《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 82 - Grey Sphere

"Die!!" The king made a barrage of fireballs hurtling towards me at high speeds.
I breathed, the air around me dissipating the attacks, the king didn't notice already that we were higher than anyone has ever been, the top of the world. Here it was colder than anywhere else in Antrite; the king's skin was turning blue. Meanwhile, my body remained normal, as it was coped for more frigid environments, emitting a temperature that froze the water.
His attacks kept coming, and I kept dodging, focusing on the new source that awakened, the one that Kirigaya gifted me just then. The king expanded his swords and tried to slice me in two, but I knocked them out of his hands.
Opening my left hand, I plunged it into his heart and grabbed it as it appeared behind him. The king tried to vaporise my face, creating two large beams in both hands, but I dodged. I wouldn't lose my vision by the same dumb mistake as last time with Feuer.
"Get your peasant hands off me!!" The king yelled.
"But perhaps you don't know that I can't," My body erupted with the source of Kirigaya, as its effects became evident.
The king coughed up blood onto my face. "What did you do to me!!" he said as I crushed his heart.
"Something that you could never do, work together," I opened my mouth and wrapped my fangs around the king's throat.
Piercing his neck, I clenched towards his throat, as no blood poured into me, as I began to freeze him. Quickly, the king lost strength, as his spirit source that he was using was running out. The king's body began to freeze all over, he tried to scream or shout, but nothing came out.
My wings opened wide, as lightning began to erupt from my body. We were falling, and something that I had only seen once I was becoming. A comet in the sky, falling towards earth, only once I had seen it, now I had become one.
The king's body began to burn up; his skin caught on fire as he grabbed my neck. I froze him over as we descended into the earth. As we got faster towards the ground, we began to burn up, and that's when I knew that I had to end this with a final attack.

My body, my soul, everything had become lightning, and I looked towards the ground. My wings grew, and I took a deep breath.
"This is it!! This is the end of your bloodline and reign!!"
I became lightning, still grabbing the king, as he began to scream. In a matter of moments, we collided with the ground, and that's when I knew, it was over. A massive dust cloud erupted from the ground, as the impact created enough force which began to make the entire castle fall into cracks which I created.
I returned to normal, not releasing steam since I didn't allow lightning to flow through my body; I had become the energy. Whatever those rods of energy were that I absorbed, it had unlocked something else as well.
I smiled as I heard three different footsteps come towards me. I turned to the right side, to see Quinn, Lance and Sashal in front of me. Looking a bit higher, I saw someone with a tail in the distance, slowly walking out of my vision, and I looked down smiling.
Lance had a look on his face which made him refuse to believe what had happened. "Y-you killed him,"
"You killed the king, by yourself," Quinn said with a surprised voice.
"No… I had help," Some of the rubble was still burning with Azures flames, even though he was nowhere to be found.
"...But now it's time," Sashal said, beginning to cry.
"Yeah…" Quinn clenched his hands.
"Time for what?" Lance asked with a worried face.
"I'm leaving, to train, and now I know why," I explained.
No one asked why, but I believed they felt a new power from me. Dysan was still out there, and maybe even watching right now, and I didn't care if he was, I was just glad it was over. The king was now just a pile of bones as I walked towards everyone.
"Do the honours," I said to Quinn.
The demon made a portal and placed my ring in the middle of the king's body, which was now a pile of bones. I hugged him and moved onto Sashal. I embraced her as she kissed me, tears welling down her face. I didn't want to leave her, but after what Drundon said, I had to.

"What will you name him?" I asked Sashal.
"Liebe, I don't know why, but that name fits, and I will tell him about how you defeated a king for bedtime, so he knows how powerful his father was," Sashal pinched my right cheek.
"... Does anyone have a paper?"
"Here," Quinn got out some from a portal and handed it to me.
I summoned one of my chains and made it a pen tip, writing a letter, folding it and handing it to Sashal. "For his sixteenth," I smiled at her.
She nodded. "Alright,"
I moved onto Lance and placed my fist on the left side of his chest.
"Thanks for being by my side in Antrite through this,"
"You too," He replied as I began to walk behind everyone before I heard Lance begin to talk again. "But why?"
I turned around, Lance asking a final question. "Why, on the first day of school, why did you protect me? Stay by my side? What was in it for you Dyestral?"
I stayed silent for a moment. "Easy now Lance, don't anger Dyestral, he's tire-," Sashal said, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"...No, I'll tell you," I turned around and saw Lance's sturdy face staring at me. Opening my mouth, a single word came out of it. "Oscar,"
Lance gasped. "W-what,"
"O-oscar the cat,"
"H-how do you know that?"
"I've known you Lance way longer than you've to know Dyestral,"
"W-that do you mean?"
"You buried your cat underneath the apple tree behind your house; Dyne was petting your back while you were bawling your eyes out,"
"N-no, can it be?"
"That same day, you awoke your soul ability without knowing, and you told Dyne that you were fine, despite him thinking the exact opposite."
Lance began to cry. "I-is it really you?"
"Your attitude didn't change for over thirteen years Lance, and even when I changed bodies, you still had the same attitude to a complete stranger," I walked over to Lance, and I rested his head onto my right shoulder. "And I thank you, Lance,"
"D-Dyne!!" Lance began to cry in my shoulders, as I also did the same. Every day it hurt unable to tell Lance due to what I was in, but it was all over, for a few moments I became Dyne again, not Dyestral, not a person who defeated a king, not a vampire, not the wife to Sashal, just Dyne, like I once was, when times were simpler.
"I-its great t-to see you again," Lance babbled, his tears stopping.
"At least you can now say a proper goodbye," Lance and I pushed off each other.
"You were always weaker than me, and now look at you, a human and demon, the ender of a bloodline, a royal bloodline, but at least I can send you with a goodbye," Lance placed his right fist on my chest.
It was our secret handshake for twelve years, no one else knew it, and I did the same to him again. Lance smiled, tears still in his eyes, as I moved back towards Sashal, kissing her on the forehead, before finally parting off.
I walked in the same direction they were facing, as the three of them were standing still. Lance and Sahsal were crying in each other's arms, as Quinn nodded at me, as I nodded back. I made my way back to the mansion, into the woods of dead trees, and finally an opening.
Alicia was standing up in the middle of a lake, slowly clapping at me.
"Shall we get going?" She said.
"Let's," Tears trickled down my face, as Alicia and I took to the skies, flying across land which was now freed of torment.
