《The Devil is a Stoner》Chapter 2: Anyone got a lighter?

Should I knock on the front door?
Cole really wanted to smoke some of the cannabis grown outside the mansion. He was going to befriend the owner of the house, ask him for directions and come back to buy some weed later. The problem was that it didn't seem like anyone was home.
There was no car parked anywhere and no lights were on. In fact, there wasn't even a driveway. The whole place was surrounded by trees, and the only road connected to the mansion was the dirt road Cole had just come from. The road was a dead-end, so it would be pointless to bring a car here.
From the moment Cole woke up, something had been strange. He couldn't see or hear any animals or even insects when he was in the middle of a forest. You'd assume the place was filled with all kinds of life. Cole didn't even have a single mosquito biting him when usually he would get surrounded by them in a place like this. It seemed like the whole forest and the mansion had been abandoned.
This doesn't make any fucking sense.
Why does the mansion look brand new, like it had just been built when there are no signs of anyone being here? Even the garden is well maintained.
Everything was odd. Cole's brain was struggling to make sense of anything that's happening.
Usually, in these kinds of situations, I just smoke a joint and stop thinking...
"Fuck it. We're stealing some weed, no one will notice."
No one in their right mind would think about smoking weed in this situation. You are in the middle of the forest with a strange mansion, signs you don't understand and your friend is missing. For most people survival instincts would kick in and they would do anything to survive and get back home. Cole, however, was feeling completely fine. Ever since he stood up and started walking his body has felt completely normal. He had completely lost the hangover he had and his mind wasn't clogged anymore. Even still, thinking was hard for Cole since his life had been so simple until now.
Cole didn't care about the entire forest possibly being haunted. At this moment he just wanted to smoke the weed. Cole hopped the fence into the backyard.
Wait, why don't I just take the whole fucking plant?
After jumping the fence Cole was getting greedy. Assuming the plant had 3 kilos of flower, he could sell them and have enough money to buy a car. Cole had no plans of selling them though. He was going to smoke it all.
Imagine how much weed I could smoke for the next year.
Cole's heart was racing. He had never stolen anything in his life and was just about to commit a crime. This wasn't the reason his heart was beating though. His heart was racing at the thought of having the entire plant for himself. He was excited and for a moment completely forgot to worry about the situation he was in.
Weed is illegal anyway, whoever lives here can't report a robbery to the police. There is no way I'll get caught.
It was decided. He was going to steal the entire plant. The problem was getting the plant out of the forest and getting back home with all of the flower intact.

Cole wasn't strong. He rarely worked out and spent most of his time sitting down. The only reason he ever went outside was to go to work. This is why he thought carrying a six-meter plant out of the forest would be difficult. He tried pulling the plant out of the ground and, surprisingly, he managed to pull the entire thing out of the ground, roots and all, with ease.
What the hell? Was I always this strong or do weed plants just weigh nothing?
Cole pulled another plant with his other hand. Now he was holding two of the six-meter long lengths of greenery, one for each hand. It looked completely ridiculous. He would have never been able to pull a plant out of the ground even with both hands if he was in his own body. After waking up his body had strengthened, and he was now stronger than the strongest men on earth. Cole hadn't realized this yet, since he was only focused on the massive six-meter long cannabis plants he had just obtained.
Now let's get the fuck out of here.
He threw the plants over the fence and then jumped himself. There was no need to run since no one was nearby but while stealing the plants adrenaline had kicked in. Cole started running away faster than he had ever run.
After a solid 10 minutes of running, he finally began to slow down. Normally after running this long at full speed, he would have surely collapsed, but now he was completely fine. He barely even broke a sweat. It was difficult to maneuver in the forest while bearing such an unusual load, but Cole did so with ease. It was at this point when he realized something was wrong.
How did I just run for so long and I'm not even exhausted?
Why did I wake up near this mansion anyway?
Cole was going to find the answer soon. For now, the problem was getting out of the forest. Cole cut off all the useless bits of the plants. It was pointless to fully harvest them at this point considering he didn't have the proper supplies.
Alright, let's roll a fat fucking joint and get out of here.
Cole was about to grab his rolling papers only to realize they weren't with him. He had left all of his smoking equipment in a backpack at the party.
Fuck, how am I going to smoke now?
Cole sat down under a tree and started cursing. Then a few seconds later something fell on his head.
An apple!?
No way! Did I just sit under an apple tree? I'll just smoke out of a fucking apple.
Cole grabbed a stick and pushed it through the middle of the apple.
This brings back so many memories.
Next, he pulled out the stem and using a smaller stick he made a hole connecting the top of the apple and the hole he made earlier. The top of the apple where the stem used to be worked great as a small bowl.
Perfect!
People think smoking out of apples is disgusting but honestly, apples aren't that bad. I would happily smoke out of an apple any day.
He filled the bowl with weed and reached out to his pockets to grab a lighter only to find it missing.

