《The Strength of Duality (Newly Edited)》Scouting

After the fight Yun Tian started to dismantle the corpse while saying to Shen Yu, "Xiao Yu now you can see how strong I am so you don't have to worry, but even with me being this strong you should never underestimate opponents and that is why I had you promise me that stuff earlier. Anything can happen, especially when you act arrogant."
Shen Yu said happily, "I know Dage, I was just happy to see how strong you are! But are demonic beasts really that strong? I think you can easily beat them."
Yun Tian while putting the valuable parts like the claws and hide in the bag on his back said, "I don't know how strong they are exactly either, but I won't underestimate them. It is important to understand your opponents thoroughly beforehand so now that I understand my strength we will move on to demonic beasts. That means you have to stay far back."
Shen Yu replied, "I know Dage, let's get going. I can't wait to see you kill demonic beasts."
Yun Tian thought, 'You aren't going to watch at all l though.'
So they left the region and went deeper into the forest farther away from the town. The deeper into the forest you went the stronger the beasts, so they had to continue until they were far enough from town.
When they got far enough away for demonic beasts to start appearing Yun Tian found a small cave in a hillside and said, "Alright Shen Yu wait here I am going to go hunt some demonic beasts the way we usually do and I don't know if your skills would be enough to hide from them so you have to wait here."
Shen Yu tried persuading him one more time as she asked sweetly, “Are you sure I can’t come with you? If you help me, there shouldn’t be any problems with our stealth capabilities.”

Yun Tian instantly replied, "Before I can completely overwhelm them, your presence would only distract me during the fights. I don't know how strong I am compared to them yet so for now you have to stay here."
Shen Yu said, "Then why did you even let me come with?"
"What would you have done if I didn't say you could come?"
"Followed you anyway."
"Exactly, at least this way I know where you are and can make sure you are safe. No demonic beasts should come here and you can hide in the cave. Even if a wild beast comes I know you can handle it or at least hide or run away."
Shen Yu complied saying "Fine, after seeing your strength I don't think anything will happen to you."
Yun Tian acted hurt saying in response "So are you saying you didn't believe in me before?"
Shen Yu replied shyly "I always knew you were the strongest, but I can't help but worry about you."
Yun Tian was touched and said, "I worry just as much about you and know that my Xiao Yu is the cutest and also worries the most but don't worry this time I will be fine. Alright stay here I will be back."
Yun Tian also thought, 'I have to live up to her expectations. Let's go kill some demonic beasts then.'
With that, Yun Tian left while Shen Yu stared in the direction he left with worry apparent in her eyes. She said softly "Be safe. You don't have to do anything else besides come back to me. Please come back to me."
Shen Yu then walked into the cave with determination in her eyes more than ever before. She hoped to grow stronger so she could help Yun Tian.

Yun Tian travelled much quicker now that he didn't have to slow down for Shen Yu. Even with his extreme speed he made not as much as a peep of sound thanks to his movement skill. He travelled throughout the trees to avoid being spotted or making tracks. Thanks to his exceptional senses he found many wild beasts since there were much more of them this far in the forest, but he ignored them and continued looking for a demonic beast. With his senses he could explore the forest extremely quickly especially when combined with his speed.
Eventually, he found the tracks of what seemed like a larger snake slithering through the forest. He could tell it was a demonic beasts trail, because no wild beast snake could leave a trail that wide.
So while maintaining his stealthy approach he followed the trail through the forest and found the snake leisurely moving through the forest in search of prey. The snake wasn't exceptionally long, only about twice the length of a normal snake, but it was at least four times the width of a normal snake. You could wrap your entire arms length around it. It had threatening teeth and just oozed an aura of poison.
Its skin was a brownish and tan color that helped it blend into the scenery of the forest. Yun Tian concluded that the snake would usually hunt from stealth like he is doing now, but it probably hasn't faced any real challenges since becoming a demonic beast and now just hunts casually like it is now instead.
He didn't attack just yet and continued following it. Yun Tian had decided to wait until it went in for the kill on a prey of its own before he went to kill it. He thought that would give him the best opportunity while it was distracted. It would also help him in learning more about its capabilities, including its ability to find prey. It couldn't find him at the moment cause he stayed far up in the trees and made absolutely no sound, but he wanted to find just how good an average demonic beast's sensing capabilities were.
He followed the beast throughout the forest for a little while until he found through his senses that there was a wild beast up ahead. Only a few moments later did the snake seem to realize this.
Yun Tian was surprised by this since animals generally have better senses than humans. He thought, 'I wonder if this thing just has poor senses or if my senses are just that strong.'
Either way he kept on following the snake until they got near the beast.

Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
