《Bounty Cats》Book Two: Chapter 26

"Hey!" Rei screamed while standing in the middle of the street. "I'm over here!" She waved her arms, but the creature didn't appear. Either he was far away or he couldn't hear her. "Annyeonghaseyo! Do you still want me?"
Still nothing.
Rei puffed her cheeks in frustration. Perhaps she should try harder. "Listen! If you come, I will surrender! And….. I will let you impregnate me!"
Damn, those words tasted like poison to Rei. But she had no choice.
Suddenly, a black wave slid toward her from an alleyway. She turned around and raced toward the garage. “You can’t catch me!”
She laughed as she sprinted into the garage and took cover behind a rusted truck near Luna. When Muck entered the ancient repair shop, the shutter door slammed down, shut.
The catgirls rose and aimed their guns at the monster.
Muck laughed at them. “Foolsss! You are trapped here with me!”
Luna laughed back. “No! Your slimy ass is trapped here with us!”
The girls fired, spraying their energy ice blasts all over the creature. Muck charged, but he instantly froze before he reached the girls.
Rei kept firing, turning the monster completely white. After she stopped, she observed the frozen blob. "Did we get him?"
"Hmmmmmm." Luna approached the ugly ice statue and knocked on it. "I guess so, but I better call back-up."
"Gwaenchanh-a."
Luna stared at the ceiling. Fiona, do you read me?
Yes, what is it? Fiona's voice replied.
We got the oil monster, but we need reinforcements now. Rei and I don’t know how long we can hold the asshole.
Understood. I will track your location and meet you immediately with my squad.
Luna returned her gaze toward Muck. And bring an ice truck. You will need it to transport the target.

Uuuuuuuuuuh, okay.

One hour later, four mech lifters placed Muck on a hovering platform and pushed him into the ice truck on the street. Rei and Luna kept him frozen each time the ice melted a bit. Good thing the old city has a cool temperature to keep the monster frozen in minutes. But the ice truck will keep him imprisoned until it reaches its destination.
After the ice truck took off and flew toward the giant open vent over the city, Commissioner Fiona approached Rei and Luna. The catgirls sat on a bench, wearing towels around their shivering bodies. While trapped inside the garage with Muck, their freeze ammunition nearly turned the repair shop into a freezer. Luckily, they didn't catch a cold.
"Congratulations on catching the creature," said Fiona. "I contacted the sewer cleaning committee to let them know their workers are now safe. I will transfer your reward in one hour."
Rei looked up at Fiona, cuddling in her towel. "Where are they taking Muck?"
Fiona crossed her arms. "We are transferring him to Hector Corp. They built an advanced prison to keep him locked up for good."
Luna glared at the commissioner. "Doesn't Hector Corp specialize in making bio weapons for any buyer?"
"Yes, but they paid my department a great price."
"Are you f**king me! We don't know what they will do to Muck! They might make more monsters, who will unleash hell in this city!"
Fiona frowned. "I know the consequences, but they guaranteed that Muck would not escape from their containment. There is no other suitable prison to hold him.”
Luna rose and dropped her towel. “And what if those sick greedy bastards release him into the city?”
“Then you can stop him for a bigger reward.” Fiona sighed. “I’m sorry, but the corporations here have a higher authority than me. All we can do is hope Hector Corp will not make the same mistake as the oil company.”

Luna pointed her claw at Fiona. “You better pray so.”
Fiona nodded and walked away.
Before Luna sat down, Rally approached Rei.
“Hi….. Is this the right time?” The german shepherd man asked in a calm tone.
Luna sent him a devilish glare. "Hell no. You better leave with your tail between your legs, or-"
"Gyeong!" Rei interrupted, standing up. "We can talk now!"
Luna widened her eyes at her partner. "Excuse?"
Rei glared at Luna. "If you don't want to listen to us, you can leave."
Luna snorted and marched off. "Your weird-ass choice."
After Rei’s partner left, Rally sat down next to Rei. "Listen….. I'm sorry for not believing you. I….. Am the type of guy who relies heavily on evidence. But I never meant to hurt you."
Rei smiled. "All is forgiven." She gazed at the ground. "I almost thought I was going crazy. But the nightmare was real. Thank haneunim, it is over."
"Yeah….." Rally pursed his lips. "I was actually wondering….. Would you like to go on another date with me? Since our previous meet-up didn't go well?"
"Sir! This time a different place?"
Rally grinned. "I got a good idea. Let me check my calendar, and I will give you a call."
"Dan!"
Rally clicked his tongue and left the bench.
Luna returned with her arms crossed. "Weirdo."
Rei stuck her tongue out at her partner. She needed to have fun after the horror she went through. Hopefully, her second date with Rally will not be worse.

Simon Hector placed his white lab coat on before stepping through the airlock doorway. After the cold air breezed around him, the other doorway opened for him.
Inside the large metal room, his scientists sat at their computers, typing away on the keyboards like machines. Toward the center behind them stood a tall icicle statue, resting on a square platform.
The CEO of Hector Corps could barely see the black goo inside the crystal ice structure. With the cold temperature high inside the lab, the creature shouldn’t have the chance to break loose.
He approached one of his scientists, staring at his monitor. “Is it alive?”
“Yes, sir,” the human scientist answered. “The ice preserved it well."
Simon smiled at the bizarre ice sculpture. “Excellent. Move this thing into the containment. I want it dissected and fully analyzed so we can replicate it. This thing will make a ton of money for my corporation. Heeheehee!”

Welcome to the Upward Bound System, V.3
They say third times the charm. With every iteration we improve. When the System came to Earth, it changed everything. It is a grand thing used by gods and men alike. What had once been fantasy was now a reality. People believed and so that belief gave ideas the strength to manifest. "Welcome Founder of the SCP Foundation" It stirred the gods from their deathly slumbers. Stirred by an almost mechanical voice promising them new life, and followers as countless as the stars. All it asked of them was for their help. Help with what though? The old gods, the forgotten gods, and the new gods drew breath, and then made their voices heard. On a day like any other Dante was home from college watching the Presidential inauguration with his parents. Little did they know that this day would turn out to be anything but ordinary. That this was the day everything changed. Dante is not your typical MC. While he has a troubled past, he looks forward to the future. Follow Dante, his parents, and the new friends he meets along the way as they traverse this new system world. However, before they can explore this new world they must complete, the Tutorial. (Please note: This tutorial will be part of the story. Rather than a skim of the information, you will get to experience it in depth. So the tutorial will last a good while.) A much slower style of LitRpg than what you would normally find. Follow Dante and his party as they find their world taken over by the system. Welcome people of Earth to the Upward Bound System!... With the system's arrival so too does great danger come... The tools of your survival shall be granted upon you by the system... Please note, I don't own the art. Please enjoy the story, and if you don't please leave a comment and I will try to improve the story for you.
