AN: sorry that the last chapter was shorter then the others because that day i was in a grumpy mood and only up to that part was given the ok from my family proof readers.

AN2: just a heads up as well that i may post short chapters in the future and that i will try my best to give the same amount of content as before.

AN3: my family proof readers numbers up to 2 so it will take time for them both to agree on something and i do have a 3rd person but he is busy helping me with my RL problem so bear with me.

AN4: I probably wont be able to draw up how the cathedral will look like so think of it like this with the towers peaking over tall trees

Magic Training, Second Meeting, and Infiltration

With the Arias out of the Cathedral Library I am now able to practice magic in a way that I have read on a light novel called Aliad as well as the Unfortunate Unfortunate.

[Arc Pov]

[Arc]

"Now then lets try to make a light ball like in the novel." concentrating in his hand a ball of light appears the size of a tennis ball.

[Arc]

"I see i can cast spells with just my imagination." losing focus the ball blew up in a small puff of smoke in his face.

[Arc]

"Guess I should not be distracted while doing this or it will be dangerous!" focusing again to create a light ball.

after holding focus on the light ball for an hour or so Arc was beginning to feel tired.

[Arc]

"hmmm maybe I am feeling this tired because my mana is low?"

once tired from making a light ball and keeping it stable Arc went back to reading to rest so that his mana will regenerate until he read something that would help improve his training.

[Arc]

"lets see, this book says that if you meditate while training on increasing your mana pool you will be able to increase the rate of regeneration." reading on what to do on meditation Arc stood up and move to an empty area in the library where people sit on bag like seats to relax and read to start meditation.

Arc proceeded to move the seats out of the way making a clearing in the center and sat down in a cross legged position and put his hands on his knees with his palms facing up. once in position he started to concentrate and focus his mind and proceeded to make light balls around him. At first there was nothing but then balls of light started to appear around arc one by one. After creating the balls are took a quick look to see that he had created up to 10 balls of light around him and went back into meditation. Mentally tired yet still invigorated by his meditation Arc started to imagine that the light balls around him are moving in a clock wise fashion. The light balls did not move yet until after 30 minutes the balls start to move slowly. After an hour or two later arc stopped the exercise and went back to his table and gathered all of his books and came back to the same spot but proceeded to read and place books around him. There were a few times that he heard a sound of ringing from his notification but ignored it and continued to concentrate on reading and going back into training his magic. Arc continued to go back and forth in his training and reading for another couple of hours until he heard a gasp. Taking a peek Arc sees the young girl that fell during the parade like ride to the cathedral a week before. Next to the girl he sees Aria as well and stopped his magic before the light balls blow up and hurt the girls near him.

[Great Hall PoV]

I was quite surprise that my dream is about to come true when my father and I came into the room with our great elder and our top military and civil chiefs. In truth I was also interested in meeting the mysterious armored man that helped me up and gave me this necklece that I am wearing right now with an apprentice outfit.(P.S. star wars jedi knight apprentice robes) My father was speaking to the elders and talking about my capabilities and what not until everyone heard the Great Hall's double doors open behind me. Hearing the door opening I turn to look and see our Priestess come in and ask why she was summoned for. Our Great Elder Arn then proceeded to introduce us to her and tell her the reason why she was summoned.

[Elder Arn]

"Dear I called for you because we have decided on your Guardian Ranger candidate." Gestering at Erza

I then bowed politely to her and gave my name.

[Erza]

"My name is Erza milady." trying to hide my surprise in meeting her.

after looking at me for a while she walked forward and grabbed my hand.

[Aria]

"Hello Erza my name is Aria please be my friend." with a smile.

I was shocked that our priestess wanted me to be her friend and after a few second of contemplating I just nodded. Seeing the exchange between Aria and me Arn spoke.

[Eldar Arn]

"Aria dear why not take Erza to meet Arc at the library and introduce them to each other since they both will be protecting you." with a smile on his face since his daughter will have a friend in the same age range.

