper saw them he carefully inquired "Will young hero and young miss be coming back? Should I hold your room for you?"

Yun Tian had an idea of his plans for the next few days so he said "We probably won't be back."

Yun Tian was sure he saw the man heave a sigh of relief, but he didn't say anything. The other day he did use violence in front of the man and had probably scared him. The man was not a cultivator after all.

He did not know his way around town outside of remembering the way they came in so instead of finding another gate he went back to the same one.

They walked back to the gate and on the way there they attracted the gazes of many. They arrived during the night before so there was no one around to notice them, but now it was day and everyone was out of their homes doing things.

While this town was indeed larger than their hometown Yun Tian knew that it wouldn’t get many travellers coming by. It didn’t help that they were young and very pleasing to look at.

Yun Tian may not be dressed extravagantly, but from his gaze alone one could almost see his valiantness. Shen Yu had no gaze that mesmerized others, but she didn’t need it. Her looks alone were enough.

They finally made it to the gate and he was just wondering if the same guard would be here when someone called out to him. “Hey Li Hao and Li Yu. Good morning.”

He looked and he found it was the same guard. Wu Chen walked over and since he had indeed been nice to them Yun Tian decided it was fine to talk with him for a while.

Yun Tian said “Good morning Wu Chen.”

Shen Yu followed with the same greeting, but in her sweet delicate voice. “Good Morning Wu Chen.”

Wu Chen was happy to see them again so he started to talk to them again. Yun Tian also learned he was right about rumors spreading.

“Hey I am sorry about the inn last night. I heard that there was a drunkard who tried to harass you two. Also, thank you for holding back. I heard you could move faster than the people could see so you must be quite strong.”

“Although, I should have insisted on helping you book your room so none of this would have happened.”

Wu Chen said this, but the rumors still came from non-cultivators in the end. He would need to see Yun Tian demonstrate his strength himself to get a grasp of it.

“No it’s not your fault. You helped us plenty last night and wouldn’t even take the money I tried to give you. I insisted we were fine and it was no problem really.”

Wu Chen was happy to hear this, but he still asked what he was wondering. “Alright then, but I wonder what you two are doing today. Are you coming here to see me or are you leaving town again?”
