Chapter 0042
Leviene skip to the fountain in front of the East gate, eager to report her accomplishment to the other two. Deep down in a dark corner of her heart, she wanted to rub it into Erica’s face. She’d never do it. The ensuing torture discourage even the most stalwart humans much less an adorable Perrian Let like herself.
Sylphie and Erica was already there.
“Syllphhiiieee! I did the quest and got a good ability out of it.” Leviene was like a child getting straight A’s on her report card and is eager to show it to her parents. Sylphie happen to take on the authoritarian role since she was the guild leader of Slaughter.
Erica was all but ignored as Leviene flew into Sylphie’s embrace.
“What a baby.”
“Ha! I bet you didn’t get anything good judging from your tone.” Leviene was trying to rub it in. She knows there will be consequences but she doesn’t get the chance often since she'd run away from Erica and her vicious tongue whenever she gets the chance.
“I’m sure whatever your abilities is, it is crap.”
“Ha! Ha! I got an awesome ability. You’re just jealous.”
“Jealousy is a petty emotion reserved for the weak at heart and the have nots. You debt ridden beggar will know the emotion well, whereas I make 6 figures a year. I can afford to go wherever I want, do whatever I feel like it and buy anything that catches my fancy without worrying about maxing out my credit card.”
Hmph, trying to brag in front of the master of contract negotiation! Ha! Back at you youngster.
“I’ll have you know Ms. Snob, I was the 5th richest person on our server in Dark Drake Kingdom. Since Arashia mimics a virtual reality game, I am confident I can be among the top 10 richest person! Can you say that back on Earth? 6 figures is dilly squat compared to 7 or 8 figures.” Leviene fought back.
No way was she going to let the snobby cousin of her walk all over her in her own element.
“If we’re talking about virtual currency, how do you know I can’t out earn you? I built my own company from the ground up. I did it once. I can do it again. What about you? You’re walking the beaten path of a worker ant.”

“Overconfidence get you-”
“Ahem”
“- nothing.”
“If I may interrupt this sicilliating conversation, I’d like to point out I was #1 in wealth in Dark Drake Kingdom and I although I might not be on Forbes top 100 richest person, I am sure I’d be on the top 1000’s. Top 1000’s isn’t much, but compared to you two, I might as well be at the top of the Himalayas mountains and you guys are not even at the foot of the mountain, you are at the south pole, so out of my wealth range you two are.”
Erica and Leviene snapped their mouth shut, unable to refute Sylphie’s claim. Whether in the real world or a virtual one, they both lost to Sylphie.
At times like these did the duo realized Sylphie is rich. Really really rich. Sylphie isn’t one to flaunt her wealth, unlike a certain aunt and uncle Leviene knows of, coming into suburban America in super stretch limo.
Most of the time, Sylphie is the typical upper middle class girl, Leviene forgot she owns a mansion. 6 mansion to be precise.
“I still got a better skill from the quest.” Leviene broke the impasse.
“Why don’t you tell us about the amazing skill you learned?” Sylphie asked. After the haughty heirness disc she hand out earlier, she’d figured she had to soothe some ruffle feathers.
After a smug glance thrown towards Erica, Leviene began her explanation about her skills, “My ability is called the Mysterious Eye of Untold Secrets. It allows me to see the hidden things for 1 minute with a 5 hour cooldown. It also allows me to peek at hidden properties of an item. Cool huh?”
“So, basically you conned some NPC to give you this ability because you can’t find an exit even if it’s the only door in the room.”
Leviene flinch at Erica’s words. “How well does she know me to guess the situation,” cried a childlike voice in the deepest part of Leviene’s mind.
“Seems like I hit the nail in the head.” Erica smirked, showing of her amazing deduction skills.
“What skill did you get?”

