Danger and New Power

[Arc PoV]

alright I have a new name and a body to boot. It also looks like I will have to try to be on friendly terms with the elves to get information on the world that I am presently in. I think that it would be better to get them to assume me to be some unknown or ancient spirit that was sealed away to get information on current events.

"Thank you for naming me for I have been sealed for so long"

Startled by what Arc said the surrounding elves relaxed for a bit except one.

[Science Elf]

"sealed!? then that means that you are an ancient soul!"

[Arc]

"yes, I believe I am."

[Elder Chief Arn]

"why is that?" in an interrogating mood.

[Arc]

"Cause I have faint memories of being sealed." replying with a lie.

['Aria]

"Father why dont you calm down and isnt this what you wanted anyway?"

[Elder Chief Arn]

"I suppose you are right and it is best for us to go now before the rats attack again."

suddenly as if on cue a giant rats that was hidden in the walled ceiling burst out attacking every elf in the vicinity.

[Guard 1]

"Chief please run away while we hold these Monsters at bay."

[Guard 2]

"We will not let them get to our Priestess and Chief!"

[Guard Captain?]

"To battle Men we will protect our hope no matter what!"

[Guard 3]

"There are to many of the bastards!

[Guard 4]

"Mages get away from here and protect the Chief and our Priestess."

[Scholars]

"We will Protect them with our lives so dont you all dare die as well!"

[Guard Captain?]

"I Know already so get them out of this place already!"

[Aria]

"Father!"Clinging to her father.

[Elder Chief Arn]

"stay behind me dear this is too dangerous for you" drawing out his sword to protect Aria.

Arc seeing the chaotic battle in the room was stunned from seeing so many of them and attempted to help the elves even without a weapon.

[Arc]

"damn rats will be the plague to them so how the heck am I suppose to kill them!"

suddenly a window pop up in front of him.

I dont know whats going on but I will use this skill!

suddenly mana chains with stake at the ends appear flying from my body towards all the rat monster in the surroundings. they wrap around the monsters before piercing their hearts and then started pulling them to my body. the next thing that happens is that the monsters started to cry out or howl like it was some sort of signal.

"not good"

"hey all of you get out of this room immediately now!"

shocked by what Arc said and understanding that something dangerous was happening they all fled through the corridor leaving arc behind holding back the monsters.

"now I should not have any hindrance to test out my body and powers."

[Elves PoV]

After struggling to get outside of the ruins the elves rest for a couple of hours and attempt to prepare themselves for battle while waiting for reinforcements from their village.

[Aria]

"NOOOO!" crying while hitting her father with her little fists.

[Elder Chief Arn]

"It cannot be helped dear we cannot hope to fight off a horde of rats" angry with himself at not realizing that there were Rat scouts hidden in the walls when the armor arc had absorbed some of them when fusing.

[Aria]

"but but he was the first to treat me as a normal person and not some god" while still crying.

[Guard Captain}

"do not worry Priestess he is an armored golem there is no chance for him to be defeated." trying to cheer up the little girl somewhat

[Guard 1}

"I agree with the Captain."

[Guard 2]

"I as well"

[Guard 3]

"and he had that ability to chain those monsters as well so he should be fine."

[Guard Captain}

"Report how many casualties did we take during the battle and escape!?" speaking to the 2nd guard

[Guard 2]

"sir, we lost 1 Guard, 3 Mages, as well as most of our scholars that were in the room!"

[Guard Captain]

"Men once you are rested I will need you to keep watch of the entrance until reinforcements arrive" giving out orders to his surviving men.

[Guard Captain]

"Chief and your Holiness please return to the village for your saf--." Imploring his Great Chief as well as his daughter to return to the safety of the village when he is interrupted by one of his men.

[Guard 1]

"Captain! Something is approaching from the entrance!" readying his sword.

[Guard 2]

"oh great spirit of earth grant me the power to protect my fellow elves" casting a buffing spell to his fellow guards.

[Guard 3]

"Ive got target!" aiming his bow into the entrance.

[Great Elder Arn]

" Get behind me dear" moving his daughter behind him while readying himself with his staff.

they wait while hearing heavy footsteps coming from deep within the ruins.

[Arn Pov]

after the elves left in a hurry.

