《The Strength of Duality (Newly Edited)》Heart

When Yun Tian realized what had happened he was furious. He was furious at himself and the Grand Elder. He did not let his emotions control him though and calmed himself down as he thought about how to best handle this.
"Yun Tian cripple your own cultivation and I will let you both go. I do not truly wish to kill you two. I will even die myself after the drawbacks hit so that will be considered as my consequence, but don't make me harm Shen Yu too."
In his grasp Shen Yu was scared, but she was mostly just blaming herself for being too weak. She screamed "Tian don't worry about me. Do whatever you need to. It doesn't matter if I die."
When he saw this happening Yun Tian had no idea what to do. He thought 'How can I do this without hurting Shen Yu. I am too weak. If only I wasn't so indecisive and went for the kill earlier. Do I really need to cripple my cultivation? I can't lose Shen Yu.'
'No even if I cripple my cultivation and protect her now. That means I can't protect her in the future. It will be the same in the future where I will be too weak. I need to overcome my weakness. I need to find a way to do this.'
So Yun Tian gave up on giving in to his demands and put his all into focusing on finding a way to kill the grand elder. He knew the main thing would be being able to be faster than the Grand Elder. if he was able to be faster than the Grand Elder then he wouldn't be able to hurt Shen Yu.
So instead of doing anything immediately he put his all into comprehending ways to be faster. He was already faster than the Grand Elder by a little bit, but he needed to be even faster. He thought about all he had experienced including comprehending the wind, killing intent, demonic beasts, and his body.

The Grand Elder himself was on a time limit because of the pill so he couldn't let Yun Tian draw this out for too long. So he said "You have one minute to decide."
So they sat there staring at each other with one focused on the others movements and the other trying to find a way to become faster.
When the Grand Elder was halfway done counting Yun Tian seemed to feel something inside his body. When he felt for it he realized it was extremely similar to the qi he absorbed from the demonic beasts. At first he thought 'Oh no is this qi attacking me from inside!?'
When he calmed down though he realized it was not attacking him at all and then he thought 'Can I use this qi somehow. I know demonic beasts use qi to focus on strengthening their bodies. Maybe I can do the same.'
He quickly tried to get the hang of it and he realized he really could control it. He let the qi flow through his body and strengthen his limbs. He instantly felt his body greatly increase in strength.
He was very happy, but did not relax and only hoped this would give him a great enough increase in speed. By now the Grand Elder had counted down to seven seconds left so Yun Tian had no time left to waste.
He quickly poured all the strength he could into his legs and used his movement technique the best he could. He seemed to reach another form of enlightenment in this life or death moment. It wasn't like before where he moved with the wind and had no air resistance. Now the wind moved with him and actively increased his speed.
He sped towards the Grand Elder with the fastest speed he had ever used in his life and before the Grand Elder could react Yun Tian had closed in and he was close enough to attack. The Grand Elder was not ready and his defensive technique was not ready. There was a massive amount of killing intent gathered into Yun Tian's blade and with his extreme speed using his greatly increased strength there was a flash of light that not even the Grand Elder could react to.

The next moment the blade against Shen Yu's throat fell to the ground and there was a thump. The next moment was silence. Shen Yu turned around and she saw the Grand Elder's headless body on the ground. A little further back Yun Tian could be seen on the laying ground exhausted.
Shen Yu was stunned, but immediately after she disregarded everything and went to make sure Yun Tian was alright. She ran towards him and called out "Are you ok Tian!"
She cried and jumped on him to hug him on the ground.
Yun Tian reassured her saying "I and alright Shen Yu, just exhausted."
Yun Tian had poured all his energy into that attack and even went beyond his limits.
They laid there for a while with Yun Tia comforting the crying Shen Yu. She said "I am sorry, I am too weak. Just leave me behind. All I can do is cause troubles and hold you back."
Yun Tian was stunned and quickly replied "I don't care Shen Yu. I will never leave you. I will always protect you. We are all we have left. It doesn't matter who protects who, we have to."
Yun Tian truly didn't care about his aspect and only wished for Shen Yu to be safe. He didn't blame her at all. Shen Yu though didn't see things the same way and inside her heart she blamed herself for being too weak. Yun Tian waited for her to stop crying and said "Let me recover for a while first. I used up all my strength before."
Shen Yu listened to him and got off him and gave him space. Yun Tian quickly sat up and started meditating to regain his energy.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
