《The Demon Lord’s Successor》What if: Dark Magician Girl
Advertisement
You stand in a dark, gut-covered room, next to a shriveled-up corpse of—apparently—your father. You feel magical energy flowing through you. A beautiful, young minotaur girl is standing in front of you. You listen to her explain what has happened, just like you demanded.
It is obvious she has great expectations of you, most likely based on your supposed father’s abilities. To figure out what your options even are you gather all the Isekai knowledge at your disposal and manage to successfully open a game-like Status tab.
Apart from your level and your class as a Demon Lord, there is not much to look at. A button keeps flashing on and off in bright red letters.
[Pick your Specializations!]
You press it. You are able to choose two specializations:
[Elemental Magician]
[Warlock]
[Healer]
[Assassin]
[Ranger]
[Knight]
[Berserker]
[Necromancer]
[Sexomancer]
[Dark Magician Girl]
[Farmer]
[Builder]
Alright, let’s try something interesting! For your first Specialization, you pick Warlock for the many possible Summons. That sounds like a fun one, you think and press [Warlock] on the translucent tab. Then you again look at all the possible options. I wonder what my life would be as a builder? I could level up and create monuments that would stand for a thousand years after I’m dead! Or... You press the [Dark Magician Girl] button because your curiosity gets the better of you.
It would be cool if it actually turned m̴̛̈́͝e iň̷̑͐̿ẗ̸̡̥̈͜ǫ̵̛̠͖͊͋̂̄̽̆̓ ̷̹̓̓̂͌̓́̒̂̕ȁ̵͚̭̐̈́͊̉̇̐̎̿̕ ̴̰̬͇̘̠̺̖̗͇͆̒̌̆̇̾̈́͑ͅp̶̡̧̧̫̜̜̰͇̋̑̈́̽͐̅̃̽̈͝͝r̴̡̡̧̛̦̪͉̼̤͓͖̱̱͆̆̾̈͂̇̿̀̇͝͝e̷͎̽ẗ̷̡̡͔͈̞̳͓̫͍̼̥͐̑͊͆̆̌͐͘̚͠ͅt̴̨͕͖̩͓̯̖̫̎́͊̓̂ͅy̵̡̺̥̤͉̦̰̦̜͋̍̅̐̾̄́ͅ ̴̢̧̺̟̠̲̫̥̪̟̺̹̹́̉́͂̔̂̉̓͘͠ģ̵̛̣̙̹̰̭̿̄̔̓́͛̀͐̀͘̕ị̴̧̺̲̖̯͉̫̝̹͇͕̮̌̎͑̑͊͝ŗ̷̛̘̭͕̻͈̥̲̝͎̮̐̈́̚͠l̵̡̜̝̣̟̗̥̗̆̐̊̏͐̚ ̴̡̛̥̣̺̲͇̼͎̿̈́͒̔͘͝w̷̲̱͓̰̝̙͇͚͕̼̮̐̄͊͜i̷̜̰͚͌̽̿̈̂̊̾̏̈ţ̴̧̳͓͓̫̲̦͇̭̞̝̒̆̀h̴̨̫̬͔̼̺̗̖̜̻̉͛—̷̢̳̖͖̩̱̠͈̲͈̃͌̍̃́͜͜
With glitching, high-pitched, distorted sound, everything around you splits and slides of axis like shattered glass. Then colors invert and everything becomes increasingly pixelated, changing shapes with increasing painful noise...
You open your eyes and blink a couple of times. Everything is clearer than it has ever been. There is no annoying sound. How could there be? Everything is great! Ariadne stands before you, her eyes open in utter shock.

You look down at your slender hands with thin, graceful fingers and pink fingernails. You look further below at the rest of your body, your view is slightly obstructed by your impressive cleavage. Your skin has the slightest tint of brown, nothing more than a slight sun-tan. You're not sure why that would earn you the title of "Dark". You’re wearing blue robes, that reveal plenty of skin for tantalizing fan-service shots. You’ve turned into a girl! You haven’t seen your face but you know it must be beautiful!
“M-m-m-my Lord?” The minotaur girl stutters and rubs her eyes in disbelief of what she sees.
“Don’t worry, your troubles are over!” You say cheerfully. “Remind me, what was your name?”
“A-Ariadne,” the big-breasted girl speaks her name.
“What a beautiful name!” you fly up to Ariadne and hug her.

Eh, fly? You’re confused for a second. Ah, of course, I know how to fly!
“I’m sorry, I... W-what is going on? I-I don’t understand!” Ariadne keeps stuttering but doesn’t try to escape your gentle hug.
“Everything is going to be fine,” you gently whisper with a beautiful voice belonging to a young girl. Belonging to you!
“Sorry for doing this, but it will make things easier,” you say and place the palm of your hand on Ariadne’s head, between her curved horns.

“W-what?”
“Let’s hurry outside and get some fresh air!” You grab Ariadne by the hand and drag her out of the room. She barely resists. From shock? Or are you just that strong? Your feet never touch the floor.
“Illuminate!” You shout and point your curved, blue staff forward. The tip of the spear shines brightly, showing the path ahead and at the same time, it is somehow gentle on the eyes. You can freely look at the soothing, comforting light.
[Skill unlocked!]
[Illuminate – Level 1 (0%)
Active
Cost: 5 Energy
Shines a bright light from the tip of the spear illuminating everything within a forty feet radius.]
You rush to the outer gates, learning exactly where they are from Ariadne’s memories. You open the gates and storm outside into the gentle warmth of the sun.
Then you hear what could only be an arrow zipping through the air.
“Shield!”
[Skill unlocked!]
[Shield – Level 1 (0%)
Active
Cost: 40 Energy
Materializes a shield five feet in diameter. Can block up to 500 points of damage of either physical or magical attacks.]
The arrow disintegrates in a zap of energy, the moment it touches the surface of the shield, which is as thin as a hair and wouldn’t even be visible if looked at directly from the side.
"Stand back," you say to Ariadne and look at her with a reassuring smile.
Up ahead on the rocky terrain you see a dozen or two humans, mostly men, with a mish-mash of medieval weapons and armor. Hapless bandits, whose unfortunate past has brought them on the path of crime.
“This time you’re dead!” A man in a hooded black cloak and a staff in his hand shouts from behind the bandits. “Attack! Attack!”
“Your days of harassing this poor girl are over!” You shout and raise your staff above your head. “Dark Vortex!”
[Skill unlocked!]
[Dark Vortex – Level 1 (0%)
Active
Cost: 200 Energy
Cast a dark sphere to any location within a hundred feet from you. The sphere has a gravitational pull of two times the earth’s gravity, which affects the targets of your choice within its area of effect.]
You cast the spell and a dark sphere, three feet in diameter appears on the rocky ground, right in the middle of the bandit group. It takes only a couple of seconds before all of the bandits are pulled to it from all directions, lumping on top of one another in an ever-increasing ball of screaming bodies.
You fly up to the trapped bandits and say, “Surely there are better ways to earn a living? How about we talk this through?”
“Yes!!! Please!! Just release us!!” They all scream something similar. Those that are on the surface of the human ball. Those that are deeper inside must be suffocating, so you remove the sphere and the human ball collapses below your feet.
“I am the new Demon Lord!” you say with a smile while levitating above the nearest bandit and extend your slender hand for a handshake. “Pleased to meet you!”
