《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 53 - Realize

“But this doesn’t make sense, why would this group kill him? Wasn’t he a necessary being within this plan?” Quinn continued, resting his chin on his right hand.
“Quinn, if I may,” Sashal asked, stepping forward.
“You may,”
“Your uncle was murdered what we could expect only a few hours ago, this might be hasty, but Dyestral, do you think you could invade his mind?”
I thought for a moment, putting all my thoughts into the question. I only ‘invaded’ someone's mind once, he was unconscious, and that was to only learn about the necessary information. I questioned it for a second longer, wondering if I could invade the mind of a corpse. After a while, I gave my response.
“Drain some blood from the other corpses and give me a bit of your own.” I commended them, biting my right finger as I did.
Both of them nodded and came back a short time later, with about half a dozen arms, before they bit themselves, blood dripping onto me. I quickly rested the arms onto Ace’s corpse and I began to chant, closing my eyes, putting both my hands over his face.
“The mental images of slumber, may thy enter and talk without thou inner self. May thy dive into the mind of a long lost body, with hope as my guide. Connect to you lost in the world where no immortal can touch. Exchange the nectar of life by stealing, invasion.”
I saw the blood from my arms and my body begin to turn to steam, and then I blacked out, waking up in Ace’s mind. I looked around for a moment and saw it, the memory I was looking for.
I floated towards it and touched it before the memory was transferred in my mind, I felt an ominous presence. Turning around, my eyes sharpened, shocked at what was standing within Ace’s memory.

The dark being, that I encountered when I became a ‘Chosen’, was standing right in front of me. I shook its head, making a small click with its tongue, before talking again.
“Isn’t it rude to invade someone's privacy?” It then swiped at me, and as I saw it, I woke up on the floor, getting up, my heart beating.
“What’s wrong, did you get the information?” Sashal asked me.
“I get it, I thought I wouldn’t!”
“Met what?”
“A manifestation of my fears, a being that I barely see, Sashal, it was the ‘Chosen’ ceremony, I met it again,”
Sashal and even Quinn were surprised, them both looking towards the corpse. After a while of looking, a burst of menacing laughter came from the corpse. We looked at it in disbelief, but after the Corpse rolled it’s head towards us and looked up, we were certain.
The non-existent eyes, due to being gouged out, began to heal, and there it was. Pure black eyes, his iris’s became a stunning luminescent blue. It wasn't long before the corpse made more sounds, this time, it was moving its mouth, making sounds, like a singer warming up his voice.
Before long, the corpse began to speak, in an eerie and feminine voice.
“I knew you would figure it out eventually,” The voice spoke “I mean, you weren’t chosen just because you were strong, it’s because you had bonded, towards the people here,”
Quinn stepped forward, coughing into his right fist whilst tightening his suit “Hello, I am Quinn Königshaus, pleased to make your acquaintance,” He bowed.
“It’s all mine," The corpse then curtsied "but I’m wondering why there are intruders in the stronghold, not only on the lowest level, but royalty itself is staring at me,”

“Of course, but I’m afraid you’ve already done that, now, where is the real you?”
“I don’t know what you mean? I came here by my own free will,”
“The ability to control the deceased, Necromancy, an exceptionally rare and powerful ability, how did we not know about you sooner?”
“Come on, I was born here, but you were too worried about my brothers' murder, during that time my mother died as well,”
As soon as I heard the word ‘murder’ I pushed Quinn aside. The voice was female, and my memory was cloudy, but I then asked her a question.
“Who are you?”
“I’m just a sister of a man you killed, and I now control the body’s like a marionette, with a piece of string.”
I clenched my fist, realizing who she was. A piece of string, and the death of her mother at a young age. I only heard about her once, but it was sure Ren’s younger sister. I'm not sure what she looked like, but the time and place right now was not the best.
“Quinn, take Sashal and find Xirax, make her copy her soul ability and bring her back to me, now!”
“Why?” He asked.
“Do it now, cause now it’s not going to be pretty.” My bloodlust then released itself, and Quinn saw my seriousness. He grabbed Sashal and created a portal, jumping through it, leaving me with the corpse.
“So you’ve realized who I am, Dyne,” I was shocked for a moment before I answered.
“How, how do you hold so much power in words?"
“Let’s say, I have a colleague who is closer to you than you think, and he asked me to relay a message to you,”
“What is it?”
“Goodbye Dyne, may my torture end today.”
The corpse lost all consciousness and all was silent, I made a massive mistake. I sent Quinn and Sashal on a ruse, thinking that the corpse would begin to fight back. I sighed, looking at the corpse, touching it as well, and that’s when it happened.
As soon as I touched the cheek of the corpse, cracks began to appear throughout the body. I looked into the cracks, and I heard something moving its way through the corpse. I caught a glimpse of it, but then it happened.
The thing quickly came out of the crack and crawled into my eye, heading for my brain. It was painful, so much that I had to move around, pounding the back of my head against the wall. I could feel it struggling through my eye, seeing that it couldn’t handle the cold my body was emitting. The thing then dropped out of my eye, which quickly healed and I saw it with both eyes.
A lengthy being with sharp mandibles and hundreds of legs was curled up in front of me. What just burrowed into my eye, was a centipede. Afterwards, I looked up towards the corpse and saw that there wasn’t just one centipede.

On the second jump, Claire's bad leg gave way and she felt herself tumbling forward. A cry of surprise escaped her and Claire was certain she was about to topple off the side of the train. Alek, however, moved quickly, catching her mid-fall and keeping her upright, and alive. Claire lifted her eyes to meet his which were wide with alarm. The expression was fleeting, lasting for only a moment before it was replaced by a frown. "You could have fallen," he said pointedly."I know," Claire breathed, finding her thoughts drifting to the strong arm wrapped around her waist. A flush rose to her cheeks and she was grateful for the biting wind that masked her reaction. "Thank you.""You need to be more careful," he continued, his eyes locked on hers, bright and haunting in the silver glow of the moon overhead."I will," Claire assured him, her heart skipping in her chest.
