《Regressor Kiara: Heaven Inception》Chapter 3: Sprint

Kiara opened her eyes.
The pain in her whole body started disappearing.
She stopped operating her mental power.
Only a small part of it was consumed.
Materializing mental power outside the body required tens of times consumption, that's why she didn't waste anything.
This small amount of mental power will recover in ten minutes.
Growl~
Kiara's stomach rumbled.
She didn't eat food nor drank in two days straight.
She could stand it because her will was tens of times stronger than an ordinary human.
Well, this should be the last day though.
The mind wants, but the body can't.
All the energy in her body was used in recovering her damaged muscles.
Although the mental power could substitute some of it, it could only swap half.
"This should be enough."
Kiara nodded.
She ignored her trembling body and stood up.
This whole time, she thought of many possibilities in her mind, but the most likely result was already out of the question.
Should there be no any life to check up on the room, she herself will check outside.
Kiara stretched her small figure, groaning with every crack of her bones.
"Ahh. That's better."
Kiara smiled. She felt refreshed.
Hup.
Kiara leaped forward and punched out.
Her mind immediately sent out mental power, flowing to her right arm, to her first.
It materialized into a fist, covering Kiara's small fist.
Bang!
A huge dent appeared on the handle of the door. It was warped.
Bang!
Another one.
Bang!
And another one.
Kiara stopped operating her mental power.
The handle is now completely gone, the door now swinging open.
"Phew."
The world beyond the door was a long hallway.
She couldn't see the end, even the walls are white.
Kiara was speechless.
...
Kiara bitterly smiled.
It seems the change was more serious than I thought.

She shook off the numb feeling in her hand.
"I can't use body amplification."
Kiara muttered.
The skill uses mental power to forcefully strengthen the body, or a specific part of it.
With how fragile her current body was, her body couldn't withstand the recoil.
I can only rely on materialization.
Kiara thought.
Although the cost to effectiveness is seriously against efficiency, with her mental power capacity, it will be fine.
She's lucky that it's a straight hallway.
If there are twists and turns, she will be forced to spend more mental power.
"Okay. I'm done warming up."
Kiara lightly jumped.
Just before her feet touched the ground, the mental power moved.
A significant amount of mental power was immediately drained from her mind.
It flowed through her body into her legs, flowing out on her knees, enveloping everything below.
It was like a transparent boots, but it covered knees down.
The moment her foot touched the ground—
—Crack——!
Bang—!
Kiara shot out like a bullet.
...
Kiara felt the wind slowly burning her face.
The scenery never moved. It was all white walls.
This is consumption is dangerous.
Kiara thought, but didn't mind.
The faster she runs out of here, the earlier she can eat.
...
Time passed.
Kiara now ran for twenty minutes straight.
Her mental reserves are now below half.
She continued.
...
Time passed.
Kiara now ran for thirty minutes straight.
Her mental reverves are below twenty percent.
"Phew."
She felt the lightheadedness result from the exhausted mental power.
"I should rest for now. Depending on what class of detention is this, I should be at least halfway there, even if it's the top one."
Kiara muttered.
She slowly turned down the output of mental power, resulting on her slowing down.
She stopped after a minute.
She didn't dare turn back, afraid of losing her sense of direction in this white walled infinity.
She didn't want to run all the way back just because she turned around and lost direction.
"Hoo..."
Kiara sat down and closed her eyes.
The familiar deaths greeted her again.

Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them
