《Observing Death》Valentine

Looking into the mirror, I see a grown man wearing a white shirt and jeans. Leaning in, I tried to fix my hair for a bit and took a long look at myself. Giving a smile, I put on some perfume and grabbed the red box sitting on the table.
Exiting my bedroom, I went down the stairs to the living room and shouted towards the kitchen. "Mom I'll be going out", before picking up my wallet and a handkerchief, I walked outside the house.
Drops of water falling from the sky greeted me, as the rain rages on. I immediately went back inside, grabbed a jacket and an umbrella and head back out. I kept the box inside my jacket, keeping it safe from the rain.
I walked for a few minutes and arrived at the bus stop, thankfully the bus is still there. I took a seat inside and leaned my head on the glass, I looked at the empty street.
The pitter patter of the rain hitting the glass made me calm and I fought the urge to fall asleep, I got places to be.
Observing the people inside the bus, I see kids playing. The boy was fidgeting, hands behind his back holding a ring. He probably made that himself seeing as it had glitters and is quite colorful.
The girl was busy eating a sandwich to notice the boy's blushing face, but she probably felt him staring at her seeing as she looked towards the boy.
He was startled and dropped the ring in between their seats. She curiously picked up the object and had a questioning look at the boy. He was flailing his arms around, flustered and had a face as red as a tomato. In the end, he took a deep breath and with determined eyes, told the girl his feelings.

I guess everything went well seeing as both of them gave each other happy smiles, the girl wearing the homemade ring.
I stopped looking around as the bus came to a stop, I stood up readied my umbrella and got out the vehicle. My goal was to the florist, I need flowers and a candle, I hope they have those scented candles in stock.
The sound of a bell rings as I went inside the shop, the scent of daisies greeted me as I walked in. "Hello, what can I do for you?"
Turning my head to the right, I saw a pretty girl wearing an apron. "I need a bouquet of roses and some scented candles if you have them".
I looked down her chest, read the nametag and said "Daphne".
She gave me a smile and went out the counter. Heading to the store's front, it seems they have pre-made bouquets displayed. She picked one and brought it to the counter.
"Who's it for?" I looked at her and gave her a smile, "Just a friend of mine".
I paid for the roses and candles, good thing they have them and even added a box of matches for free how nice.
Seeing as the rain stopped pouring, I proceeded to walk towards my destination, holding the bouquet with both hands with the umbrella hanging from my arm.
I stopped in front of a tree and crouched down, the tree had a heart symbol with our initials written inside. I set down the bouquet and took the candles from my pocket and lit them, It smelled like lemon.
I sat down leaning on the tree and looked at the gravestone beside me, "Happy valentines". I sat there for a while, looking at the now setting sun painting the world in an orange glow.

I held the box in my hand and took out a ring, it was of poor quality. Made of some aluminum foil wrapped in clay with a heart acting as a diamond in the center, I still can't believe I made this ugly looking thing.
I looked at it while smiling when my sight suddenly became blurry, I rubbed my eyes and noticed my hands got wet.
I felt it then, a gush of emotions erupting inside my throat as I choked and couldn't form words. My eyes kept on leaking tears, I felt a pang of pain in my chest and all I could do was cover my eyes with my hands attempting to stop the overflowing emotions.
I held the ring close to my face and kissed it, before placing it beside the tombstone.

Sweet Minds
