Chapter 12: The waterfall where it all began!

Leiming who was in a meditative position, gazing at the vast land beneath lost in thought.

“Father? His words? Was it a coincidence? How could he have known the words you told me when talking about mother?” His face looked confused, yet serene. Leiming stayed in a meditative position viewing the vast land, and how beautiful it looked from this cliff. The land from below and the rocky mountains with the blazing sun landing beautifully on the rose, jade like flush forests below made the view spectacular, giving it a peculiar glow that could bewitch a man for hours.

Wenrou approaching, his footsteps heavy and joyful. His arms swinging by his sides, trying to generate enough strength to allow him to climb this slightly steep cliff.

He approached behind Leiming, without second thought he interrupted “Master, I am ready now. Let us begin to train!”

Leiming hearing Wenrous voice, just leaned back, rotating his head back 180% to see Wenrou behind him without a speck of politeness or obedience to his ‘so called master’.

Leiming just looked at Wenrou from top to bottom, sizing him up with a look of dissatisfaction. “Who is your master? Before I take you under my tutelage, you need to be responsible to your words. Are you ready?” His gaze transforming from serene to sinister in seconds.

Wenrou seeing this change, felt his scalp go numb. He could only gulp and nod in return. What did he get himself into?

“Let us begin then. Hold on tightly. Ban Ban wake up!” With that mighty shout, Leiming stomped his right foot…

Wenrou could only feel the land beneath his feet begin to shake, the skies rocked upside down, left and right! “WAHHHHH! WHATS GOING ON” Wenrous scream came flooding out extremely panicked!

“RARARARARARARARA!! HIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHI!!” A voice came booming out, hoarse and deep, followed by an extremely loud sound of a massive chunk of land detaching itself from the rocky cliffs, seemingly alive! Wenrou twisting and turning on the rocky land, before falling of felt Leiming catch him.

Leiming smiling deviously at Wenrou “Meet Ban Ban. Don’t look so frightened boy, he is harmless.”

“What... What is it?!” His voice confused and shocked, the sounds from this beast sounded human like but also degenerate, could it really be alive?! He looked around disbelievingly, rubbing his eyes unable to comprehend such a beast.

“Sit down and hold on to a piece of long grass. Ban Ban is a rock fish. Just like a rock fish, he has the power to manipulate earth and wind, he is able to traverse both elements like a fish in the water. His species is extremely rare, almost extinct, for you to have not witnessed one before, is quite natural.”

With that Leiming sat down, crossing his arms, and entering his meditative state once again.

Wenrou was extremely confused and curious, his questions flowed out without end “It can speak?! It can fly!? How big is it!?”

Leiming couldn’t avoid such questions, Ban Ban without question is a rare species and would attract everybody’s attention. He could only answer Wenrous questions “Ban Ban isn’t able to speak the human tongue, he is still a baby but his mind will never outgrow the way it is. Even when he becomes an adult, he will still act like a child. Rock Fish are kind in nature, they speak through the manipulation of the elements.”

“The rock fish species, mainly develop the abilities of sage like grandmasters being able to grow two seeds since birth making them extremely special. These elements are mainly water and earth. However, there is a special type with the ability to fly, such as this one. He is one of a kind.” Leiming finished his speech, patting it with his right hand, seemingly proud of Ban Ban.

“There is enough room for about 5-6 people, Ban Ban doesn’t like it when too many ride him though. He has feelings as well! Ban Ban, let’s head over to the place where you have your bath! Also I have a new friend for you to play with!” With that Leiming, slapped him once again sending vibrations through Ban Ban’s body!

“RARARARARARARARARA” Ban Ban upon hearing he had a new friend, was unable to contain his excitement a large pink tongue came out the size of two men put together, as he twisted in mid-air flying to the designated bath location!

Wenrou was still way to confused. ‘What the fuck is this thing?!’ is all he could think in his mind. It looked way to scary, it looked like a giant smooth pebble that he would throw, and skim across the lakes when he was a kid. Further examining

Ban Ban, he could see it had about four tails swirling in the air, what seemed like it kept them afloat and propelling in the air! What was odd, was that the swirling tails, and didn’t disrupt the air at all, moving through and around the air so calm and smooth.

Ban Ban looked green on the top side, with vegetation growing, if he never saw this beast fly today, he would think it was just a normal piece of land!

Wenrou managed to calm down after a period of time, remembering what his master said earlier “Master, where are we going, and what is the final task I must do?!”

Leiming just ignored the additional advances Wenrou made. Seemingly, doing enough teaching today by explaining Ban Ban!

