《Reincarnated as a Bioweapon》Evolution Part 1

As the bear licked its wounds, they started to heal!
It appeared that the bear had healing or regenerative abilities so it looked like the fight wasn't be that easy after all.
Thoughts of chickening out began to fill my head. I already felt weaker than I was before getting in contact with the bear. Maybe it was because it ripper part of myself away, and I couldn't grow back any longer? It also could be because I didn't use [Mana Absorption] to refill my juice yet. I didn't really want to fight it anymore...I felt too tired.
The bear, done healing its wounds, began to stand up. It growled at me, displaying all of its razor-sharp teeth.
Ok, I'm out!
I quickly formed a blade and shot it out at the bear's stomach, to which the bear just smacked it away.
Unbelievable...
However, it distracted the bear for a few seconds. This did give enough time for my other tendrils to retreat far enough into the soil to the point where the bear couldn’t reach me anymore.
I continued retracting my tentacles, bringing the horn along with me to study it. I moved as quickly as I could, using Mana Manipulation to gather my other tentacles to reinforce those that have been torn off by the bear.
Eventually, I brought the horn back to the rabbit’s burrow. I placed it gently onto the ground and began showing dirt to cover up the entrance to my temporary home. I took a deep breath, then focused on the horn in front of me.
It looked quite similar to a narwhal’s horn, although smaller and whiter. It was separated into four segmented parts and looked quite majestic overall. However, it didn’t seem to have any magical properties at first. Perhaps I had to inject mana into it?

First I tested small amounts of mana...or at least what I thought was small.
Nothing happened. So I increased the amount of mana continuously until eventually, the horn started glowing, emitting a soft light onto the surroundings. Soon enough, it began lighting up the small burrow.
It could even be utilized as a light source, but it was for piercing so I decided to test it in that aspect.
I formed a large ball of the flesh using [Reinforce] and [Body Manipulation] to make it more rigid and tough. I manipulated a few other tendrils to grab the horn and wielded it to pierce through the ball of condensed flesh, it went through easily, just like my blades did.
This rabbit had a good shot at killing the bear if it wasn’t ambushed and killed so quickly.
I probably should save my flesh from getting pierced from now on...since I couldn't grow and was greatly limited, I had to be more cautious. So no more stabbing myself until I evolved.
[Body Manipulation LVL1 -> LVL2]
Ah, speak of the devil. Haha. Almost done with leveling everything to level to level 2. Just [All Sense] left. Shouldn’t be too hard.
I also still had to defeat an Evolved being and reinforce everything.
Most of my black flesh was already reinforced since I lost quite a bit during the fight with the bear. I just had to do it a bit more and I would be done.
However, I wasn't done experimenting with the horn yet.
I then began to continually pour mana into the horn. Then trying to chip at it using a blade after some time.
I got my conclusion. My Mana seemed to make the horn much harder. This was because as I supplied Mana to the horn, I couldn't affect it at all in its glowing and all-powerful state. I could chip off a small piece when mana wasn’t channeled though.

I tried channeling mana through the small hole I made in the horn as well, but it didn’t glow this time, and the mana just dispersed into the air. A whole structure was needed for the effect to happen. I supposed it had some way to manipulate the mana inside purely by material?
Fascinating...
I didn’t want to take it apart to study it further, as it has some uses to me. Especially for surprise attacks from behind. Plus it could be used as a defensive tool as well since it was so hard.
I went ahead and poured even more mana into the horn to see if that had any effect on it, but the mana was just wasted as its hardening and penetrative properties didn’t increase.
