《Royal Sorcerer》ch. 6 Preparations

Once I crossed the portal, I entered a cacophony of sound and confusion. The noise and commotion slowly began to peter down as people noticed me and my companions walk out of the portal coming back out of the portal.
There was such a sea of diversity in front of me creatures and species of all kinds of fantasy lore. I saw orcs, goblins, Gnomes, dwarves and others races I had no name for. I was overwhelmed at first but I got a hold of myself quickly and scanned the crowd seeing orcs were of the majority.
I walked over to the control panel and set the portal mage down and told him to open a portal to the orc world so I could begin their evacuation.
I then addressed the crowd “ We will be evacuting the orcs that want to leave first as they hold the greatest majority, Once they are finished we will move on to the next biggest group.
I could hear some grumbling but most seemed okay with my decision so I decided I should do a strategy meeting with my people and gestured to Diego and Tamira to follow me along with Luk and his merry band.
We made our way to the top of the fort where the commander's old office was. Along the way Diego kept sticking something to every wall he could get his hands on. Although I was curious, I figured I could ask during the meeting or when me and him had a moment alone. Someone had obviously cleaned up the body which I was grateful for. The man may have deserved to die but i wasnt gonna keep his body like a trophy. The thought made me shudder.
As everyone else got seated, I pulled Luk aside and told him that he would be leading the meeting for a number of reasons from his knowledge of his half brother as well his extensive knowledge about the fort and training in strategies his father made him learn. He seemed unsure and tried to shy out of the job but i held firm and he relented.
Looking scared but with resolve in his eye, he began explaining about the fort's various defences as well as other facts about the complex like the fact that the stonewall were filled with minerals basically making the whole buildings a conduit for electrical based magic. He then suggested we may want to abandon the fort because of that being that his brother is also a lightning user and is well versed in using the fort for offensive measure. I thought about this idea quite a bit but i felt like i needed more information before i could make that call.

“Ok “ I said “ how long until he gets back here”
Luk looked uncertain and spoke “ he is supposed to be back 2 days from now but knowing his debauchery and the fact he doesn’t know what happened here yet, He might not be back for 3 days.”
This was great. Two days should be more than enough time to evacuate any noncombatants and give us time to prepare, train and adjust to this new world.
“Ok “ I said we should break into teams and begin preparing any way we can” “ Kon and tamira i need you to assist in evacuations and help any way you can once that's done“ He left in a hurry and I then turned to Luk, Tike and Grace. “ I need you to find the hybrids that are staying to fight, get them outfitted and assign them a position to defend and I'm going to discuss with Diego about what we can do to make this place into a real fortress.
Finally I turned to one of my best friends and asked what the material he kept sticking to every surface was. He then explain its all purpose plant he created from using magic and splicing several plant types from earth It can become like bark vines shrubs leaves and so much more. My staff which can transform into anything i want The versatility ends with our imagination. I could see the spots he had placed on the wall were growing outward in a vinelike configuration saturated by the magic of this world
I looked at him and asked
“ can we cover the whole building with this in two days?”
He smiled and replied” easily”
Were obviously going to do that but my new question was how had he become beefed up so quickly I had my suspicions but I wanted to hear them from him. I pointed at his now bulky frame prompting another smile and a mock flex “ Jealous “ he joked before explaining that he put himself through grueling workouts repeatedly and then had Tamira heal him so he could begin.
I grimaced hearing that it must have been grueling. The results though spoke for themself. I might even have to consider trying that myself. I asked him how quickly the plant material would take to cover the whole building.

The answer for that was complicated to say the least. Apparently It should cover every inch of teh building in 2 and a half days. Possibly faster or slower depending on if we focused our attention and mana on it. It would require a substantial devotion of time but Diego assured me the plant could hold mana like a battery, act like a conductor for nature magic, absorb magical attacks and even be used for defensive combat features once it has evolved enough. It draws in mana from every section while expelling life energy while at the same time having a higher carbon dioxide to oxygen exchange meaning it produces more air faster while taking in the co2 faster too. When it is finished it will have a Canopy that absorb mana light and water
I was seriously impressed. I had always known Diego was a smart cookie. In the time I was gone he trained like crazy and had made himself a dope all purpose plant that had a familiar nostalgic smell to it. I gave him a sidelong glance but figured we could talk about my suspicions later. I told him
We walked towards the commander's office making small talk about how we couldnt believe this was real. We had both dreamed of this day for years and now here we were in another world.
As we finally got to the office and walked to the back of the room. Diego then planted his staff onto the stone upright and let go. It remained standing held up by the roots and vines spread from its base.
Diego then gestured for me to put my hand on the staff and direct my mana into it with the intent of pure energy. So I did and I felt the energy begin to trickle out of me.
Unfortunately I am not very patient and I assumed I could jsut speed this up by shoving more faster through the staff. This seemed to be working for a few seconds but then the staff got hotter and started glowing until it snapped in half
I looked at Diego, shame on my face to see him laughing his ass off.
Apparently, He had known this would happen and needed a strong power surge to supercharge his new wands/ecima sticks. Now he had all he needed to work on his project with the power input so he suggested I do training with Tamira and one of the others still laughing at my frizzy hair.
I went stomping off in search of Luk and tamira figuring as my two vassals they could give me the best training on their own abilities plus i could just spar with Luk and have tamira heal us constantly or do grueling workout session like
Diego had suggested speaking of vassal and stats, i decided to pull my full sheet

Tale of a Cruel World
A world where civilization is worthless and the meanderings of the wild bend humanity to its knees. This the tale of a cruel world, seemingly destined never to find peace. Through calamity after catastrophe, through silence and storm, its people have survived. Though, soon the final calamity will come. A clone of the strongest, most feared mage, Calamitas, bioengineered to only feel 'positive' emotions, and an ordinary hunter fighting to protect his dying sister begin their journey with a wish to rid a city of plaguebrought strife. (This is based on the Calamity Mod for Terraria, but should be perfectly readable to any normal viewers. To make its universe into a living, breathing place requires liberties enough to make this almost 'my own' world, so keep in mind that this isn't a very 'conventional' fanfiction(or maybe it is, I don't actually know the conventions).)
