“Before I release your dear allies, could you tell me what you plan to do after that?” You ask Chi stalling for time and trying to get more information out of her and figure out how to worm your way into her mind. “Because it would not be in my interest to let your girls go, only to have you attack me anyway.”

“I will leave right away and you will never see us again,” Chi says flatly.

“That’s a lie,” You say.

“Of course it is! You’re in no position to negotiate. And now you're just stalling,” Chi says and presses a single strand of hay against the edge of her katana. The strand is cut in half instantly. “I should have known that expecting you to be true to your word is foolish.”

Fuck! So, no luck without submission?

“Your group harassed this place constantly! I was just helping the poor girl protect herself!” You try to argue and then cast [Submission]. “Isn’t there a way for us to find a peaceful resolution?”

“There is—you let go of my subordinates and everyone else who you’ve mind controlled! If someone willingly wishes to stay with you, I won’t stop them.”

“And you won’t stop them if they wish to tear me limb from limb either, correct?”

For the first time since you’ve arrived, Chi lets out the slightest of smiles. Her tiny fang peaks out.

You’re considering your options and trying to figure out whether your submission does anything at all or you’re just wasting energy, and finally open your mouth to speak, “What if—“

“He tried to kill your brother, you know?” Pythia shouts from behind interrupting you.

You fucking bitch!! You glare at the bird-monster with a similar glare that Chi directed at you when you arrived here.

“Who hasn’t?” Chi disregards Pythia’s revelation. “At least he didn’t try to eat my brother.”

“Well, you can’t blame a girl for trying, can you?” Pythia says and smiles. “But I really can’t help it! Your race is just so tasty!”

You turn around and look at Chi. That faint smile is gone! She is somehow keeping her face from completely contorting with rage, grabbing her hilt so tight you can see a vein bulging. The killing intent you feel from Chi makes Beta’s yesterday’s killing intent compare to a kitten’s. Everything about this screams that Chi is barely keeping herself under control.

“Pythia, that’s enough!” You shout at your supposed ally.

“Hm, what was her name?” Pythia looks upward as if trying to remember, stroking her chin with the feathers of her wing, completely ignoring your order. “Oh, right, I remember! Eta!”

“PYTHIA, STOP!!” You command, casting [Submission] on her.

“She screamed so wonderfully,” Pythia says smiling maliciously at Chi. “Crying for your name while my troglodytes ripped her to pieces.”

Chi dashes past you at inhuman speed, straight at Pythia.

The episode ends with you looking at Chi's back. The battle bunny is frozen in time, leaning forward during the sprint, both katanas drawn. The image turns into a stylistic, hand-drawing picture, tinted orange, with rays of sun shining down on both Pythia and Chi.
