《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 68 - Intruiged

I surpassed Feuer in height, getting closer towards the clouds before I stopped and looked at him, seeing him begin to use his flames to hover. It was clear that Feuer wasn’t used to aerial combat, so was I but, speed was the main factor of it, and for me, I surpassed him in that.
As soon as he regained his balance, Feuer opened his hands and pointed them at me, a massive orange light erupted from them and blinded my eyes for a moment. I flew higher to dodge another attack, and I thought I did, he just stood there, with his right arm pointed at me.
It wasn’t until the final moment when I felt a massive pain in my chest like he had punched me. Moving out of the way, I decided to sense the source it was emitting and looking back down at Feuer. I’m not sure what that was, but I was certain it was his soul ability.
Looking down at the colosseum, I wondered to myself something. I raised my left hand, hundreds of icicles appearing around me before I quickly dropped my hand, and the icicles tried to hit Feuer. Only ten hit and fifty grazed his body, but the rest were either burnt back into water and then steam, or into the audience.
That was the real motive of the attack to see what would happen, and I was surprised by the result. Portals appeared around the colosseum, most of them being caught and the rest only hit the battlegrounds. I noticed that all the entrances were connected to a larger one in the middle of the grounds, where a lot of my icicles ended up.
“And a major thank you to Quinn Königshaus for protecting the audience from Dyestrals barrage of attacks!”

‘Quinn won’t choose sides, but I do have an idea,’ I smiled.
I tucked my wings again and began to descend closer towards the crowd, Feuer right behind me. I smirked and began to go even faster, Feuer still matching my speed. Closer and closer we went before I was a head away from a random person in the audience, and I saw it open.
A portal appeared in front of me, seeing this, lightning crackled around me, and everything slowed down. I went through the portal and into the middle of the colosseum, looking behind me seeing Feuer also follow suit.
He was halfway through before I began to control the ice in the arena. They quickly changed shape and held Feuer in place, long enough so that Quinn’s portal closed off. From experience, when one of Quinn’s portals is cut off, and there is something in between, it cuts it in half. If it could break my incarnate weapon, it would sure as well chop Feuer in two as well.
As I suspected, it did happen, and Feuer’s legs were no more, although I could still see them regenerating already, there was nothing he could do. I summoned the chain on my back, and it zoomed towards where we were and picked up the disembodied hip and legs of Feuer in the audience, placing them in my hands.
As soon as I got ahold of them, I destroyed them by freezing them and shattering them into pieces, so only the metal parts remained. Looking up, a bolt of lightning hit the metal, and melted it, so that Feuer wouldn’t be able to put his legs back on like a pair of pants.
Looking down at Feuer’s new legs, I saw something that surprised me. He had no genitalia, something else the machines did. Not only did Wilhelm’s brother use his son, but he halted his side of the bloodline, trying to create a man that would change the world.

“One vial lost, power breaks down by twenty-five per cent,” He said.
“What are you doing? You might be metal, but don’t go freaking it out,”
“Activating power break number two of three.” Quinn put his left hand over his face, and the same vial appeared from his arms, before being injected into him. Seeing this, I looked towards the charred mound of metal and saw the other bottle.
As Feuer began to grow in power, the chain on my back penetrated the metal and grabbed the vial, put it in my open left hand. Feuer saw this, and anger began to show in his eyes, I could hear his jaw clenching.
I noticed on the vial that there was a needle, and very quickly, I injected the needle into my neck. I felt the energy seep into me; it was intoxicating, Pleasure, Happiness, Success, all these feelings flooded my mind, before my vision blurred.
“Oh… Happening... “I heard the commentator’s voice; only in small segments, this is why Feuer staggered a bit before attacking “Feuer… Assault.”
“What!” I looked up, seeing a massive beam of orange light about to hit me.
Again, I moved out of the way, but not entirely, as my right arm was blown off from the shoulder. It wasn’t erased, burnt to a crisp by the heat the beam gave off, so I grabbed it, and sacrificed it.
“ɔOɯɯAup¡ qloOp AuɔıEuʇ ʇɥE As ɯe' AɹOnup ɔl0np ɔlonps ʇɥə ɯaʎ uOʍ' It ɟEəl ɔau ʇɥEʎ ʇɥaʇ sO iʇ ɯAʞə ɹaıu' Oɹ ʇɹuʇɥ ʇɥE ʞuoʍ uEʌEɹ ʍIll ʍɥo ʇɥose ɟOɹ!”
Clouds around the colosseum began to grow again, even further than before, and my right arm was sealed, it wasn’t healing, but something was different from when I fought with Ren. An even fight and the clouds turned a dark grey, both of us weakened, I lowered myself down to my enemies level, just so I could fight him, still fair.

Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war.