Soon a mountain began to coalesce in the distance, and a little while later the violent, turbulent sounds of water crashing into rock and lake surrounded the area. Wenrou noticing this, looked up to see a familiar place. It was the waterfall that separated the upper and lower half of the planet, remembering how he met Ri and Grandpa Baohu, he didn’t look at the waterfall with anger, but slightly elated.

Soon before Ban Ban descended, Leiming got up abruptly signalling Ban Ban to just hover in the air for a little while. He turned to look at Wenrou, his expression was slightly grim thinking to himself ‘this is it boy. Prove to me, don’t disappoint me!”

“Wenrou, to train under me is to be prepared to die. You see how far we are up from the ground?”

Wenrou had a bad premonition “Yes, we are quite far up. What are we doing here, master?” his words were filled with confusion.

“You have to jump into the waterfall below.” His words extremely fast, and clear. No room for negotiation!

Wenrou just grit his teeth, voicing his concerned thoughts “But why? What is the point of jumping from this height, I am not a good swimmer and perhaps, I’ll die before I even reach the lake! What is the point in this?”

“Are you so dumb, you make me repeat my words? You must be prepared to die! If you won’t jump, you don’t have the gall nor the spirit to train under me!”

With that Leiming, looked extremely furious he continued berating Wenrou “What a fucking waste of time. Why did I bother with you?” Leiming began to move to the edges looking the opposite side to Wenrou, unwilling to put this useless person in his gaze.

Ban Ban hearing the harsh tone was able to understand the situation wasn’t as joyful as earlier and cried out in sadness “rurururuuuuu….”

Wenrou gritting his teeth further, I already fell down here once. I have nothing to lose, except this trash life! “All I have to do is jump? And you will take me on as your student?”

Without waiting for consent, he rushed to the edges of Ban Ban facing the waterfall. Without thinking ahead, or considering the possibilities that this could be death he clenched his jaw, closed his eyes and launched himself off!

“…!” An expression of shock plastered across Leimings face, followed by a grin.

“I wasn’t wrong!”

Ban Ban seeing Wenrou jump off, wished to follow him by stopping his flight and diving behind Wenrou “HIHIHIHIHI”

“Not yet friend, few more breaths. He mustn’t cry out in help! He must be prepared to die!” Leiming, clenching his hands, this was the spirit that would make a master martial artist or break one! If you couldn’t break this boundary, you would never break it no matter how strong you are!

Wenrou was hurling towards the lake, the crashing sounds of the waterfall hitting the lake kept growing and growing. Soon his mind, reeled in thoughts thinking of his mother and how he left her behind and all these years he never thought about going back to say how sorry he was. The day he ran away from home, how he left Jie crying and didn’t comfort him.

‘Am I really going to die with such heavy regrets?’ The wind blasting into his face, he was unable to make any movements, this fast descent left him immobile. Even if he wanted to cry out in help, it was too late. He just closed his eyes, clenching his hands harder!

Feeling himself approaching the ground his body let out an involuntary roar “AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGG!!”

“Now! BAN BAN CATCH HIM!” Leiming, close to the head of Ban Ban stomped powerfully, resonating a high vibration telling Ban Ban the situation is dire! They must catch him before he crashes!

Ban Ban energized gave out a cry of power “RARARARARARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” HIS BODY INSTANTLY DROPPING LIKE A COMET, LIKE A CHAIN ATTACHED TO WENROU HE WAS ENCLOSING INCH BY INCH, INSTANTLY IT BECAME METRE BY METRE! Wenrou 15 metres above the lake surface, his roar resounding out as if it would help him eclipse the pain he would feel by crashing into the lake!

“RAAAAAAAAA” BAN BANS MOUTH OPENING UP, HE WAS JUST UP BEHIND WENROU! WHAT SEEMED LIKE A GIANT PINK ROCK CAME RUSHING OUT, WRAPPING AROUND WENROU LIKE A CACOON AND PULLING HIM STRAIGHT BACK IN TO HIS MOUTH!

A heavy crash sounded out, as a giant beast smashed into the lake surface ‘CHICHIHIHIIIII…’

A few moments later, just a bit further ahead, a beast emerged on the surface ‘CHACHAHCAAA’

Ban Ban came flying out of the water, and landing on the grass land near the lake!

Leiming, drenched wet, looked unsightly, but was pleased his student didn’t cry like a baby! This boy! Then he stomped Ban Ban which seemed to hurt him, “Let him out you baby! He isn’t going anywhere!”

Soon Ban Ban, just opened his mouth, his blocks of teeth that looked like giant white concrete walls opened up, releasing his giant pink tongue and out came Wenrou!

