《Fiends》Old Memories

Two weeks was the amount of time Kacie was given to undergo his recovery at the hospital. He grew more and more restless as the days went by. Meanwhile, Quincy would frequently visit him and brought a new joke to tell every time while handling the adoption process.
When the time came for Kacie to be discharged from the hospital, he went back to his house to get his belongings.
“Goodbye you guys, I hope we meet again”
“Well I hope to not see you again for a long time”
“Goodbye Dr. Francis, thanks for taking care of me”
[Drives off]
“It’s kind of funny how the best part of this job is seeing people leave, La vie est amusante.” (Life is amusing in French)

“Hmm, this place is quite deserted,” said Quincy. Kacie replied “Yes, it is”
“Gulp, [turns to Kacie] Hey, you aren’t going to kill me and throw me in the woods because of all those bad jokes, right?” said Quincy.
“Nah,” said Kacie. “Phew! That’s good to know” said Quincy.
“But that may not be should a bad idea,” said Kacie. “Huh!?” said Quincy with a worried expression. “[Laughs] just pulling your strings man, you should have seen the look on your face,” said Kacie. “Ha, yeah” “At least he’s laughing,” Quincy thought to himself.
It was the sort of house that you would see in a horror movie, deep in the woods where trees surrounded them and animals were their neighbors. The house was made out of concrete and at the wood at some parts, with tile flooring on the first floor and on the top floor was board.
Kacie entered when he saw all the family photos in the living room, as he said “Why didn’t I appreciate you guys more [sighs].” He went to his parent’s room on the first floor, [knocks] “I’m so used to knocking, that I forgot huh,” Kacie said. A down expression was on his face throughout the entire visit until he saw something that made him smile. “Wait, isn’t this the tickets for the movies? It is [laughs] Mom was such a clot “Urgh, who knew it would be this hard to let something go.”

While in the house, Kacie took; a small picture of the family from his parent’s room and one of Majesty’s bracelets for keepsake.
“All that’s left is my room,” Kacie said, he stood at the front door as memories circulate his head and looked around to emerged in all his emotions when seeing it for perhaps the last time in a while. On his way out, he notices a piece of paper on the floor. “This is?” said Kacie while he picked it up, “Oh the love letter” [he started to laugh as he reads it] “Majesty was right, it was stupid” as he put it in his bag pack.
[Quincy enters the house]
“Nice house”
Kacie looked around “Eh, it’s alright”
Quincy turned to Kacie and asked, “Hey, can I ask you something?”
Kacie replied while lifting the bags “Sure”
Quincy watches Kacie as he tries to sympathize with him “How do you feel right now, like if you need anything just tell me okay?”
Kacie said in a low-spirited tone as he turned to him “I’m fine, it’s tuff not having my parents and sister around and I’ll always remember them, but life goes on I guess.”
Quincy “Yeah I guess it does”
Kacie turns to Quincy’s van “So where are we going”
Quincy laughs as he said “You will know soon enough [pick up the bags and walks towards the door]”
Kacie “[sarcastically] Cool, it’s like a mystery adventure or something”
Both of them went into the van to set off to Kacie’s new venture, as they drove to Kacie’s new life.
Quincy “So you have any friends that you will like to see before you move?”
Kacie “No not really”
[Silence]
Quincy tried small talk “[He glances at Kacie] You can pick the music if you want”

Kacie went turn the radio to find the 1900s rock channel and began to play Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones.
Quincy “[looked at Kacie in shock] Now what do you know about this song?”
Kacie said “My dad and I played this all the time when he picked me up from school”
Quincy “[awkwardly] Oh”
Kacie “So what about you?”
Quincy “What?”
Kacie “[points at the radio] The song”
Quincy “It was the song I met my wife to”
Kacie “Woah, you’re married? I’m intrigued now, continue the story”
Quincy reminisces “Well it was the night of 1989 at the biggest party of the year, everyone was dancing and having a great time. I saw this lovely lady standing in the middle of the dance floor alone by herself [laughs]. I was curious, asking myself “What is she doing there all by herself”. Then this song came on, I got so hyped that I made my move and asked her to dance; she said yes, we danced with passion, with intoxication as we were made drunk with pleasure. [smile] That lady in years to come became my wife”
Kacie in excitement “She sounds cool”
Quincy “Yeah she was”
Kacie modestly asked, “So where is she now?”
Quincy “[puts on a sad face] I’m not sure”
Kacie cautiously said “[whispers] Oh sorry”
Quincy “Yeah it’s fine”
Kacie murmurs “It’s probably because of those terrible jokes why she ran off”
Quincy “What?!”
Kacie “Nothing!”
Kacie started to sing the song in an attempt to cheer Quincy up.
Kacie “I can’t get no...."
[puts air mic by Quincy’s mouth]
Quincy “[shouted] Satisfaction”
Kacie and Quincy had an outburst of laugher as they drive the highway to a big sign staring at them stating Welcome to Yorkville.

ICOMO ODYSSEY
Jonathan Vélo never expected to be famous. Not for riding his bike all the way around the continent of Icomo. Every adult knows his story, and children learn about him at school. This, however, is the first and only biography written about that great man with foreigners in mind. We, his biographers, imagine they will be immensely grateful. Of course, readers will find the people of Icomo an unusual sort for glorifying a young man who did nothing more than quit his job and ride his bike from town to town, city to city… But in an age of robots and computers, when little escapes the notice of the historian, there is a quiet epic to be told. It is the epic of cozy nights in a tent below the stars, of warm wind and ocean waves. It is also the epic of missing old friends in faraway places, and that feeling of needing to make life mean something. *** ‘ICOMO ODYSSEY’ is a nostalgic slice-of-life adventure about a utopian sci-fi land. No clever villains or epic fights here. Just cozy pleasures, charming towns and villages, interesting cultures, and the people who live in them… This story will update bi-weekly on Friday and Saturday. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/467210/icomo-odyssey/