“Analytical Eye of Untold Secrets, last 1 minute with a 5 hour cooldown. It allows me to analyze the mechanics or properties of a spell or materials.” Unlike Leviene’s proud mannerism, Erica was more subdue in her narration.
It’s not that she isn’t proud of her ability; it is her lack of knowledge.
Because she never played an MMO, RPG MMO or VRMMO or whatever else abbreviated, Erica doesn’t know how to use the spell. The Analytical Eye of Untold Secrets let her analyze spell but if she doesn't know how to use the spell in the first place, then the spell is worthless.
“Interesting. All eye spells. My ability is called the Hidden Eye of Untold Secrets. 1 minute duration, 5 hour cooldown. So far, it allows me to see if someone is lying or not.”
Erica know Sylphie isn’t telling them everything about her ability.
Leviene also know Sylphie is holding back on them. Whatever Sylphie is hiding, she’ll tell them when she feels like it. It isn’t her position to pry.
Trying to decipher Sylphie’s secret when she want it hidden takes more brain cells than what Leviene has. She’d wait until they join up with Kaleseze or Wraith to wrangle the truth out of her.
Blinders on!
“Ooooohhhh. Eye power. I know why I got mine. Why did you get yours?”
The other two ignored Leviene’s question. If she didn’t understand then no amount of explaining will make her understand.
The eye abilities they got supplement the player where they are the weakest. Leviene’s sense of direction is legendary. No need to comment.
Erica’s problem is her lack of understanding of the world she’s in. The Analytical Eye of Untold Secrets explains the mechanic behind Arashia. Not only will the Analytical Eye of Untold Secrets help her adjust to to Arashia, it can also allow her to dig deeper into the mystery of Arasha.
If Erica master this ability, then she might be the one to find a way home.
Sylphie’s power did more than being a lie detector, but that is all she is willing to say about it.
Erica wanted to pry. She wants to know how Sylphie thinks, what makes her tick, why does she do the things she does. If Erica can analyze Sylphie then maybe she get the upper hand for once in her life.
Analytica Eye of Untold Mysteries activate. Erica sees an image, like a movie on fast forward when she stares at Sylphie, then two "Unable to analyze".
Sylphie’s thought process is the movie she saw. Sylphie thoughts are varieds but quick, as if she process the thought that comes into her head immediately then moves on to the next problem she has to tackle. It’s like watching a supercomputer analyzing the situation. You get the result but the supercomputer is too fast for anyone to sense the process.
As for the "Unable t analyze", Erica figured out that Sylphie doesn’t know what drives her. That is common. It’s like asking a child why he like to eat bread. He doesn’t know why he like to eat bread. He just does.
“Enough with the chit chat. Do you want to farm or go back to the inn and rest?”
“Money!” Leviene started to head out, but she was rudely grabbed.
“Provision first, or do you want to go hungry?”
“Food!”
“Grunting one word answers, what are you, a caveman? Wait. That’s too sexist. Neanderthal?”
“Didn’t realize you were so pc since you have verbal diarrhea all the time.”
“When one negotiate multi-million dollars deals, one must be aware of what to say and what not to say. One should be aware of the ramification of one’s words and actions. A single mistake can break one’s career. Dixie Chicks, Catherine Heigel, Megan Fox to name a few.”
“Enough! Let’s just get going.”
With Sylphie rushing her relatives around, they finally got out of the capital of the Aerialis.

One billion people from one hundred thousand universes have been dropped onto a singular planet five times larger than Earth. In the corner of their eye were three numbers: 1,000,000,000. 15. 10. Nobody could figure out what it meant until fifteen years after the initial transportation, as out of the blue, a message repeated itself in their minds for twenty-four hours. “Only ten can return. The rest will die. There is no time limit,” Following the global message, genocides ran rampant, with established friendships broken, families ripped apart, blood alliances betrayed, and leaders felled in seconds. How? [The Evgnomon] The Beholden; hidden throughout the realm were artefacts: weapons, information, tools from beings and societies of a higher plane. It was up to the humans to scour the land and take them by hook or by crook if they ever wished to go back. Whisked into this world as a mere babe, I suppose it was lucky I didn’t die in the chaos. But as I stare into the rotten, tattered pages of the accursed book laid upon the pedestal in front of me; and the unnerving gaze of our professor trained onto the back of my head silently pressuring me to become the avatar of grotesques unspeakable and undecipherable to the human mind. O, how I wish I did...
