《The Legend Of One Piece: A Journey Through Divided Seas》2: Part 1 of Eloia's Past

Eloia arrives at the town's circle, the center of the island. She walks up to the fountain and splashes her face with water. She looks up to see a statue staring at her.
"In honor of Shanks, This town formerly known as Goa Island, will be renamed after him." The statue looks of a man with a claw mark across his face, a missing arm and a sword by his side. Eloia sighs. She sits down at the fountain. Something about that boy would not stop bothering her, she keeps thinking back to the necklace he wore. She tries to shake off the idea of him and her thoughts start to shift towards the ghost of her past.
It's a dark secluded muddy place. A child around 5 years old is seen struggling through the darkness. She crawls through what seems to be an underground tunnel following the distant light that seems to be waving at her. With no direction to go and helpless tears drowning out her vision, the light draw closer, the tunnel grows bigger. She continues to crawl, her body all bruised up from all the rocks tearing at her skin. She begins to hear voices and men shouting. She grows weaker by the second and eventually passes out when she no longer has any stamina to crawl.
"Wake up you brat." A strident voice rings through her ear. She opens her eyes and is horrified.
A man of tall demeanor and dark shoulder length hair towers over her. His presence is frightening. His eyes told a story of war. His body is hulky and scarred up with tattoos all over his body just stopping right before his wrists. He looked at the horror that filled her face and showed no remorse.
"I'm guessing you're here because someone was too human to kill a child." He sits down on a rock.

"You're lucky I was the first to find you, Eloia."
She finds herself frozen in his presence unable to move, she tries to open her mouth to speak but begins to cry in terror instead.
"Hey! brat, be quiet. "He shouts but Eloia is too panicked to stop crying.
The man sighs.
"From now on, you call me grandpa, alright." He reaches into his pocket and takes out a cigar, he lights it and seems to dive into his own world as he begins to smoke it.
She looks around.
"My bear, where is my bear!" She goes searching for her teddy bear that she dragged with her.
"Momma said as long as I have it with me, she'll find me!" She begins to cry again in panic.
The guy pulls out a pink teddy bear from behind him in confusion.
"You mean this?" He holds it up to her. She runs to grab the toy feeling a sense of relief. He shakes his head and rubs his head in conflict.
"You're a child, but that has to end here. Where you're going, you won't survive depending on a stupid doll like that."
Eloia looks at him with frustrated confusion and begins to cry again holding on to her doll. He rips the doll out of her hand purposely ripping it into pieces while Eloia lets out a helpless cry.
"But- she said she'll come and get me!" She cries reaching scrambling for the leftover pieces of the bear.
"If you've made it here without your mom, that can only mean she's long gone." His eyes expressed guilt for a flashing moment.
"Come on let's go." He lifts her up over his shoulder and they begin to walk through this dark tunnel with fire's spreading light throughout, the shouting and voices become louder and louder. Eloia's eyes spread wide open. She sees a crowd of men surrounding a huge cage and a huge snail facing this cage. She gets a rough view of two men fighting inside the cage, one completely overpowering the other.

"Don't pay attention to that right now." He continues walking past the crowd and into another tunnel, at the other end of this tunnel is a whole underground town, she sees women, and men, but no children. No one dares look at each other, and every person shares similar tattoos on the upper half of their bodies.
"In this town, you don't eat unless you fight." He says. He enters one of the huts that are molded of what seems like mud. He drops Eloia on a gigantic stone. He begins to tend to her wounds. Eloia wipes her tears and starts hiccuping from crying so much.
"How do you know my name." She struggles to speak.
He continues tending to her wounds.
"This is all my fault, that you're even here now..." He says as a look of shame slowly overcomes his face.
"Your father, my son.. I made him into the horrible man he is today." Eloia looks at him and begins to cry again filled with realization.
"They had told my mom I deserve to die because I was born a girl, they said he sent them to kill us!" The panic in her voice grows louder.
"You can't cry anymore.. from here on out, they will see it as a weakness, especially since you already have the face of a foreigner." He starts wrapping her legs up in bandages.
"Why does everyone here have tattoos?" She asks, sniffling.
"This town is a place for Yakuzas, most of them are voluntarily here, they get to leave, but only to complete missions. The rest are here because they've made costly mistakes and were pardoned for it, but mostly.. this is a deadzone, with forgotten faces. The only connection to the outside world is in that cage you saw back there. They watch us through fights and place bets."
"What did you do?" She curiously looked at him.
"I voluntarily threw myself here, this is just my way of atoning for my sins I guess.."
"I was once the head of all Yakuza clans, but I got too old. My son took over, but, I saw the madness that escaped him and in him I was able to see the cost of all my mistakes." He finished wrapping up her body and sat her up, looking into her eyes.
"From now on I will teach you how to fight."