God fucking dammit. Where is my lighter?
There was no way to smoke anything without fire. Cole was going to have to make a fire himself or give up. Making a fire by himself was nearly impossible because of his stupidity and lack of knowledge.
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK SHIT!
He tried creating a fire by rubbing 2 sticks together without success.
I guess there is no choice. I'll have to walk home and go buy a new lighter.
Cole started walking in the opposite direction of the mansion. He was going to find a busy road, stash the weed somewhere safe, get a lift home and drive back the next day on his own car to retrieve the stash. There was no way he was going to go into a stranger's car with well over a kilo of cannabis on him.
It had been just over 3 days of walking. Cole had to sleep under a tree and had only eaten apples. The dicks drawn on his body using a permanent marker had finally disappeared.
Where the actual fuck am I?
I must've been walking for over a week already. What the hell!
He was about to lose hope until he saw something. It was the end of the forest.
Fucking finally. I've been stuck inside the forest for way too long.
Cole finally got out of the forest, but what he saw wasn't a road. He could see a giant wall about 500 meters away. Between the walls and the forest were plains filled with grass.
The wall looked like it was made of stone and was well over 20 meters long. He could also see a gate with people lined up to go inside.
Yes, finally some people. Now I can ask them where the fuck I am.
It took him a bit to realize what was actually in front of him. He could somewhat understand a mansion being in the middle of a forest, but a castle-like building with people lined up to go inside no longer existed anymore. He came to the conclusion that it was a museum. He had once visited an old castle with his family when he was younger to admire history. He thought that was what was going on in there.
He stashed the plants under a tree and got closer. What he saw was people wearing medieval clothing lined up. Next to the gates, there were two people in what looked like silver armor letting people in.
Well, this is odd... Anyways, I have to ask them where we are.
Cole walked behind the last person in line. It was a woman who looked to be around 30. She was wearing a cheap-looking rag.
"Excuse me..."
The woman turned around after hearing Cole speak. Immediately after seeing Cole's face, she screamed.
"DEMON!!!"
After screaming, she started running and everyone on line panicked. They all looked at Cole while running and screaming. The only people who didn't run away were the people in armor guarding the gate. Instead, they drew their sword looking like they had just shat themselves.
"What is a demon doing here in Wingston?"
The guard spoke in a scared voice. Both of them were scared shitless and had no idea what a demon was doing in their city. Wingston was a small city that had been in peace for over 100 years.
Cole looked behind him to see where the demon was and was very confused. He couldn't see any demons and didn't know why the people ran away. He started walking towards the guards so he could ask them where he was.
"STOP RIGHT THERE DEMON!"
Demon? What are they talking about?
Cole was sure they were talking to him but he was very puzzled.
"I'm just here to ask for directions I'm not a demon."
"NONSENSE! HOW COULD A HUMAN HAVE HORNS? LEAVE NOW!"
The guards had never been so scared in their life. A demon was in front of them asking for directions telling them he wasn't a demon. Both of them had a family and didn't want to die. They were hoping that the demon would just leave.
"What horns? I just need a fire to light up my bowl."
The guards didn't make sense of what Cole had just said and had no intention of talking it out with him. The only word they understood was "fire".
"WHAT? THE DEMON WANTS TO LIGHT THE CITY ON FIRE!"
The guard was scared for his life but he still valued the city as more important. He was going to protect it from the demon at all costs.
"GO INFORM THE KING AND SEND REINFORCEMENTS! I WILL BUY AS MUCH TIME AS I CAN!"
One of the guards lunged at Cole with his sword and missed. The other guard retreated. Cole wasn't about to try to convince the guards anymore. Getting stabbed with a sword for a lighter just wasn't worth it. Cole ran away back into the forest where he came from.
Fucking assholes why do they think I'm a demon. I don't have horns what the hell.
Cole was shocked that he almost got killed with a sword and called a demon. After almost getting killed, he realized the people in line weren't just trying to visit a museum.
For fuck's sake! I just wanted to smoke some weed why are people swinging swords at me?
He retrieved his stash and started walking away from the city. After a while, he found a pond and was about to go wash his face. That's when he saw his reflection in the water. Cole couldn't believe what he saw. He closed his eyes and splashed water on his face. Opening them again, he hoped what he saw wasn't real. Unfortunately for Cole, it was real. There were two short red horns sticking out from his forehead. Cole was in shock. He couldn't believe it. He touched his head and sure enough, he felt 2 horns sticking out.
After being in shock for a minute, he came to a conclusion.
It looks like I died and was reborn in hell...
Cole thought he had died. He thought after passing out the others had killed him. His mind was a mess. That was until he heard a voice and regained composure.
"Calm down human! Why are you scared of those maggots?"
The voice came from the 8th Demon King Asmodeus.
