《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 29 - Between

"What did they do to you Dynestar?" Lucyfer asked me.

We were running through the hallways of Gener's castle; I guided everyone. This was the first question that Lucyfer had asked me, as I had changed a lot in a week, even more, than when I moved to a new body.

"I don't remember; the real question is, what did my past do to myself?" I responded.

"No funny business, what happened to you?"

"I just experienced insanity, pain, grief, hate, and weakness all at the same time, that's what they did to me, and for that, I've become stronger because of it,"

"Whatever, so where are we?"

"I swear I felt Gener's presence here, no -"

I took a look around to see that it was the dining room where I was the first night. It was abandoned; all the chairs were stacked neatly; it was like no one had ever stepped foot in this room.

"Change of plans, I can keep track of Gener's body. Everyone, kill everything that isn't us," I yelled out.

"How do you know Dynestar?" Lucyfer replied.

"We get more rumes for killing nobles that were present at the feast a week ago, they're probably not around anymore, but it isn't impossible,"

"Nice picky up on there Dyesty," Xirax chuckled.

"Shut it Xirax, since I know where Gener is, follow me,"

I ran out of the door and started to chant my version of the incarnate weapon chant.

"Come to me, the entirety of my new soul, becomes a blade that moves like water and wind, Katana!" I chanted.

My right hand started to shine, and a katana with a dark purple grip appeared, but it was connected to a chain which was then connected into my hand. I'm not sure why I did that, but it felt natural to me, maybe Shinri had a special chant to summer her incarnate weapon, one which I couldn't remember. Not questioning my new habit, I saw two soldiers who spotted me. I made everything other than my feet a red outline, making them untouchable.

"Stop!" The guard on the left yelled. "Quick! Warn the others about an intrude-,"

Before the soldier could finish his sentence, I beheaded him, making blood spurt onto the floor, only passing through me.

"N-no, you bastard!" The other one yelled.

He tried to impale me with his spear, but as expected, he only pierced the other end of the hallway. Not hesitating, I grabbed his throat, and an icicle erupted from the back of his skull, leaving his body hanging on the wall. I looked to where I was to see that everyone was just coming around the corner.

Not caring for them, I punched a hole in the wall and moved to the left. Every time I took a turn, I hit the closest wall, leaving a path for the others to follow. Guards also appeared more often, telling me that I was getting closer.

As I killed the last of the guards with my katana, I turned my head to see that there was a door there. I walked up to the door and tried to push it open; it was barricaded from the other side. I looked through the souls of the demons inside, and there I saw it. Gener was in the back of the room, hiding behind about thirty rank one ghouls, ten rank three demons, and what seemed to be the souls of two chimeras, all of that information just by looking at their souls.

I couldn't just enter making my entire outline red; I would just sink through the floor, I had to think of a different approach. I decided to wait for the rest of my team to get there since they are so slow now compared to me. I dispersed my Incarnate weapon and thought about what would be better for this. Before I could make a decision, Lucyfer and the others came running around the corner.

"Took you long enough," I grunted to Lucyfer.

"Fill us in Dynestar, why did you stop at this door?" Lucyfer said.

"There are too many soldiers in there, even for us to handle,"

"Then what do you plan to do then,"

"I don't... know...,"

My head started to feel like it was splitting three separate ways for a short time. I fell to the ground and heard the worries of my comrades getting softer... and then louder. After the pain and the changing of my hearing stopped, I looked up to see that I saw triples of everything. I got up and heard chatter from my group.

"Where did he go?" Astaroth asked everyone.

"He disappeared," Abatson replied.

"But how is that possible!"

"I don't know,"

I looked closer at the multiple people, to notice slight differences to all of them. The left triple was a bright red, while the right one was a dark blue. By what I knew in the middle was indeed their soul, which gave me a hypothesis. I was now standing between Antrite and Antral, the land where souls reside.

I'm wasn't sure why this is happening to me, but I had to test something out. I decided to move my hand through the door and onto the other side, hoping for a reaction; there wasn't one. I then continued by moving my head through the door and again, no response.

My entire body phased through the door, and still, there was no reaction. The soldier there were always aiming their spears at the door, waiting for the group. I decided to walk up to one of the soldiers and touch his soul. The moment after, the guard clutched the place where I contacted him. Carefully, I walked around the soldiers and went up to Gener, looking at his face.

I looked straight into his eyes and saw the fear, the fear of dying, reminding me that I craved his death. I looked around me to see that all the soldier's eyes were fixated at the door, and Gener was sitting on a throne. If I killed him silently, no one would notice. Going along with that idea, I took my left hand and crushed his head. The next thing I knew, The three beings of Gener faded into nothingness, the red and blue one making a little longer to go away.

My mission was complete; it was now time to open the door. I decided to try and return to Antral, and after another much lighter headache, I was back. I made my entire soul outline red other than my feet, hands, and some of my tail. I punched the two wolf chimeras, due to the sound every soldier noticed.

"Oh great chain of my soul, break free and allow me to use your infinite power with the tip of destruction, may thy tip be the weapon of death, Chain and Sickle," I said.

A sickle then came out of my right hand, as well as some chains which were connected to the blade. I threw the sickle at the nearest soldier and pulled myself closer towards him. The sickle hit the soldier, and my tail pierced his head. All the soldiers started shaking, I stood up, and I couldn't control myself.

My vision began to fade again, but it wasn't like anything I've experienced. I didn't wake up in another place or see the blue flame. Something filled my entire being at that moment, and that was a feeling, of hunger.
