《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 32 - Formal Greeting

After some more preparations, Jododam and I went back to Antral. We came through his demon gate that was hidden underneath the household. I was excused from his sight and was ordered to make my clothes using a loom that turned my source into some string.
The reason why Jododam told me to do this was that I would still keep my clothes on even if I decided to make my body untouchable. From escaping the dungeon to becoming the chosen, I was completely naked so that I could see Jododam's point.
In Antral, we went by carriage to the chosen party and all was silent. It seems that everyone was waiting for me, and would be impressed at my skills. Jododam was going to ask me as soon as I got back, which he did, but he expected it a week before.
All the chosen were, well, chosen as demons with great potential to become vampires. They were skilled and had something called a 'nightmare side' where they could change into something else in a tough situation. Jododam said that it's best for your nightmare side to remain a mystery, as the case could get quickly out of hand, so I listened to him.
The starstrider vampires were a different story, they were not only powerful vampires, but their vampiric abilities were more potent tenfold than a regular one. They could also gain nutrition from other objects other than resources, like vegetables, not just blood and specific foods.
Since I was both a chosen and starstrider, Jododam was pleased. He told me that the last starstrider and chosen vampire that existed was over three thousand years ago, and died during a battle that resulted in what Antral is today. I was happy that I was even more unique but also worried. I could now have a bounty on my head, although I could easily escape by going back to Antrite if I so chose.
After a while, the carriage stopped. I looked outside to see that we were now outside a large black mansion. It was nighttime, making it less likely for us to be followed, Jododam exited the carriage and so did I not long after.

"That cloth, how did that woman do it?" I was examining my clothes, which was just a black suit and tie, as well as an ice blue shirt, a dark indigo vest, even my shoes were woven from my source.
"Gener's bloodline, the Weaves, had a long history of a bloodline demon ability, they can do stuff with strings, it's like your comrade Abatson, who can split into two people, as he posses that trait in his bloodline,"
"I see,"
"Now remember Dyestral, I want you to befriend one of the other chosen, it will help your chance of survival when you have to kill one of them, alright?" Jododam asked.
"I heard you Jododam,' I replied. "'To increase my chance of survival I have to make comrades', wasn't that famous warlords three rules of the world, and didn't that vampire you told me about end his reign?"
"Correct, your history knowledge is on point Dyestral,"
"I have to say, my gratitude for keeping my name as Dyestral here, I now think that Dynestar was a bit stupid since it included my original name,"
"We all make mistakes, but today isn't a day to make one, this happens once every twenty-five years, so be careful about everything you do,"
"Don't worry; I'll take every precaution."
By the time Jododam and I were done talking, we were at the doors to the mansion. Two demons then opened the door, and we both entered. The whole place was engraved with gold and platinum, from the chandeliers to the cutlery on marble tables.
Jododam put his hand on my right shoulder and told me one last thing before he went.
"Remember to tuck your tail Dyestral, they are common across vampires, and they learn to hide them quickly, so wrap it around your leg,"
My tail was already tucked under my clothes, due to it becoming much thinner when I became a chosen. A waiter serving a blood-red drink on a platter was walking around, and people were taking the glasses and talking. I went towards him and grabbed one of the two remaining glasses.
At the same time, someone else grabbed the other glass. I looked at the person and could already see her soul; its colour was a beautiful shade of gold. I then looked at her regularly and took in her appearance. Platinum hair, red eyes, pale skin, she was shorter than me, but her appearance looked about the same age as me.

After I finished analyzing her, we both turned away at the same time, both noticing that, turning back around and chuckled a bit. We looked back at each other, and I realized who she was.
"A chosen," We simultaneously said, "Oh, you first," We both chuckled.
"Dyestral Blutrot, I am the Blutrots chosen this year," I said to the girl.
"The names Sashal Leben, I am also this year's chosen," She replied.
"The Lebens, which leaves the Tod house left, I think it would be a shame if you were to die at my hands, or the other chosen if it's here, after all, your beauty captivates me,"
"What a charmer, but I would rather team up with you rather than the other because unlike you, I've seen him, I don't know what the head of the Tod family was thinking,"
"Could you give me the details,"
"He's weak, his aura was almost invisible, I could feel like he wasn't trying to suppress it at all,"
"Anything else?"
"He's a ladies man; he had about four women, probably succubus, around him at the start of the banquet,"
"Physical description?"
"Short and fat, the entire opposite of what a vampire or assassin would be. And unlike you or I, we can tell that we've both been through something, after all, we did wait a week for you, it was supposed to start, but I heard there were difficulties,"
"That's because I was changed into this today, my body finally snapped, and my power grew substantially, what about you? What did you go through?"
"Some mental scarring, nothing too physical unlike your origin story, and I can tell that you're more of a physical type," Sashal looked at me with seductive eyes.
"Thank you for the information and compliments Sashal," I picked up her left hand and pecked it.
"It seems that these chosen this year all seem to be ladies men," She blushed.
"I'll take that as another compliment,"
"You should, although I wonder where you got those wonderful markings from,"
Although my entire body was covered, the marks were still visible. On my hands and the back of my neck, those black markings appeared. On my nape seemed to be some sort of zig-zags, and on the front of my hands seem to be simply four lines with a pointed end that reached my knuckles.
"Even I don't know, do they enhance my power, or are they just for show?"
"If they remain a mystery to you, then I wouldn't know either, but they are a nice touch to your entire persona,"
I noticed that Sashal had drunken all of her red liquid from her glass and so I asked her a question.
"Would you like to get you another?" I asked her, holding out my left hand while drinking the rest of mine.
"Why thank you, Dyestral."
I grabbed her empty glass, and I was looking for a new waiter to get another beverage off of. When I was looking, I could see who I believed to be the other chosen was snickering at me, short and fat, with ladies around him, Sashals information was right. I decided to make my everything but my hands and feet untouchable, thinking that he was going to try and trick me somehow.
As I was walking past, I heard a thud from behind me, followed by some gasps, I paid no attention whatsoever, only reverting my body to normal. I finally found another butler who was carrying the same drink, which I got two of, replacing them with the empty glasses. Before I could head back, a white-glove was thrown into my face by the third chosen. After the glove slipped off, the chosen said one more thing.
"Dyestral Blutrot, I challenge you to a fight to the death, a duel of the chosen,"
