《The Demon Lord’s Successor》34: Dead Man Walking

Ariadne again attempts to charge right at the leader of the bandits. With a wave of his hand Xi effortlessly creates a wall of fire that reaches the ceiling right in front of her. Ariadne charges straight through the fire and gets hit by a fireball the moment she appears on the other side of the wall.
“Aaahh!” Ariadne screams in pain and falls to the ground, dropping her greataxe and covering her face with her burnt hands.
“Honestly,” Xi says and takes a step in your sister's direction, “How stupid are you? That’s why cattle are only good for feeding and breeding.”
“Let’s have you return the favor for what you did to me,” you whisper to the dryad and forcefully open his eyes with your one hand, place the other on his green chest and cast [Submission].
“Attack Xi with all your might, even if it kills you! In fact, if you have a way for both of you to die, that would be perfect!” You command the dryad and with your last drops of energy summon [Hellfruit], jam it in his mouth, and say, “A parting gift.”
Xi points his index finger at your sister and fires a bolt of fire at her body. Then another one, then another one.
“Aaargh!” Ariadne screams and writhes in pain. You see that her face is a mix of glistening red and white, her eyes are closed, her perfect golden locks are charred. Each time Ariadne tries to get up, Xi fires another bolt at the limb she uses for support.
“It’s been a while since I’ve prepared a meal this way,” Xi says with a smile and takes another step forward, continuously firing small bolt of fire one after the other. “I might even consider keeping you alive long enough to taste it first. If you beg for it that is! So how is it? Are you going to be ready soon? Probably not, but do tell me so that I don’t over-cook you! Bwahahahh!”

As Xi continues laughing maniacally the dryad appears behind him, skipping the last few steps with his special ability for the element of surprise and punches Xi in the kidney with all his might
“Blurgh!” Xi arches his back in pain and turns his head to see the giant tree-man behind him. “You useless decoration!”
As the dryad swings for another attack, Xi grabs one of the dryad’s branches and shouts “INCINERATION!”
The dryad lights up as if doused in gasoline. The bunny man simply lets go of the dryad, completely unharmed by his own attack. Even as he burns alive, the stubborn and mind-controlled dryad steps forward and attempts another strike at Xi. Xi simply takes a couple of steps back and watches as the burning man’s movements become rigid, then he falls to his knees and, finally, on the floor. Dead and motionless while his corpse burns away.
“I guess that serves me right for expecting something from a lower creature—Argh!”
The bunny man’s tirade is interrupted by Ariadne’s greataxe, lodged in his back. She breathes heavily, holding her weapon with shaking hands, not even having enough strength to properly cut through the body.
“You... Lowly cow...” Xi utters turning his head toward Ariadne, as blood pours from his mouth.
“Where is my father’s body?” she asks single-mindedly, with only one of her eyes open, barely. It's bright red.
“Ariadne!” You run toward the wounded duo, “Kill him now!”
“Your... father? Well, well—cough!” Xi coughs out blood, but somehow managees to keep smiling. “You want to know? Cough! I could... take you to your dear daddy.”
“Ariadne!! Kill him!” You shout. You’re almost there if only you could cast even the weakest of your spells. You’ll just have to do it with your bare hands.

“Tell me where he is and I’ll ease your suffering,” Ariadne says and slightly turns the handle of her axe, opening Xi’s wound further.
“Aaargh! I’ll take you to him right now!” Xi screams and snaps his fingers. A flaming circle erupts around them and engulfs them both in fire just before you can reach them. The heat forces you back. Then the flame dies out just as suddenly as it appears. Both Xi and your sister have vanished with the flame.
You stand there for a couple of seconds as reality kicks in. Xi has escaped. Your sister is gone. And as your eyes water from the poisonous smoke, your brain again registers the screams coming from the other side of the hall. That fight is not over yet.
You turn around and amidst blood, fire, and smoke see one of your imps impaled through the stomach on a longsword, by a man in red robes, who is also wounded, sliding to the ground with his back against the stone wall. The loli imp desperately tries and fails to reach the man with her daggers. Unable to do that, she grabs the blade with her empty hand and pulls her body on the blade, toward the man until she can stab him in the neck. The man’s body gives out and falls to the ground with the sword and the imp. The loli disintegrates into tiny pieces.
You smile bitterly, as your health and energy are restored and a semi-translucent tab with text appears before your eyes. Really couldn’t do that a minute sooner?

The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound
As the system initializes, the world shifts. Geography is rearranged and mixed, and levels and stats are instituted across the globe. On that night, one young man was walking through an underground tunnel, his mind on the small problems of his easy life. Because of his location during the shift, he starts in a dungeon far above his level, with no knowledge or teacher, or Newbie Village to guide him. Without a class, he struggles simply to survive in this world changed by its new connection to the Nexus. But struggle he will, for he is Randidly Ghosthound, and this is only how his legend begins... Cover credit to cthulupillar **Author's Note** This started as a way to destress and play with overly complicated stats systems and level systems, and I just kept writing. I don't really take it very seriously, but feel free to read and enjoy.

8 92Remember the Rules
Uriel doesn't know where she is. Or who she is.All she remembers is her name and two yellow eyes with a deep voice. All she has is a dagger and a small brown notebook with rules about weird things. Things called "Dreamshade" and places called "Neverland." All she knows is that she should follow the rules, or she will get hurt.Rule #1: Try to avoid people, especially people named Peter Pan.Disclaimer: I do NOT own Once Upon a Time or any characters IN Once Upon a Time. All rights go to their rightful owners. ALSO: I will not be sticking closely, if at all, to the plotline of the show, just because.... I can't. I just can't. It's too amazing to change. This work is completely MINE.~Emma