Wenrou was shocked, scared stiff! Before his crash he felt something disgusting and smelly encapsulate him! He turned around to only piece things together. Realizing Ban Ban’s giant white concrete teeth and pink tongue just about ready to wrap him up again put him into a state of terror! ‘AHHH’ he cried out in shock in his mind, seemingly lost his voice to say anything!

Ban Ban could feel Wenrou displeased with his tongue, he just voiced his discontent “ryryryryry” as if nothing to worry about. His mouth is clean!

Before Wenrou could continue, Leiming approached him. “You crazy boy… You really jumped, most would be unable to jump with a single though, and you never cried once from that distance. Go clean up, we can talk a bit later, when you don’t smell.” Leiming announcing his displeasure at the end, waving his hand in a fashion to blow away the smell from Wenrou.

Ban Ban looked down at Wenrou his tongue slapping onto the backside of Wenrou, pulling him in and jumping over to the lake and spitting him into the water ‘PAAAAA’.

This act seemed to have caused Ban Ban great joy laughing immediately after “HIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHIIHII”

Wenrou felt pitiful, going into Ban Ban’s mouth wasn’t so much fun. This was the second time, but for some reason he felt like it wasn’t going to be the last time! He could only get up, and undress moving closer to the waterfall to clean himself. Feeling the water overhead pouring made him feel slightly refreshed… but soon the water stopped coming from above.

“Eh?” Looking up, his expression became extremely ugly.

“This goddamn beast! What the hell he is cleaning himself up above! What a cheater!” Wenrou had enough, he began to shout his discontent at the situation, and however it fell on death ears.

Ban Ban was just cleaning himself, feeling the crashing water made him happier than most, moving into a position to drink all the water flooding into his giant mouth he could slightly hear Wenrou but just had the mind-set that he was the first student! The senior gets the best water!

After a long awhile later.

Wenrou was passed new clothing from Leiming, wearing it he slightly felt much more profound.

The garments was extremely comfy, and was still a bit baggy. Wenrous body wasn’t fed by the Qi and Essence of the worlds, so his body was much skinnier when compared to a healthy boys who had been training since a young age. However, he had hopes that would all change, his muscles would eventually tone up, his body would be able to absorb the Qi and Essence, with much more eating he would put fat on and then transform it into muscle as he began to train!

Wenrous hair was medium long at this point, it wasn’t long where it blocked his features, so he still had that damaged but naïve look visible to the world when he kept thinking of stuff.

Approaching his master, who was sitting around a newly made campfire near the lake just close by where Baohu had made camp, when they met for the first time. He could feel Ban Ban’s tongues shadow approaching him, before he was touched he spun lightning fast shouting “NOOO! NO!”

Ban Ban just cried out in displeasure “Ruruu... Ruuruu!”

Ban Ban made his way back to the lake, his new friend had made him sad.

Wenrou seeing how sad Ban Ban became, felt bad. Remembering what Leiming told him, he was just like a child, he heaved a sigh. “Okay, one lick only.” Another look of pity was expressed by him.

Quickly a rustle of ground and leaves followed by the looming presence of the great pink tongue! ‘sluuuuuuuuuurrpppp’ a giant tongue landed flat across Wenrous front!

With that, Ban Ban laid close to Wenrou, nudging him to sit on top of him. Where Wenrou, moved and sat cross legged on top of Ban Ban.

Ban Ban, slowly fell asleep the events of today, had put a strain on him. He was extremely tired.

“Wenrou, what do you know about Qi and the Essence of the worlds?” Leiming, observing their actions, waiting for it to die down before he began to address Wenrou.

“Nothing, I tried to learn at the schools around the lower districts. However, I was usually chased out, or used as a punching bag for the other kids to train!” He looked angry at the notion of how he was treated!

“So you know nothing really? I’ll explain the various forms to you later on. First we need to temper your body then you can slowly understand the laws of the world and the restrictions set on the body. You must understand Wenrou, your body, it isn’t completely blocked off from the laws of the world, rather different laws apply to it making you unable to cultivate.” Leiming, closed his eyes briefly, opening them again, with an undiscernible layer of Qi, observing Wenrous body in a detailed manner.

Viewing this body, he quickly noticed, there is a dark black hole surrounding his Dantian, it is disrupted from the world accumulating something completely different? There is no seed as well!?

This shocked even Leiming!

“Your seed! When you said earlier that it never began to grow, you truly meant it!” This is... unheard of!”

“Yes... I never lied!” That is all Wenrou said. Adding nothing additional to that, that alone would make Leiming understand just how weak his body is!

Next weeks chapter posted earlier! I had way to much fun writing this chapter, so I couldn't wait to post it for you guys! I hope you enjoyed it as well!