[Aria]

"Yes Elder." with a bow and she grabbed Erza's Hand and dragged her away and head toward the library.

after Aria and Erza left the Great Hall the men in the hall continued their discussion on Erza and Aria until a ranger came through the door hurriedly and bowed with sweat dripping down on his face. Seeing the Ranger being nervous Arn spoke to the man.

[Elder Arn]

"Ranger why are you here and what is wrong?" questioning his ranger.

[Nervous Ranger]

"Elder Assassins have infiltrated the citadel" giving his grim report.

surprised by this report everyone in the room became pale at the thought that Assassins manage to get into the main capital of Elves.

[Military Adviser]

"how did they get in here!?"with a questioningly shout.

[Nervous Ranger]

"ssss sir, A few of our rangers and guards have been rr reported dead and that the trail of bodies lead to the Citadel." Answering the man.

Hearing this report everyone's face became even more pale until a voice shouted out.

[Eldar Arn]

"Ranger go and give the news to the other rangers and prepare a search for these Assassins immediately and you Guard will come with me to the library to meet with our children!, Everyone Else must prepare for an invasion from any enemy forces should the Assassins succeed in their objective!" shouting at everyone.

after a few moments for the words to register they all began to go about their duties and Arn with Erza's Father head to the Cathedral Library.

[Library Pov]

Meanwhile Erza and Aria had entered the Library and did not see Arc at the table and any books on it so they began to search the library together. They looked to the tall bookshelves to see if he was up there picking books, checking aisle after aisle and just when they were going to give up they notice light coming from somewhere at the far back. Erza and Aria wondered what it was and so they crept through in between the shelves going through the labyrinth of books. They continued until they saw Arc sitting down in the Relaxation area with 10 glowing light Orbs hovering and spinning around him. When Erza came up next to Aria she gasped at what she saw was happening in front of her. After hearing the gasp from Erza the light in the helmets visor that was dark began to glow with a reddish light and his head faced up as if to check who is disturbing him and he sees Erza and then turns to look a Aria right beside her. Upon seeing them Arc just stared at the two of them for a while until the Light balls began to disappear. Once all of the light ball are gone he stands up and bow before the two of them and proceeded to gather all of the books that are on the floor. Aria and Erza seeing this snapped out of their shock and proceeded to help gather the books and all three of them return to the table placing all of the books on it. When all is done Aria began to introduce Arc and Erza to each other.

[Aria]

"Arc this is Erza, Erza this is Arc." telling them of each others name.

[Arc]

"How do you do."With a bow.

[Erza]

"Lll-likewise" With her clumsy courtesy of a ladies bow.

Seeing how they both act Aria began to laugh and hearing this Arc and Erza turn to Aria and then back to each other and began laughing as well. once they all finished laughing they introduce each other again but casually this time. After that they all sat down around the table and began talking.

[Erza]

"so you are called Sir Arc right? why not take off your armor?" asking innocently.

surprised by the question Arc answers her

[Arc]

"Yes I am called Arc and Aria gave me that name, and to answer your second question I cannot take off my armor because I am this armor" after haring his answer Erza became confused by it. Seeing her confusion Aria Supplemented the information.

[Aria]

"Erza, Arc is not human, He is an Ancient Golem that Elder Arn was able to procure for my safety." telling Erza what Arc is.

Upon hearing that Erza became sad but did not let it show to the other two.

[Erza]

"Ahem, then why is it that Sir Arc move as if he is a person!?" with a hint of a glare.

[Aria]

"That is because father and the scholars used an ancient core to create him." answering with a little glare.

[Arc]

(why do I see lightning going in between them?)

[Arc]

"Cough Cough, why are you here Miss Erza?" asking and trying to change the subject.

snapping out of it Erza answers

[Erza]

"ah just call me Erza, Arc, and the reason why I am here is to be Aria's Guardian Ranger." with a proud smile.