"hmmm I am starting to get the hang of this body"

clenching his hand into a fist and punching the rats that have flood into the room while dodging them. The many rats that were chained had already been pulled into his body and he hears the death cries of the monsters when their whole body are being ripped and crush to shreds inside.

"dammit I can't use this ability indefinitely so I may need a weapon to fight back!"

looking around he sees one of the guards that died from the surprise attack from the monsters.

"he has a sword and a crossbow with bolts which may prove to be helpful."

dodging while edging to the body Arc just barly manage to get the sword when a unique rat appeared and blocked his way. The monster was bipedal equipped with an iron sword, leather chest, wooden shield, and a leather helmet that does not seem to fit on its head.the monster used its sword and attack arc hitting him in the chest a couple of times.

"hmm this beast is stronger than the others since it can use weapons and how am i going to get that sword now?"

thinking for a bit while dodging Arc decided to try out something with his ability in a sink or swim decision.

"I will have to gamble with the last of my MP in order to kill all of these monsters"

dodging the sword and shield bash while waiting for the right opening he used his ability

"Target Sword Absorb"

shouting out, two mana chain materialize instantly and wrap around the sword from the dead guard as well as the one from the humanoid rat. struggling in a tug of war with the rat while the chain pulling the other sword finally reach him. Arc absorbed the sword from the guard and then suddenly a bright light shined from his body blinding all the monsters in the vicinity.

then the sword appeared at my hip to the left and then I drew the sword as if I am a samurai and attack with an IAI Strike.

"IAI Slash"

with the slash I was able to cut its hand holding the sword and then absorbed the weapon leaving it with only its shield.

the sword then appeared on the other side and drew the sword as well dual wielding both of them.

"now its time for payback!" with a shout

then the furry plague started to shack as if they are afraid of me including the injured humanoid. I leap up above them and then started to hack and slash the humanoid monster until the shield broke and was impaled. after the monster died I turned to what was left of the rats and attacked them cutting of their fore arms, heads, tails , hind legs until there were only 5 of them left. noticing that my may has recharged to a decent amount I absorbed the last of them.

"this fight was truly exhausting"

then a ping sounded with a pop up.

once again Arc was surprised by how his status went up.

"ok now lets head out to meet the elves"

walking out of the alter room into the hallway Arc walked through the hallway into another room where he found some scrap metel on the ground which looked like the remains of an armor that is a bit brittle. thinking that finding equipment to add to his body may not be a bad idea he searched the room until he found a pair of ancient pauldrons that are in reminisce of the roman army shoulder guards. Examining it for a while a window poped up.

"hoh I wonder if I can Equip them?"

Taking the pauldron Arc put them onto his shoulders when suddenly an intense pain occurred after a while he notice that his skill Absorb has been activated. Many Mana chains spread out in the room and pierced into many of the remains of Ancient golems and started to assemble them onto his body. looking at his right sleeves for the first time he notice that the armor was organic as if alive while still metalish . After a while of absorbing many bits of metal he notice that his form has changed from looking at his reflection in of of the remain tubes in the room.

Arc no longer appeared as a chain shirt with long sleeves and looks like one of those old cowboy long coats including with Leather boots, gloves, belt, and chest piece with a hood attached, and a bronze helmet that looks like a roman centurion helmet. What he sees now is an upgrade from before with the pauldrons, plated leather gloves, plated boots, scale has been added to the leather chest part and the helmet's shape has been changed slightly with a visor over the eyes making the glow look like slits.

"huh?"

"Is this me?"

Shocked by the changes of just absorbing pieces of metal, his body changed form and to his understanding it could be that by absorbing armor or things regarded as armor his form will change accordingly. Thinking that he could tweak his appearance a bit Arc decided to test out his theory by modifying his Common short Sword to become a smaller version of the elven sword that looks like single edge sword that looks like a mix of a katana and a double edge sword.. with a little bit of concentration the sword started to reshape itself little by little until it cracked and shattered into pieces.

"whoa"

shocked by what he did Arc decided to not test out his appearance changing abilities yet until he is sure on how to control his powers better. With that settled Arc left the room into another hallway and followed it until he read some stairs heading upward. seeing that there were no traps at all he just walked up the stairs into a hallway with a bright light at the end with the sound of nature and voices.
