《Ambrosius: My Own Time》Chapter One

"Jo..."
"Jord..."
"JORDAN!!!"
.
"Haiz... Why're you yelling."
.
"GET UP YOU IDIOT!!!"
.
I hear someone yell, as I feel my arms lifted, and my body getting dragged. I groggily open my eyes.... and the sight before me makes me laugh uncontrollably in hysteria.
.
"ROOOOAAAARRRR!!!!!"
.
'A titanic black dragon... well, that settles it... I'm gonna die... again.'
.
'What is this? Where am I? Who am I?'
.
*BOOOMM!!*
.
Well... it doesn't matter as before I get an answer any of my own questions... my head gets dropped, and I feel a sharp, piercing pain in my legs. I lift my head up, and look with my bloodied vision, only to see that... I have no legs. My mind spins as the dragon lets out another ear shattering roar.
.
"ROOOOAAAARRRR!!!"
.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I'VE LIVED AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF LIVES YOU OVERGROWN LIZARD, YOU CAN'T DO SHIT TO ME!!!"
.
I bellow out with a cracked voice, as a nearly transparent box shows itself in my vision.
.
[Do you wish for an eternal life, and time... a time that only you, and you alone possess?]
[YES]--or--[NO]
.
I squint, and blink rapidly, before I bring a bruised, bloody hand to the my answer.
.
[Accepted. Your wish will be granted as soon as you die your final death.]
.
I look at the screen in front of me in wonder and hope, as it slowly dissipates into nothingness.
.
'Life. Death. Satisfaction. Regret... I've felt it all... many, many times.'
.
I thought, as my consciousness slowly fades.

DING*
.
The sound of a bell ringing once in my head, brings me out of what felt like long nap. I try to see... but I cant. I try to listen... but I couldn't. Words won't flow, I can't taste, I'm unable to see or hear. My thoughts roam as I figure out my situation.
.
The only place that I could possibly be in... is a womb. All my senses aren't working... but I can move... although only a little.

.
Then... what seems like a minute later, I slip through what feels like a funnel, as light touches my skin.
.
I still can't see... but I can hear, and smell. I move my lips to sound a word, but all that comes out, is a cry. More specifically... that of a baby.
.
I internally sigh, as I find myself in an O' so familiar situation. I muster the strength to open my eyes, as rays of sunlight beat upon my new body, and I find another box in my vision.
.
[The wish of an eternal life, and time has been given. Two extra perks have been assimilated.
Perk 1 includes : Grade 10 Omni-System.
Perk 2 includes : Multiversal Soul-Assistant.]
.
My mind goes blank for a moment, as I look at the screen in front of me.
.
'What. The. FUCK!!! This is fuckin' awesome!'
.
I think a fierce and ecstatic thought, as I remind myself of the endless comics, novels, and manga I read in my many lives. I can take a guess that the system is something that will help me gain power, and even though I don't know how good grade ten is, just imagining an overpowered system makes me menially tremble.
.
'I think I know what the system is... but, what is a Multiversal Soul Assistant?'
.
{'Hello Master. I am the Multiversal Soul Assistant. You can ask me any question about anything, and I will answer it appropriately. For ease of access, I suggest giving me a name.'}
.
As if right on cue. A formal female voice answered my mental question.
.
'Hmmm... I think that I will name you Iris. As in the goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of the Olympian gods.'
.
{'I thank master for the name. I will be known as Iris now.'}
.
The voice of Iris was more acquiescent and beholden after I gave her her name.
.
'Iris, how do I use the Omni-System?'

.
{'Master can access the system by mentally or verbally saying the word status.'}
.
'Status'
.

.
{'Appreciated Master'}
.
With a mental nod, I look up at whom I believe is my mother. She has long and silky black-colored hair, with a beautiful face, and sky blue eyes. While taking a look around the room, I see a man whom I think is my father. He has the same silky black-colored hair as mother, but in a quiff' hair style, he also has sky blue eyes. Along with a handsome face, and a cool, white corporate beard, I'd have to say I have a beautiful family from the looks of it.
.
My mother says some comforting words then hands me to my father. He radiates a big smile as he takes me into his arms, but not before I get another notification.

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. Cover drawn by yours truly in MS paint. (I have skill, I know)

The Glyph Queen
When Winnie was thirteen, her settlement taught her how to fire a rifle. Her school practiced drills in case raiders came, and the town grew crops in their greenhouse-adapted homes, which were the only places warm enough during the worldwide nuclear winter. The Lakiran empire invades—a corporate-born nation overseen by their corporate-born queen, Victoria Paladino. They ride silent planes whose repulsion field veered bullets away. Three years of occupation later, an exemplar visits—a member of Victoria’s oversight committee rumored to read minds. He tells Winnie that she may have a unique mental power, or a flair. At the empire’s capital, the queen herself tutors Winnie to help her reach the full potential of whatever power she may have. Meanwhile, in post-war Nigeria, a streetwise teenager named Naema sees a different side of the empire. Between corruption and oppression, everyone lives in squaller. People fight over assembled food pastes. She too is told she has a unique flair, not by the empire, but by a fugitive woman who is the last vestige of an ancient witch coven, and she knows a dark secret about what the exemplars do to people like Winnie and Naema. Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The most recent chapters of The Glyph Queen are available on its main website.
