《Hunter X Hunter Overgeared》Arrival 3

After they landed they didn't speak a word as Caid just followed the old man along the stone path while simultaneously trying to calm his heartbeat.
' Haaaaa, this is so nerve-wracking. I thought that I would be more calmer after all I just went through on the island , but I guess that is not the case. Heh, makes me think about the value of human in the eyes of a Nen user.' thought Caid as they finally arrived at the gate, and Caid couldn't help but take a look.
They were completely made of a grey type of wood that looked to have no vitality, but Caid was more surprised by the size of the door. It was more than five meters tall and more than ten meters wide, making it a big ass door.
' Well, I guess that he has to spend his money somewhere.' thought Caid with a little amusement, but as he was looking at the sturdy gate, it slowly begun to open and someone rushed out. It was a little girl about Caid's height with long black hair wearing a dirty apron.
"Daddy, you're back!" excitedly shouted the girl as she jumped into the old man's arms.
"Haha, you bet I'm back. Did you miss me?"
"Ya, I missed you, but I really have to tell you something." said the girl as she patted the old man's bald head and laughed.
"What is it?"
"The dragon, Lili, has become a mother. She has has become the mother of two small dragons, one is a male and the other is female."
"Ohhhhh, that's great news. I bet you helped a lot." said the old man with a little excitement.
On the other hand Caid was left speechless as he witnessed the old man so cheerfully taking with the girls and couldn't help but think.' Is she really his daughter? How can that be possible......

Could it be possible that I'm in some kind of illusion? But I don't think I am.' frowned Caid.
As he was lost in thought he suddenly noticed someone approaching. It was the other person who had appeared at the gate, a woman. She looked about 40, was about 1.8 m tall , had dark hair that went just past her shoulders and a bright smiling face. She wore a complicated and long sleeved garb that Caid had never seen before, had a pair of jade earrings , but the most striking feature was that she was missing her left arm.
"It seems that something is troubling you." said she in a calming voice that reminded Caid of his mother.
"Uhhhh.... sorry....." said Caid absentmindedly, but he regretted it immediately.
The woman just smiled as she motioned Caid with her hand to go inside, and Caid followed. They entered inside and a wide courtyard that was like a zen garden with small pools of fish, sand gardens and beautifully cut bushes appeared in front of them. They walked past it , through a small rock bridge and finally ended into a small, red, one story brick house that was to the edge of the garden.
"This is the place you'll be staying." said the woman." It is a little neglected, but it is still in a very good condition. You have running water, electricity, and even an internet connection for you to use. Food will be provided every morning or you can just prepare it yourself , but I suggest you just eat the provided food.
Now, do you have any questions?"
"Yeah...." said Caid as he was staring at the house in front of him." I'm sorry if I was a little bit late, but can you tell me your name."
As she heard that she frowned a little , but it was for just a moment.

"My name...is not going to be useful to you. You shall call me Mistress form now on and shall follow my instructions." said the woman with a stern voice.
' So she really was someone important. I'm glad I didn't do it say anything while she brought me here.' thought Caid as he nodded his head. His instincts had made him stop from making a mistake.
"I'm Caid Yalan of the Yalan family. I, because of some complicated circumstances will be serving the Long family, but....I still don't know what will I be doing. The old man.....I mean, he didn't say what would I be doing." said Caid as he scratched his head in embarrassment.
"Oh... you don't have to worry about that. You can just have a good rest, everything will be answered tomorrow." said the woman as she stared intently at Caid, making him a little nervous.
After the woman left Caid entered the house and looked around it. Everything seemed normal and all the normal furniture were all there, so Caid didn't waste any time and tried to find the bedroom, which he quickly found. The bedroom was very simply decorated and the only thing that stood out was the intricately carved wooden bed close to the only window of the room.
'Well, it's pretty decent. I could be much, much worse.' thought Caid as he removed his suit and immediately noticed a couple of holes in it. Those were bullet holes from the fight with the mercenaries and he could see even some of the bullets inside the reinforced kevlar fibers.
"Hah....haha, it seems that I've already become bulletproof." jokingly though Caid as he sat down on the bed and begun to remove the deformed bullet's from the suit.
..........
On the other side of the estate, in a brightly lit room the old man was sitting cross legged in front of a big, rectangular wodded table. To his side was the woman who was pouring something in a cup that was in front of the old man who immediately gulped it down.
"Haaaaa.....nice."
"You, really never change...." said the woman as she smile lightly. "But I didn't expect that what you said to be true after all. "
" So, you also noticed it right? He, although had accepted the curse, doesn't seem to posses the signs of having the curse active. " said the old man with a serious face. " If it wasn't I who found him and performed the ceremony myself I would have thought that he was a remant of the families."
"But, it isn't impossible. This could be one of their tricks, like ten years ago.....
The woman didn't finish her sentence as an angry glare from the old man made her stop.
"Hmph, woman I may have been fooled once, but I have never been fooled twice in my life. Those fool's who tried to defy me are already dead.....
Still, I understand your concern, but that kid is something else. Not only is he someone extremely talented in Nen , but he seems to also posses as sharp understanding on how to use it. I suspect that he will be a very powerful Nen user in a couple of decades if he is trained , and also become a good shield for and training partner for Xia." said the old man as he poured himself another cup.
" Is that really necessary?"
"It is, Mako had greatly exceed my expectations and has become very strong. He may not hold a candle to me at the moment, but I can't say what will happen in ten years time.
He is such a worrisome child....

Parental Controls
Reeve Williams always felt more at home in vivid virtual reality than in drab real reality, partly as an escape from the very real embarrassment of her technically inept parents, Walter and Wanda. When Reeve’s parents give her a new total-immersion virtual reality system for her birthday, Reeve reluctantly agrees to show them what it’s like…just for a few minutes. But a mistake only her technophobe father would make leaves Reeve facing the prospect of spending months in the greatly accelerated, fantastically complex, brutally unforgiving game world. With her parents. Posts will be every M/W/F. If I ever decide to try to turn Parental Controls into an ebook, I won't do so in such a way that I'd need to take down what I've posted to Royal Road. Thanks for reading!
