"If life was a dream, then dying must be the moment when you woke up. It's so simple it must be true. You died, the dream was over, you woke up..........."

Ian McEwan; The Daydreamer(Real Guy)

I dreamt

In my dream i'd woken up in Vjoirstead a part of the people, they'd found out I wasn't really a mage but had other strange abilities instead and had accepted me regardless, we'd even become closer now that they no longer feared me, i'd used knowledge from civilisation to develop the community so they'd made me leader, I settled disputes and made plans for the good of everyone in the village. Soon our group had grown into a small town as people had moved here from other nearby villages, one day I proposed to Anna and she accepted, I approached her father for her hand and he agreed as well, we had a large ceremony where everyone came and rejoiced with us as I was the Town head, the people weren't too religious so there was no pledging before a god, she simply moved to my house which had been expanded as my status grew.

Soon after, Anna was pregnant, and 8 months later we had our first child, a boy, he was premature by 3 weeks, he was small, he was weak, but the older women in the town who had helped in the delivery assured me he was healthy from the strength of his cries at birth, I named him George. Vali was there at the birth, at 23 to my 32 he was now my right hand man and helped me run the town and its affairs, he was courting one of Anna's younger sisters so we may be related soon.

After George we had several other children, Sarah, Micheal and Ezekiel, Ariel, and an Annabel after her mother, we lost a baby after Annabel, we never tried for another baby after that, plus I had finally invented a means for birth control to handle the town's population issues

Life continued, it was a lot of work, but through it all I had the support of people who cared for me, so no matter what came I was happy, and I kept working until I created a Kingdom more advanced than all the others in the Known lands because I had completely mastered my Creation ability, allowing me to Create weapons and infrastructure that the other Kingdoms couldn't compete with so they conceded soon enough.

Since I woke up that day, I had never used nor touched the weapons i'd created first, I always had someone else move them or keep them somewhere for me, but as a King I had to learn to defend myself, so I learned sword fighting, and it turned out I actually could use magic, so I learned it as well.

One day when I had grown old, hundreds of years had passed, I did not want immortality so I had not created it for myself, That day a man asked for a private audience with me, at this point I was claimed to be the most powerful being to be found on this world, so I had no worries and allowed it. He walked in, an old beggar, his back hunched, his face marked, a scar with another scar crossing it on his hand showing he was once a slave but had been freed, he was dirty, stained and dressed roughly, I had not known anyone like this throughout my entire life so I was curious as to what he had to say

Yet as he began to speak his aura changed from that of a slave become more Noble, not the sort of nobility that causes obedience, but the sort of nobility found in Unflinching sacrifice, which gives without thought for itself, he said;

"You have forgotten, But I shall remind you."

Suddenly, before him was a table and the three weapons I'd avoided for so long, he picked up the Sword slowly ignoring all the magic I flinging at him, he said "The Sword Guards You." he swung it, and my throne, royal armor, and crown all disappeared

He picked up the Staff and said again "The Staff Enforces Your Will" he tapped the floor with the bottom of the staff and the world around was gone, only darkness surrounded us, desperate, I hurled magic and charged him, I was afraid, I wasn't sure of what and why, but I knew that if he continued there would be pain

He looked at me, he had grown younger with every word and by this point I could already see myself in my youth when I had just arrived on this world, he gazed at me with my eyes and said

"We Created this life to protect your mind, We destroy it to protect your Soul"

After saying that he reached out to pick the rod which floated there where it had been before the table disappeared, he grasped it, swinging down he said "The Rod Clears Your Path" the rod made impact and once again I saw my old friend, Darkness.
