《The Demon Lord’s Successor》5: The Fight

So, these wannabe thugs want to mess with your sister? And by the looks of it, they’ve been pestering her for some time now! Well, they’ll get what's coming to them and then some!
“Ariadne, Attack! I’ll cover you!”
First things first—you have no intention to dodge arrows while casting spells, so you cast [Shadow Bolt] at the first archer you see. A dark bolt flies from your hand at the speed of an arrow. Perhaps a more aware opponent might have even dodged it, but this one didn’t. He powerlessly falls back as if hit by a hammer and no longer shows signs of life.
You were too generous when you labeled them as generic bandits. They’re target practice!
“A Sorcerer!” One of the men shouts.
“Don’t just stand there!” The cloaked figure shouts at his minions.
Another [Shadow Bolt] takes care of the second archer. An arrow hits you in the left shoulder. There was a third archer hiding behind the rocks!
“Argh!” You can’t help but cry out in pain and almost fall over. In movies and anime the characters always shrug off such wounds like paper cuts, but you can’t even move your left arm properly. Luckily you still have your other arm so you retaliate with [Drain Life], sending the third archer to the afterlife. Green aura flies from his body and into yours.
You feel as good as new and the arrow—still lodged in your shoulder—is now nothing more than a minor inconvenience. The good news is that even your healing spell is strong enough to one-shot a run-of-the-mill bandit. The bad news is that apparently your current life and defense isn’t any more impressive than that of a run-of-the-mill bandit.
Meanwhile, Ariadne already engaged a dozen bandits somewhere in the middle between you and the main enemy force. It looks like she’s mostly just dodging and blocking their attacks with her greataxe. One of the bandits even manages to nick her arm with a horizontal swing of his longsword. A drop of blood lands on her face.

At that moment Ariadne jumps up, with her greataxe above her head, and lowers it at the bandit, who had enough time to raise his steel shield to protect his head. Her swing bends the shield, turning it into a wedge, and drives it through the bandit’s skull and neck, stopping somewhere in his ribcage.
At first, the surrounding bandits are taken aback by the gory sight. But when they see Ariadne turn her head in search of her next prey with glowing red eyes and an excited grin, their faces turn white in horror.
“Idiots take care of the sorcerer first!” The cloaked figure commands the half of his bandit force, that isn’t busy going through a meatgrinder at the moment. They do just that and run at you, with swords, shields, axes and spears of their own.
Figuring that in close combat you won’t fare as well as your sister, you cast [Summon Imps] to gain a buffer. Immediately three scantily clad loli girls with horns on their heads appear between you and the bandits.
“...” There is an uncomfortable silence as the charging bandits stop and stare at the girls.
“Bwahahaha!!” They proceed to laugh hysterically at the sigh of the imp girls that look like children with little more than leather belts for cover and a couple of daggers for weapons.
Were your Warlock summons affected by the Sexomancer specialization? Or were the imps always going to be loli girls anyway?
Finding the bandits’ laughter irritating, you cast [Aphrodisiac Mist] on them, since they’ve gone out of their way to bunch up together into a nice group.
You are able to perceive an ever-so-slight mist form around the bandits. Their laughter grows quieter. It’s hard to tell how much are they aroused. Clearly, not enough to strip down and start fucking each other right then and there, so you decide to be more direct and cast [Submission] on the biggest, dumbest-looking dude in the group.

“Take the spear from that woman and fuck her silly!” You order him.
The muscle-bound man is more than willing to comply. He drops his weapons and tackles the young spearwoman to the ground, ripping her robes to pieces.
“Argh! Stop! What are you doing?” She cries. The other bandits are shocked at the sight, and yet, don’t do much to stop the violation.
Is he blushing? You ask yourself looking at the kid closest to the couple. The woman is already on her back, with her perky tits exposed and hands bound above her head by the brute, desperately trying to keep her legs closed. Feeling your magical energy running low, you decide to try again and cast [Aphrodisiac Mist] one more time.
The woman stops struggling, and the brute reveals a massive erection before entering her. He has no need for a dick enlargement spell you conclude. The kid next to them visibly touches his groin, most likely to reposition his own erection, as the woman audibly gasps and moans.
The second female amongst the bandits already finds herself surrounded on all sides. The twenty-something-year-old girl with long fiery hair, shows no signs of resistance as the men grope her ever more daringly.
And then there were the two men who remained to the side, showing no interest in the female form.
With most of your spells tested and little energy left you decide there is only one thing to do.
“Imps, attack the bandits!” You command your three summonings. “And don’t let them fuck you no matter what!”
The loli imps gleefully cheer in a high pitch voice and dash at the preoccupied bandits at astonishing speed, considering their small bodies. With their daggers out the imps begin a stabbing spree, attacking the hips and legs of whichever bandits are standing and, once they’ve fallen, stabbing them countless times in rapid succession.
Seeing fresh female form, a couple of clueless men attempt to grab the imps but get set ablaze for their troubles. Turns out that these imps can also cast fireballs from their hands. Even though the bandits are incapable of any real resistance, it's still frightening how quickly the three lolis took care of business.
Only muscle giant refuses to go down—even after at least twenty stabbings, he continues humping the spearwoman under him like a man possessed, while she arches her back and cries in ecstasy. The lolis had no interest in this show and shot three fireballs at the couple. They burned alive, screaming in a mix of pain and pleasure.
Only once the carnage is done you notice that the cloaked figure is nowhere to be seen.
[Level up!]
[Congratulations! You are now a level 3 Demon Lord!]
You feel your energy restored. A quick glance at the skill tab shows that your individual spells did not increase in level from just a few uses. Then you see your sister approaching you, covered in blood head to toe.
“What kind of magic was that?” She asks with a slight smile.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

Midnight Moonlight
Abigail is not afraid of anything in particular. She’s just… afraid. All the time. Of everything and everyone. She weaves wild stories to explain her state of perpetual anxiety to the people around her, preferring they treat it as a joke than treat her as a neurotic freak. It’s a plan that works well enough: with a little help from her best friend Megan, Abigail can almost pretend to be normal. But when Megan decides to help out with Abigail’s love life, Abigail finds herself trapped on a date with a ridiculously sexy man who accidentally lets slip that some of the things Abigail has “made up” are true – and that the rest of the truth is stranger than her fiction. Suddenly thrown into a world that has turned out to be crazier than she is, Abigail is going to have to learn to cope with werewolves, vampires, faeries, and being passionately kissed – and she’s going to have to learn fast, because there is a shadow war that has been roiling through the background of history, and she’s just come to the attention of all the players.

It's not a game
Where am I? This is not my room. What is this place. If you were transported to another world, to be an RPG protagonist. Just another average weak human being, with nothing but ten copper coins and a crappy sword. Could you defeat demons, monsters and giants? I think not. In a world inhabited by all manner of unspeakable evil, by devils of both monster and man. Could you right wrongs and fix a broken world? I think not. When both your fellow man, demons and the very divines that hold reality together conspire to corrupt, extort and rape this world. When they toy with you and laugh in amusement as you dance in their palms. Could you alter fate? I think not. So when this is the thorny path ahead of our protagonists, why would you expect them to be able to? They’re just human after all, teenagers at that. Nevertheless, join me on an epic journey that will alter the course of history and reality itself as our protagonists show you what it really means to be human... in an inhuman world.
