“Is that all?” The bland voice coupled with an unconcerned air infuriated the miniature Perrian Let.

“Are you making fun of me? You are aren’t you? You’re just like the rest of them, alway laughing behind my back.” The woes of teenagedom has finally hit poor Leviene. When Leviene was a teenager, she was too busy trying to think of a way to save up for college to concern herself with teenage drama.

For that matter, she avoid drama altogether. She didn’t want to rouse a mob for trifles. Six times is enough to last a lifetime.

But now that she is living the drama she tried to painstakingly avoid, she doesn’t know how to handle her own feelings.

Leviene has always been careful limiting her emotions to either joy or childish frustration. Rarely do she express true hatred. She bottles the negative emotions inside herself.

It isn’t that she doesn’t want to express her sadness/rage/hatred/negative emotions. She can’t without rousing all the protective instinct of her family. The comment about rousing is mob is based on fact. Her mother never mention grandmother was part of the Chinese mafia and uncle is the head of said mafia. For that matter, grandpa is a mercenary, grandma had an affair that resulted in aunt Janet, cousin Yang, You, Yu and Yin are also gangsters.

Oh wait. Aunt Janet being the result of an affair was mentioned.

Still, her side of the family, all bad. No wonder she doesn’t want to associate with them.

Like the French side of her family, Laurie is the darling of the Chinese American side.

One time, she cried in front of them because she was bullied on the way home. This wasn’t her usual baby throwing a tantrum cry. It was a cry cry. She said she wanted to get revenge. The Y’s and Grandpa G took her to the local bad area hang out to point them out, which she innocently did, not knowing they would be sent to the hospital in pieces.

Laurie was traumatized for a whole day! The little girl was prepared to go to jail or face punishment or something bad happening to her. She waited a week for the police to pull up to her door and arrest her.

It didn’t happen.

Laurie learned about the darker side of life that week and her mother sent the Y’s packing and scold Grandpa G for a long time. Daddy was kept in the dark the whole time.

She asked her Grandpa G what’s going on and all he said was “No witness, no charges.”

After that incident, Laurie rarely express her hatred. Laurie went through her teenage years swinging from childish brat to super studious student.

Now that she is in another world with her sane relatives, Leviene tight grasp on her emotions loosen. The short Perrian Let vented her frustration.

“I am not making fun of you. I have a solution to your problems so it isn’t as insurmountable as you make it out to be.”

“You have a solution to my poor sense of direction?” Leviene asked in a cute manner, all big eyes, wide smile and an enthusiastic demeanor. The abrupt change in personality didn’t bother Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar.

“The solution to your poor sense of direction is already built into the interface of Arashia. It’s called a compass and a map. Learn how to use it.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar admonish the eager chick. “What I have is a solution to your sight.”

If Leviene chose the Landian race, her ear and tails would have flopped down at the scolding then immediately perked up at the end. Too bad she looks like a little chick now. She’d make a great doggy companion.

“What? What? What?”

Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar shook her head in despair. This child really! She makes everyone worry about her so.

“The spell is called the Mysterious Eye of Untold Secrets. It allow you to see the unseen within a specific area. It might do you any good considering your condition, however, the spell has a unique feature, the specific area doesn’t have to be in your field of vision. Look at the map while using this ability and you can see the location of all the hidden items in the area.”

“Oh oh oh, what about getting there?” Leviene can use the compass and map feature of Arashia. She is playing dumb to get more abilities.

“Map and compass.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar replied sardonically. Leviene has an expressive face. Every emotion is shown on her face. Anyone with eyes can see what she’s thinking. Even a stranger like Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar can read Leviene’s intent.

“Oh alright.” Leviene is a greedy person but she knows when to quit when she’s ahead. “Can I learn the spell?”

Leviene poked at the yes answer like a hen pecking at chicken. She immediately open her spell book to see the new spell.

Mysterious Eye of Untold Secrets - Allows the caster to see all the hidden secret within a specified area.

Cool down: 5 hours.

Cost: 1 mana

Leviene is like a child with a new toy. She cast the spells and begin to look around, trying to find anything in the alley that might be considered a secret. After finding nothing, she opened the map to look for the Amulet of Endless Love.

After a minute, Leviene turned towards Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar with sad eyes. Leviene hunched her shoulders as if she was ashamed while her once beautiful smiled turned into a frown. “I’m sorry, I haven’t find your amulet even with the spell you gave me.”

“Well of course.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar said aggravatedly, “You haven’t accepted the quest yet! How are you supposed to look for the Amulet of Endless Love when there is no objective for you to look for. Quest objectives will show IF you accept the quest and after you use the spell.”

“Oh, umm, are you willing to wait here for five hours for the spell to reset.”

“NO!”

Leviene inch slowly back. The short Perrian Let has seen the expression on Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar face many times before. All her relatives show the I’m-going-to-kill-you expression at one point in their lives. She usually sees it seconds before said relative lungs across to try and choke her.

Her other relatives will leap in to prevent death or brain damage, but not the actual choking in itself.

Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar reigned in her anger at Leviene’s scared expression. No matter what, she is an Honored Lady. She will control herself.

“Here are 3 [Reset Potion]. The potions allow you to reset all of your cool down.” Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar said through gritted teeth.

“Thank you.” Leviene took the potion. She was about to use it when Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar smacked her in the back of the head so hard she fell to the floor.

Leviene thank god this was a game. She wasn’t born yesterday. She watch enough movies to know that attack would have knocked her teeth out.

The short Perrian Let looked at Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar with a pathetic expression. Those midnight blue eyes Leviene took time to painstaking customized watered, making her adorable face take on an pititable expression as if she was suffering the greatest tortured created by man.

“Accept the quest first!”

“Oh right.” Leviene immediately perked up and accepted the quest dialogue box in the corner of her vision, drank the potion and activate the Mysterious Eye of Untold Secrets.

“Oooohhhh, look at all the hidden treasure. [Blood Ring of the Damn], [Crimson Daggerspine], [Ruby Eyes of Tors], [Amulet of Endless Love]. Ah ha. So it is there. I’ll be back in a jiffy.” The quick Perrian Let immediately flew to the quest objective with an equally frustrated Honored Lady Valdis of Tainsoar staring at her back.
