Mithad, The Boastful Story Time

This event occurred 300 years ago. That was nearly a century before I met your lovely mother. Everything was normal back then, with no major disruptions in the world. There were still wars, but they were always between humans and not between mythical creatures like us. Humans went about their business, and we stayed out of it.

We mythical creatures shared a higher level of understanding. We didn't have fights like humans because we lived longer and had more power. Humans were filled with greed and Jealousy, making them difficult to get along with. It's too late to say whether we should have tried harder or gotten rid of them sooner.

Someone decided to mess with humans 300 years ago, or so we thought. The news quickly spread that the Demon King had besieged Brounia Kingdom and was massacring the city. We were all surprised, but not shocked. We were aware that human holy churches considered demons to be evil beings, and we suspected that demons were fed up with it.

That was the start of the great war between demons and humans. We all decided to ignore it because helping either side would have a negative impact on us. The demons were powerful, and humans couldn't seem to stop reproducing.

Surprisingly, the humans were coming out on top. It seemed impossible, but we reasoned that the demons were simply outnumbered. The Demon King came to the dragon kingdom on his knees near the middle of the war. He pleaded with us, claiming that he was losing because of four "heroes," and that his own people were turning against him. And that he wasn't the one who started the war in the first place.

We were obviously concerned because no king should bow down like that. Our king was enraged at the demons for losing their territory. He actually yelled at him, telling him that he should never bow down again and that he should wipe the race from the face of the earth. The king's words made us all laugh, but we all understood what they meant. We, as a race, must be proud of ourselves, especially as kings. We can't wave at a small loss. It actually inspired the Demon King, but it didn't last long.

The following year the Demon King was dead and we were devastated. We mythical creatures decided that we would go to the council and talk about our next step. We decided incorrectly to spare the humans but instead we made a promise. Our king with other kings and queens of the mythical race marched over to the biggest kingdom and made our stand. We promised them that we wouldn't stand by if they decided to attack us in any way or form. That we wouldn't make the same mistake and fight to the honor of each other as a united council. We've all been ecstatic as we left that warning. It was historical to stand together like that after so many years only to confront humans.

You think we'd keep them on our radars or we'd use our immense knowledge and know what they'd plan next. Until it was too late, we didn't know son we didn't know.

The Beast King came to our kingdom one day and paid us a visit. The Beast King and his subjects had a blank expression on their faces. Some of us were concerned and inquired as to why they wore such strange expressions. They claimed that their previous king had passed away and that they were in mourning. We were taken aback by how late we learned of this. Deaths of royalty, in any form, usually spread like wildfire. We let them in and went back to our normal routine.

My king was greeted by the Beast King at that time. He greeted him and then stabbed our king in the chest. The Beast King was quickly knocked away by our king, who threw him into the wall. The Beast King only said one grueling word for a split second. He screamed for help. He screamed anguishedly, and his face went blank in an instant. Then everything went completely awry.

The Beast King went on a rampage with his subject. We didn't want to hurt them because we knew they were under some sort of control. This was not their decision; it was made by someone else. But they kept killing us, and we couldn't take it any longer. On our own turf, it was a full-fledged battle. It wasn't until someone yelled that we realized the human army was outside our gate. That's when we met the four heroes who had to face the Demon King.

It was turning into a massacre, but that wasn't what shocked us. One of the heroes, who appeared to be a mage, cast spells that enslaved our people. This is exactly what the Demon King was referring to. He wasn't betrayed in any way; his subjects were kept under control. We wanted to kill the mage, but he fought us with our own people. What were we supposed to do murder our own brothers and sisters?

Our king was approached by heroes after collapsing to the ground, a motion he despised. We tried everything we could to reach him, but he was surrounded by beasts, dragons, and humans. The mage approached him and began casting a spell on him. Our king was aware of the situation and refused to allow it to continue. Our king's body was exerting tremendous pressure, and he was about to cause a mana explosion within himself. We charged at the heroes once more, hoping to hold them down by sacrificing ourselves and keeping them caught in the blast. Unfortunately, they had an item that instantly teleported them away. But it was clear that my king's sacrifice had enraged them. We desperately wanted to put a stop to it, but we knew there was no way. We had no choice but to flee or die.

We all went our separate ways because we were afraid that if we grouped together, we'd have to fight each other if we were enslaved. We discovered that not only was the dragon kingdom being enslaved, but the entire mythical race was being enslaved as well. And matched against each other to fight. That's when I met your mother, who was fleeing the Dryad kingdom to the west. She looked wilted and brittle, as if she'd been running for days. I took her in my arms and nursed her back to health. The enslaved elves and fairies attacked them, she said. She described how she fought valiantly as one of the Dryad queen's guards, only to watch her queen be defeated and enslaved by the humans. She had no choice but to flee for days.

We made the decision to flee and hide together. After a few months, we fell in love with each other. The mythical race remained hidden for another century. The heroes were still human and died of old age, according to the news. We decided it was finally time to fight back and reclaim our old lives. The heroes did, however, leave us with one final fuck you. They learned how to enslave the mythical race from the mage. He devised tools and parachments that are simple to duplicate. There were pitiful humans in the company of nobles from our races. We were powerless to resist and could only hope that the spell would be broken.

Then there were the slavers, who scurried across the land in search of us mythical beings. Dr. Marth was the name of one of these slavers we met once. He enjoyed capturing mythical beings and subjecting them to torturous experiences that left us disfigured or dead. When we first met him, he laughed at us and couldn't take his gaze away from your mother. I yelled at him and demanded to know what he wanted. He informed me that my wife was expecting a child, and he knew because he had previously studied pregnant dryads before. The enslaved fairy beside him cast a bloodline spell on you son before we could react. He said he couldn't wait for you to be born so he could kidnap you. With that spell, he'd be able to pinpoint the exact location and time of your birth. For the sake of you, we had no choice but to flee, even father.

As we ran, we came across this cave, which was home to an elder warlock who had heard the news but had shut themselves off from the rest of the world. She thought you'd be legendary after hearing our story. She made us construct a room that contained all of the necessary items for carrying a baby. We gathered materials for an incantation together. She gave her life, body and soul, to make it as powerful as it could be. Once you were born, the incantation that surrounded this shed blocked out the fairies' magic. It kept you hidden from Dr. Marth, but as you can see, it couldn't keep you hidden from the world. You don't have to be concerned because another spell surrounds the cave, but it won't last forever, and he will eventually discover our location.

But I swear that me and your mother will make you strong. That once the time comes you can truly be legendary and save us all. You are Methuselah, the Hereafter and you will never be enslaved!