[Aria]

"And she is my first friend the same age as me!" chiming in and causing Erza to blush.

[Arc]

"hahaha, Really then be my friend as well Erza and call me Arc as well." looking into her eyes as he says this.

[Erza]

"OOO-Ok." blushing even though she knows that Arc is not human.

[Aria]

"cough, Arc what was that magic that you did?" trying to change the subject and blushing at the same time as well.

[Arc]

"ah, that was a way of training magic that i thought up after reading the theories of magic." answering in a white lie cause he knows that it is due to novels that he has read.

[Erza]

"Really!? do you think that I could train that way!?" in a surprised tone.

[Arc]

"Well I don't know if you can do it but you can try." moving his hand to his helm like chin and thinking.

[Aria]

"Oh? then can I train in the same way as well?" in an interested tone.

[Arc]

"You could but it probably depends on the person." giving a reasonable reply after thinking about it.

[Arc]

"You two can train with me if you-" suddenly Arcs sentence was cut off with a loud bang

That was when they all heard shattering of glasses outside of the library door.. Becoming alert Arc hastily equip one of his swords and prepared for battle and checked on the girls. Aria was standing up in battle position with a small stick like wand with a crystal like gem at the tip. Erza equip herself with a dagger that her dad had given to her before they came to the Cathedral. After checking and preparing themselves they sneakily moved toward the door from cover to cover. after reaching the door Arc held the handle and gently moved the door enough to peek outside. What he saw was a Ranger on the floor with his back leaning against the other door to the library where he hit making the loud bang and another person wearing all black and is body half leaning back outside of the window from the impact from having a sword sticking into his chest. From what Arc can tell is that the Ranger is dead from the impact and a dagger sticking into his heart. He figured that they killed each other just a couple minutes ago from when they were talking. Arc then motioned for the girls to stay hidden and then went out into the hall way to check for any danger. Looking around he sense that someone is watching him and he stood still focusing his mind to find out where that presence is. After a while he felt the presence move as if it is circling around him and just then Arc felt a chill if he were still human and then quickly jump forward while twisting and then threw two of his makeshift hidden daggers from the dungeon ruins at the presence just a bit lower behind him. The black figure that was about to stab Arc was hit in the heart and then fell on its back. Arc then proceed to slash the persons neck to make sure that he or she died. After the near death experience of nearly being stabbed in the back Arc Immediately checked to see if there were any other would be presences.

While Arc was checking Aria and Erza heard noises outside the door of something moving and hitting the floor. They were both worried about Arc and that something was wrong in the Citadel. Erza quickly positioned herself someplace near the door ready to ambush whatever that may come through the door and Aria Hid a little away near Erza so that she could support her if needed. They both waited for a few minutes until they heard Arc saying its clear. Relaxing a bit they both go out the library to see Arc checking the bodies of two black robed figures. what they saw was that they had small horns on their head and fangs on their mouth.

[Aria]

"Demons!" shouting with her face paled.

[Erza]

"What is that tattoo?" with her hand shaking and pointing toward the demon on the grounds arm.

The tattoo was in a shape of two snakes in a circle trying to eat each other. Arc then began to search the bodies and began salvaging whatever weapon the Demons were equipped with. Arc could have just absorbed them but figured that he should not scare them with the ability and that he still needed to test this ability a bit more before using it among others. What he looted from the two corpse were two Iron short swords one each, several Iron throwing daggers, Steel needles, bottles of unknown substance that are colored green, red and blue bottles, and a scroll parchment with an unknown language written on it. After salvaging what he could find he gave one of the sword to Erza to us and several of the red and blue bottles to both of the girls. When they were about to leave they heard foot steps heading in their direction from where the stairs leading up to the Great Hall.

Authors Note: whew I tried to make this one longer and tihs is composed of three planned chapters but condensed into two part chapters.
