《Where did it go wrong?》Chapter 6: Results

I can't believe food was such an effective strategy. I should've used food years ago. I'm particularly embarrassed that I never thought of bringing food to the prisoners. I might have been treating the prisoners as NPCs who can give soul magic quests if I'm lucky. Maybe this world was a game in my past life, but now, it's real. I need to thank Kasa for giving me an important reminder.
Speaking about Kasa, I couldn't help but feel a bit bad for her when I looked at the state of her 'house'. It was a small area with three things, a bed, a smaller woodshed that could barely fit a person, and lots of magic books. There was one window near her bed which gave There were so many books on the ground that I thought the floor might've been made from books rather than wood. While I wondered where I was going to sit, Kasa created 2 stacks of books and told me to sit on them.
"Since you're here to learn about magic, tell me what you know about magic right now."
"It uses mana to cast spells."
"As expected, you don't know too much, I'll start by explaining the 7 mana types."
"Light and Dark are the two rarest types because not many people have an affinity for them. Light magic is the only affinity that has healing spells. Although it does have offensive spells, its firepower is the weakest of all affinities. Dark magic is known for its weakening spells and has average firepower, there are also some taboo branches of dark magic that I don't know much about. Earth and Water magic are better at defensive spells, and Fire and Wind magic are better at offensive spells. No type magic isn't a type of magic, it's just the category of magic that any magician can use, a lot of random magic falls in this category. Do you have any questions?"

"Do you have a teacher?"
"Nope, just like you tutors have no longer visited me since I was 5. I learned everything myself. Stuff like magic is easy for a prodigy like me."
I have to admit, I was impressed by her declaration. Unlike me, she doesn't have memories from her past, the fact that she can self-study at such a young age is astounding. Maybe mages mature a bit early? Either way, I guess she does deserve her prodigy title.
Before I left, I asked Kasa a bit more about no-type magic. A lot of magic like summoning magic, augmentation magic, and even space magic all fell into the no-type category, but some spells were harder to create than others. There were some taboo branches of magic like necromancy and demon magic as well.
I have to admit, hearing all the different types of magic made me a little sad. Didn't I transmigrate, why don't I get some kind of cheat? The more I heard about magic, the more hopeful I was getting about soul magic, I hoped my soul had some special properties because of my transmigration.
By the time I finished my talk with Kasa it was late in the evening. I didn't have any plans for the night so I decided to think about my approach with the prisoners. Rather than looking at them as an opportunity to learn soul magic, I realized I should look at them as an opportunity to gain more resources.
I can acquire food but, what I lack the most is money. If I could start selling food to the prisoners, I might be able to make a slush fund I can use when I run away.
I decided to head to bed a little earlier than usual in preparation for tomorrow.

Equality.Prosperity.Choice. These are the words that Agrea defines itself by, but to a brick that has known only ignorance, they are evils that rot a society. But destroying an ideal society will have to wait, first the brick must learn some pesky things, like how to pee or deal with pesky systems that seem to have a grudge against you. [Participant in the Writathon Challenge] Disclaimer: My characters are often wrong. Some characters may consider something to be true which conflicts with what is occuring at the place mentioned. Some characters also may have contradictory views on a thing Example: Meemauy- Transmigrators are bad, Narvin-Transmigrators are just people Meemauy- Launeior is the fault of Faction leaders. Raina- Launeior is the fault of Meemauy.

Trickster's Luck (Fantasy LitRPG)
Not all luck is good luck. Maya found herself at a character creation screen. Who was she before this? Why was she creating a character? What was the game? No idea. But she had nothing better to do and no reason not to play along. And when given the option for a rare luck-based starting class, how could she turn it down? It was rare and special! That must make it good. Right? Character-focused, low-stakes, post-death upload. Hard system: if the stats say she loses a fight, she'll lose the fight. Randomized outcomes: I roll dice behind the scenes regularly, so events flow according to the whims of chance. Nothing is set in stone. There is an overarching plot, but how the details play out and what path we take to get there is up to fate.

Sarsaparilla's Scary Super Power. Completed
Sarsaparilla is an older teenage girl living on Mars. And, like many other young people around her, she has a super power. Or, rather, she is supposed to have a super power. Only she has never been able to activate it, she doesn’t even know what her super power is. This annoys her, tremendously. But she hides this behind a really sweet smile. Adalace is another teenage girl, also on Mars. She knows what her own super power is, and it is quite a good one. She is also really cute… so long has she keeps her feelings under control and doesn’t let out anything from her dark past. Teylon is a man, currently living on Earth. He likes to think of himself as still young, even if he is over fifty. He’s a bit smug about his successful career and is thinking of retiring… until a sadly unfortunate event leads him to the conclusion that he had better immigrate to Mars. Immediately. Apparently, meeting one’s own Angel of Death tends to cause people to make profound changes to their lives… Mars society had better brace itself, because once these three people, plus another three also not so quite stable individuals, collide with each other, the resulting explosion is not going to leave anyone on Mars unaffected. This is another Esmeralda, the Angel of Death, story. It follows on from my previous two such stories, but it is in no way dependent on the previous stories. They can be read in any order. It is fully written and proof read (using Word for Windows, no real editor touched this transcript) and comes to about 247,000 words (about 895 Royal Road pages). It is organized into 50 chapters and I will be publishing them roughly one per day. In my writing, there are multiple characters and multiple points of view. Each change in a point of view is introduced by a header, giving the viewpoint character’s name first, and possibly a title. Inside a Point of View section, dialog in italics represents the Point of View character’s thoughts, while dialog between quotes represent normal spoken dialog. This story is very much inspired by the anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. However I have only taken some elements from the anime, and changed everything I took to make my own story, and so it does not count as fanfiction. Yeah, I know, the book cover page isn’t very good. It’s the best I could do, by tracing over a stock image. The two ladies shown are supposed to be Adalace and Sarsaparilla. Ideally I would have liked there to be two images of this pair, one where they are smiling sweetly and looking cute, and one where they are looking really angry and dangerous. But that totally exceeds my graphics abilities. You will just have to imagine it.
