The Ice cream was ready, the soup was done and the chickens were successfully fried, it may not be much but each was great foods.
I placed the foods on the table and left the ice cream in the fridge as a dessert and as a surprise. I knocked on our room and notified Alissa and Brunhilde about our lunch, Alissa replied and returned to the living room and sat on the sofa, waiting for the two women. Cynthia sat in front of me and patiently waited
A few minutes later, Alissa came in along with Brunhilde who was wearing a yellow sundress whos skirt reached up to her knees, she was blushing and was struggling hard to hide her body.
"You look good in it" I complimented her not only because it looks good but also to boost her confidence.
Brunhilde only hid behind Alissa, it seems it had the opposite effect.
"Let's eat~" Alissa held Brunhilde and walked towards the table
Brunhilde sat beside Cynthia while Alissa sat beside me, I took off my helm and revealed my face to Brunhilde, she's staying with us so there's no point in hiding it, also, I trust her enough
"Y-Y-You look so much younger than I thought!" Brunhilde pointed at me
I can only stare at her and chuckle
"Seriously, how old did you think I was?" I asked
"At least about 30..." She meekly replied
"That's too old" Did I really seem that old to her?!
"Haha, jokes aside, I'm hungry, let's eat!" Alissa urged everyone to eat
Brunhilde was curious about the fried chicken I cooked so Cynthia took a drumstick and placed it on her plate
"It's really good, also Zeno cooked that" Cynthia smiled
"Really?" Brunhilde eyed the drumstick before stabbing it with her fork and taking a bite off it
She looked gleeful as she savored the food, she couldn't wait and took another bite
"Take it slow and eat it with rice" I advised her
She realized how ungraceful she looked and was embarrassed, we continued eating until everyone had their fill, the pot of soup was empty and so was the rice cooker and the plate of fried chicken. Everyone had a satisfied smile on their face

"Dessert time" I stood up and headed for the fridge
"Oh, I wonder what kind of dessert it is" Brunhilde was curious
I took out a medium-sized transparent Tupperware filled with mango flavored ice cream, I took four bowls and placed them all on the table. Alissa was surprised, she looked at me before looking at the ice-cream
"It's mango" I chuckled
"My favorite!" Alissa smiled before opening the Tupperware and
taking a scoop
She placed scooped the ice cream and placed it in everyone's bowl, Cynthia and Brunhilde has never tasted ice cream before so they were a bit reluctant
"It's good, try it" Alissa encouraged the two
They both took their spoons and ate, soon after, they started eating faster and faster
"What's this? it's cold and soft yet very delicious" Brunhilde asked
"It's called ice cream"
"Ice cream... will you make these in the future, are they hard to create?" Cynthia asked
"I can make one if you ask me but make sure that you'll tell me your favorite fruit"
"Ok!" They both nodded
Alissa was done with her portion and started eating some of mine
"Hey, no fair" Alissa and I had a small sword fight involving our spoons
In the end, I only got a small bite before giving the rest to Alissa who gave me the puppy eyes stare
We were full and happy, I hate to do this but it has to be done
"Now that we're full, I'd like to discuss something, my plan to get the Kingdom's support is a bust but Cynthia suggested that we take back her old Kingdom, Arcadia" I announced
"Ohh, we're staging a coup!" Alissa was excited
"I thought the princess of Arcadia was sold as a se- *cough* war prisoner" Brunhilde corrected herself
"My maid, pretended to be me, also, not a lot of people has seen my face, so fooling them was easy" Cynthia replied
"Cynthia suggested that if ever she retakes the throne, she will lend us her utmost support, I'm in, how about you guys" I asked
"Of course I'm in" Alissa smiled

