'I just killed a mosquito and earned experience points?'
Is this real?
Well, it is surprising but the thing that surprises the most is the "age bonus".
What is this "age bonus"? It's obvious it must be a bonus due to the age but it's 10000 times the original experience points the mosquito should have given!
'Damn.' thought Karl.
Yes.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
This (maybe) was the perfect opportunity for Karl to become a superduper baby because no other babies have enough consciousness and intelligence to use this fabulous thing called "age bonus". And from what it looks like, the "age bonus" decreases exponentially as you get older since the other kids in orphanage, nor Emmanuella the nun looked to be a kind of superhuman.
(Because if it was that easy to earn EXP or the age bonus was not decreasing exponentially, we don't see much other reasons of why the other people around Karl was not tremendously strong.)
Karl, thanks for being a reincarnated person, has (probably) found a way to raise his probability to survive in this medieval fantasy-ish world.
'Let's see if I can kill any other insects.'
Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizoowiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzz~
'Speak of the devil and here comes another mosquito.'
But then this mosquito was more annoying and "smarter".
Wush
Wush
No matter how he tried to smash the mosquito, it was way too fast for the fragile and slow baby Karl was. And the dark didn't help him much although the room was lit with the moonlight

So instead of just waving his arms like an idiot, Karl decided to use his adult intelligence.
Karl stopped moving, stretched his left arm and waited like a hunter waiting for his prey.
The stupid mosquito didn't take long to fly towards Karl's arm, to land on it, take the needle out and try to bite Karl.
'I've got you in my sight!'
Splaf!
Eliminated MOSQUITO: 0.0001 xp + 1 xp (age bonus) + 1 credit
'Wow, I just earned a credit as well.'
He didn't know what to do with the credit yet as he couldn't do anything more with the game system window than just watch his stats as for now.
'Let's see what I can do with this credit thing before.'
'Shop!'
'Credit!'
'Open!'
'Open the shop!'
'Sesame!'
'Shop, please?'
Nothing opened, nothing happened.
He couldn't do anything with the game window, nor could he call a shop window like in other fantasy novels.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As there was nothing Karl could do, he just decided to continue his mosquito hunting. And mosquitos didn't lack at all.
So Karl spent a few more dozen of minutes to hunt mosquitos before he finally reached level 1.
'Oh, great. I earned myself 2 stat points so now I (obviously) can raise my stats! But I have no idea how this will have effects on me.'
However, when you don't try, nothing will happen. So Karl decided to invest his 2 stat points, 1 in AGI and 1 in VIT.
'I don't feel like something changed much in me.'

Karl decided to hunt more mosquitos to raise his level but after catching 3 more, the SP was completely depleted.
Yawn
'As soon as I get the SP depleted, I feel sleepy...'
Well, what could he do with his baby body?
Nothing, right?
So he fell asleep.
Good night, Karl.

Overseer (Dwarf Fortress x Worm)
A young woman gains the power to make elements of a saved game real. She must then survive the assault of a coordinated attack by some of the deadliest parahumans on the planet - he same group of murderhobos that caused her the mental trauma that resulted in her gaining her powers to begin with. This is a crossover fiction between the most complicated game ever created, 'Dwarf Fortress' by Toady One, and an extensive grimdark superpower genre serial fiction called 'Worm' by Wildbow. It is violent and there are some references to sex in it, so it's probably not fit for young children to read, and persons not familiar with Dwarf Fortress or Worm might be confused by some elements, but I feel confident that it stands reasonably well on it's own. This crossover is complete. I posted it here in it's entirety all at once. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
