《The Demon Lord’s Successor》48: A Little Moment of Peace
Advertisement
As you walk with Delta toward Chi’s cell, your tiredness catches up to you, each step becomes heavier and more rigid, the knees don’t bend so good anymore, your calves feel like they’re about to rip apart. Strange that I’m feeling this only now, you think and sit down to rest for a moment. The cold stone is not helping.
“Delta, sit down next to me!” You command the big-chested bunny girl. She does just as you say and you lay down your head in her lap, on her soft, naked thighs. Her short skirt does not get in the way at all, as it is just barely enough to cover her private parts.
Now that you’re resting properly, you summon a [Hellfruit] for yourself to help with the pain and another for Delta. It’s not hard to tell which rejuvenates you faster – the small fruit or the lap-pillow of a beautiful young girl.
[Congratulations! Spell [Hellfruit] is now level 2!]
“Oh, don’t tell me,” you say out loud and open up your skill tab to see the description of your upgraded spell. And it’s as you suspected.
[Hellfruit – lvl 2
Energy cost: 10
Summons a small, red, otherworldy edible fruit, that satiates hunger and heals the body.]
Though the effects are, no doubt, stronger now, you also won’t be able to spam it nearly as often. Not without a substantial increase in stamina. Maybe if you split it in half? Later. You swipe away the skill tab and get comfortable. Then close your eyes with a smile and simply enjoy this little moment of peace…
“Yawn!” you stretch after opening your eyes. You had no intention to take a nap, but you’re not complaining. Neither is Delta, so all is good. You rub your eyes and rise to your feet. You haven’t completely recovered from yesterday’s march, but this was a good start. Unfortunately, you have shit to do. And a lot. So, you head to Chi’s cell, which is just a little further ahead.

The bunny girl lies on the cold floor, with her back toward you, completely bound with rope from shoulders to ankles, which is now blood red from soaking in Chi’s blood. Hercule did a good job, it feels good to know there are minions you can rely on.
And you find it hard to resist the urge to cast the spell that was crucial in turning many of the bunny girls to your side.
“So, you’ve come already?” Chi speaks without even turning in your direction. Before you can ask how she knows who it is, she says, “I can recognize the skulking steps belonging to a weakling who relies on others to fight his battles.”
That remark probably struck a nerve, because, without even saying a word to your prisoner, you cast [Aphrodisiac Mist] into the cell. Once again, the mist that only you can see forms in the cell. And after some ten seconds, it dissipates.
Nothing happens. You then remember that you’re trying to arouse a cripple, who lost any sensation throughout her lower body. You begin to wonder what exactly are you expecting even if you do manage to successfully arouse the girl after casting the spell enough times.
Using only her bound arms and shoulders, and with great effort, Chi shifts her weight and turns on her back. Then she looks at you. Her eyes are full of resentment but much of her former fighting spirit is gone.
“I’m a fool for not expecting you to stoop so low!” She scowls, gathering what remains of her defiance. “You think someone like me wouldn't feel even the slightest change in my mind or body? Trying to arouse me? In this condition? I suppose you are just that much of a degenerate. And what comes after you have your little fun? Torture? I doubt you’ll even have the balls to do it yourself! Of course not. It’s beneath you, isn’t it? You have much more sinister designs for me, right?”

Chi looks at Delta with a pained expression and continues attacking you the only way she can now, “You think you’re being cute or original by twisting the minds of friends and allies into assaulting each other? A coward hiding behind the backs of his slaves. Mommy and daddy didn’t buy you enough toys to play with as a child? Do you have a single friend or an ally that you did not coerce or brainwash into joining you? You might not be as psychotic as my brother, but you are certainly more pathetic!”
Chi spits in your direction, though her spit hardly flies more than a couple of feet.
“Do your worst! Whatever helps you feel like a man. But know that scum like you always get their comeuppance!”

Demon Hunters
Far in the future, the last two viable cities in the western hemisphere – Technoburbia and New Baravia – struggle for control over a vast and largely desolate land. Officially they are at war. In practice, the war has been a stalemate for a generation, the disputed frontier between the two city-states never moving. In the city of New Baravia itself, a vast circular concrete wall keeps its inhabitants in, and its refugees out. For its citizens, life is monotonous and unequal, with enormous wealth in the hands of nobles, criminal gangs, and entertainment bosses. It is the last of these that control the hit entertainment show, “Demon Hunters”. A chance, perhaps, for the ordinary man or woman to rise up, and change their fate... This LitRPG novella is based around a futuristic battle-royale situation, partly set in VR, and partly in a post-apocalyptic city. The story features combat and action, some strong language, and lots of great characters that will stick with you! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Aristocratic Avenue

After dozens of failed LitRPG serial attempts and countless thousands of words written, he's found himself pushing forty and broke, living alone in a crappy apartment. But when the platform upon which he publishes his work, Aristocratic Avenue, gains sentience, he and his fellow writers suddenly finds themselves transported to a playground of its own making, a place where there are no rules except the ones the authors have imposed upon themselves through their own writing. Spawned in pods of three, they will need to work together to figure out just what the darned heck they're supposed to be doing and how to get the goodness gracious out of there. In Andrew's pod are the bossy and enigmatic Margeaux Sinclair, crossover erotica/LitRPG author who immediately demands increasingly kinky sex from the hapless Andrew in order to level up. There's also teenager Zachary, who is rather regretting his choice to write about a world populated only by the undead.