"I have decided to follow you so naturally I'm on board" Brunhilde also nodded
"Okay, now, for a plan" I asked
"What plan?" Alissa looked at me
"A plan" I replied
"We don't need a plan, I know you want to go and assassinate whoever's ruling that kingdom now but what impact will it make? people will just start to doubt the next one to ascend the throne so I suggest that we declare war in front of their doorsteps" Alissa pointed out
"True" Brunhilde nodded
"As for power, heh, they've got nothing on you" Alissa looked at me with a captivating smile
"*sigh* Brunhilde, will the adventurer guilds try to help the Kingdom?" I asked
"No, they will only help if they will receive a reward" She replied
"I see, we'll go with Alissa's plan, strike them and strike them hard, after that, we will retake the castle and take down any connections with the other Kingdom" I stated
Everyone nodded,
'All Guardians report!' I called on all the Guardians
All of the Guardians entered the room and saluted me
"We are going to attack the castle, Guardian 1, 2, and 3, you guys are with me, 4 and 5 will protect Cynthia"
"SIR YES SIR!" All the guardians replied in unison
"Guardian 2, report the status of Warbot Behemoth" I asked
"Sir, Behemoth has been successfully repaired, although lacking in projectile weapons, it can be outfitted with an outdated weapon such as a large sword"
"Good, but do we have weapons for it?" I asked
"Sir, Head tech developer Alissa created one not long ago from melting beams taken from Mirigai, sir"
"Really?" I looked at Alissa
"I was in the mood" She smiled
"Thanks, this will be a huge help" I thanked that smart redhead
"Also, please leave your Desert Eagle" Alissa requested
"I left it in the armory, I'll bring it to you later but what are you going to do with it?" I asked
"Disassemble it, piece by piece and make a mold out of every part, I'll try to reproduce them since we've got specially made metals taken from Mirigai's body, the metal of this country cannot withstand the energy blast that the gun releases"
"I see"
"Well then dismissed, we'll all see each other here in 2 hours, Cynthia, please come with me and tell me the location of your Kingdom" I requested
Everyone left, Brunhilde left for the work out station while Alissa returned to her research lab, as for the Guardians, they all returned to their respective post
"My Kingdom, Arcadia, is located south-east of the Kingdom, its walls reach up to 50 meters high, all created with stone and reinforced with magic. The main castle is located in the center of the city, it is protected by six towers that reach up to 70 meters high, the towers form a hexagon with the Royal Castle in the middle, each tower is protected by a Royal Mage whos levels usually reach up 60" Cynthia explained
"How about the internal structure? do you still know it?" I asked
"Yes, I will lead you to the throne room, as for the escape tunnels, it was all destroyed when I fled, I'm pretty sure that they've thought of constructing another set of escape routes but with my uncle's greed, I bet that he'd rather spend the money on something else"
"I see, thanks, please go and take a rest" I urged her
Cynthia nodded and left, according to Alissa, she and Brunhilde now share the same room
'Guardians, here's what we're going to do, The mini-Warden will drop us off in front of the castle, I will lead the charge as Cynthia walks behind me, render your enemies unconscious try not to kill as much as possible' I instructed all of the Guardians through the radio
'Sir yes sir!' they all replied
"Alright, Guardian 3, head 70 kilometers south-east, we have a Kingdom to reclaim" I announced
"Time of arrival, 90 minutes" The mini-Warden took off

Human][Class: ... ... ...] [Hero] [Welcome to the System] What is a village-born Hero to do, but answer his calling? Current schedule: No chapters for the next few months. I'm still writing the entirety of Volume 2. WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter

The Runners of Westal
Anya Vorian wasn't picky. She'd take any apprenticeship that came her way. She, Lori and Andrew had prepared all winter for the interviews, but when only one offer came with her name on it, she suddenly wasn't so sure that she could do it. It was hard work, for one thing. It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung. In short, runners were odd folk. Maybe it was time to get fast. - A first-person tale inspired by long distance running.

Sanguine
The Coles are probably the definition of a small dysfunctional family, even if they weren’t the worst in existence; they would probably be lauded as an example of the term. The Coles were a small family though. The father, Oliver Cole, was an asshole ex-football jock who bounced around in small paying jobs after wasting most of his life drinking, drugging and whoring. The daughter, Stacy Cole, was smart, but had many issues including anger, trouble with authority, and occasional suicidal thoughts, and was kicked out of many a school for disruptive behaviour. The son, Mike Cole, was innocent, and tried his best to be kind to anyone and everyone, however his own speech impediment, and slow nature only aided people to bully and belittle him, including his own father. The Coles were indeed a dysfunctional family. At least they were, until they got to the small town near the border between the United States and Canada, Sanguine. Welcome to Sanguine. You will stay. With the exception of the first chapter, each chapter only follows one character. The first chapter is the only chapter in which I will include 'Sides' where it follows a different character. This is a short Lovecraftian story, it won't go above seventeen chapters. Note: the book cover is my first attempt, it might not even remain like it is, I was just tired of seeing the standard 'no cover' thing on it.

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
