《DK (Dropped)》Chapter X - North territory

I decided to go North. Wich was to the right side of the Hive.
"When I woke up, the sun seemed to be setting to the front of the Hive, so assuming it works the same as earth, I should be heading North?"
(I think I will check out the entire valley with the exception of the West. There are high chances that I might find Arach there!)
After walking for one hour, or at least, of what it felt like one hour, now, once again, the moon appeared, full and beautiful.
"Are there nothing but trees? But it also seems that the terrain is getting rougher!"
As I kept going, I realized that if I had the same size of the wasps, I would never pass trough this area.
Then I reached on what seemed like a new area, there were fewer trees, it was like an non flat endless land of grass and bushes.
Pushed on to these grasslands I did.
Suddenly I stopped and raised my right hand to make contact with my chin.
"So, is this the part of the mountains that they were talking about? No wonder I could not see it, its so dark like night!"
(Well then, it seems there is nothing else to see here!)
While I was still around the middle of this grass land, it was easy to see how dangerous it was to climb just that specific section of the black rock mountain.
"Time to return! Maybe if I managed to get my hands on some goats, I could raise them here and then..." All of a sudden, while I was mid sentence and with a sound of what it seemed like a ton of earth collapsing the floor collapsed with me falling down and with a "boom" sound I landed, followed by a strong "CRACK!!" sound.
As I regained posture, I sat on the floor.
"Fuck!" I shouted underground. "Who the hell built a tunnel beneath me?"Again I shouted while noticing that my left arm had decided to take a vacation from the rest of my body.
"Dammit!" I yelled while closing my left hand like a fist.
For a minute, I stood still, staring at my arm with a poker face, if I had one.

I looked at my hand of my broken arm, with a repeat closing and opening of my left hand, I confirmed that I could still use it even if it was detached from my main body.
"Arm, come to me!" I spoke towards the arm.
Using the fingers as the legs of a spider, my left arm, in a creepy fashion returned to me.
Just when picked up my arm, a noise came from my behind, like a "squeal".
(What was that?) I wondered as I turned around.
There it was, a huge ball of black fur, 2 long ears, trembling.
"Are you a rabbit?" I asked the creature, while it was maller than me, it was higher than the wasps and much, much fatter.
"If I answer, do you promise not to eat me?" The creature requested.
"I do not eat." (DK)
The creature waited a few seconds."Are you really not going to eat me?" Again he asked, from wich I simply nodded yes.
"That's the first good thing I hear today!" The rabbit expressed in relief. "With so many things happening lately, the way you crashed in, I thought you were another hunter!"
(Is he talking about Ragnar and Caesar?)
"Yes, well, would you mind telling me where the exit is?" (DK)
"I was heading to one of the exists already, so sure!" Then he looked at the broken ceiling. "I will have to return later to fix that, come along now, follow me!"
(Kinda feel bad for doing that, but maybe this will teach him to strength up his tunnels?)
As we went to the exit, the rest of the tunnels were actualy smaller than the place I falled in, so I had to walk on four legs the rest of the way to proceed.
"cluch" Apiece of dirt went into my head.
"Ah! Sorry about that has to make the way bigger for you!" The Rabbit informed me.
"It's okay, earth does not affect me anyway." (DK)
"Good! Even so, we will take 5 minutes to get out, the bunnies sure did a mess this time!" (Black Rabbit)
"So you are not alone?" (DK)

"No, I am part of a warren, not sure of how many, we get hundreds of bunnies born every day so I would say that I am not alone at all." (Black Rabbit)
(Considering how rabbits can have plenty of babies fast, the nut job of this being a fantasy world, plus the amount of food available for them, makes me not surprised this time.)
Time passed again and finally we were out.
"Time to eat!" The black rabbit said, chewing up the grass of the surface.
"If you don't mind, could you tell me about the hunters you mentioned?" I inquired the rabbit, wondering if it was only the wasps.
"Let me think," (Black Rabbit) "ever since I was born, we were hunted by a sizeable pack of wolves who would often eat most of our bunnies and sometimes worked to dig out for our adult rabbits!"
"But suddenly they disappeared around 2 days ago, some said they migrated." The rabbit explained to me. "Then in this last day, wasps appeared out of nowere and hunted my kind for almost the entire day from what I have heard." (Black Rabbit)
"But you were smart to come eat at night?" (DK)
"Yes!" The rabbit gladly responded. "It is safer since the wasps would have trouble seeing me from the sky, unlike the wolves who see easily in the dark!"
(So in the end, the wolves pretty much ensured that the rabbit population was controlled, I will have to find where they went! But one thing for sure, the wasps food supply will last for a long time.)
"Since you helped me get out." (DK) "I will give you some important information, the wasps will not hunt at night!" This was a lie. "So come out at night, eat and grab what you can, so that you feed in the underground during the day!"
The black rabbit stared at me, looking all cute.
"Thank you so much! That will pretty much ensure that I live for a long time!"
"But if someone asks, you deny it! If the wasps don't have anything to hunt, they might get hungry and angry!" (DK) "And that just might be enough for them to come and dig into your warren to eat all of you!"
The bunny understood what I meant as he was more interested in his own survival and the death of more bunnies would also mean that grass would be in ample supply.
(Hope this is enough to ensure the wasps don't go hungry, if not, when we have enough numbers, I will simply order to capture all of them and create massive rabbit farms.) I wanted to have a long food supply just in case.
"Okay, I will not tell anyone of this!" (Black Rabbit)
"It is time for me to leave, thanks again, maybe we will see each other again!" I told the rabbit. (But I hope not to!)
"Thank you! Goodbye!" The rabbit said goodbye as he waved with one of his long ears.
Again I was strolling through the forest. It took me a while to return, but there it was, my hill.
As I went up the hill, I saw that it was still Ragnar who was on guard.
He raised his spear in a way of greeting. "Welcome back Great DK!"
"Thank you!" (DK)
As I reached the entranced, I decided to sit down, next to him.
"Great DK, did you enjoy your stroll?" (Ragnar)
"It was, refreshing!" (DK) "Thank you for caring."
"I am pleasant to know that!" (Ragnar)
"Oh, there is one thing I wanted to ask you." (DK)
"Of course! Just say and it will be!" Ragnar shouted with pride.
"Starting tomorrow, I want you to hunt all the bunnies you can, we will need them but do not hunt them at night!" (DK)
"I will do that and thank you for caring so much! The night makes it difficult to hunt and it is far more dangerous!" (Ragnar)
With me at the entrance, Ragnar felt more relaxed. (Being on guard with company sure seems to make a difference, it's more safe and more comfortable?)
Then from behind, inside the hive, came out Caesar, it was time to change shifts.
