《Priestess Of The Land》Elaine Blanc

Prime minister Ra had just returned from the palace and was currently having his meal along with his main wife, Madame Ashir, and his daughter Nala. He was still thinking about Tria's entrance earlier in the day, she looked extremely radiant and had reminded him of her late mother.
Tria's mother, Elaine Blanc, was actually not from the Sun Land. About 20 years ago, she was passing through the capital and her beauty had captivated many young masters' hearts. Elaine was accompanied by her senior disciple from the same school, and they have come to take part in a famous auction going on at that time. From her arrival to the capital, Elaine was courted by many young men; however, her heart was stolen by Ra, and against her senior's advice, she had decided to stay back in the Sun Land, even if meant her cultivation stagnating to its current level. She had fallen head over heels for Ra, and even agreed to become a secondary wife, while Madame Ashir was the main wife.
Elaine's background was never revealed to anyone, however from her mannerism, everyone knew she was not a commoner. She was so graceful and enchanting, and so likeable, therefore there were no questions asked. After marrying Ra, the couple lived happily and after a few months, Elaine had become pregnant for Ra's child. She became even more pampered with his love and the two had become inseparable. However, everything changed when the child was born, the baby was renounced to be mentally ill. Ra was devastated by such news, and stopped showing up to Elaine's courtyard, and Elaine deprived of his love became depressed and in the end, died not even two weeks after giving birth to Tria.
Ra reminiscing about Elaine made him lose his appetite, he really missed those times. Back then, to win Tria’s mother’s heart, he had promised her so many things, but he ended breaking her heart. He was ashamed of himself now, but at that time he was ashamed of her. He truly did not deserve her, and because of him, she ended up dying. Over the years, his grief had turned into blame, and that blame was all thrown on Tria.

As he was thinking about the past, a servant came into the dining hall and announced the arrival of the third prince along with his princess consort, Tria.
Madame Ashir was the first one to speak.
"Why has she come?", she disliked Tria, since they were able to get her out of the estate, she never wanted to see her again.
"Mother, second sister has come along with the third prince, maybe they had completed their longing period." Nala said, she has already learned the matters of the household, so she knows the tradition.
"Have them go into the receiving hall," ordered Ra, although he should go in person to receive the prince, he did not care to
"U-um second young miss has already brought the prince towards her courtyard, she said she will go in the receiving hall when everyone has gone since she came unnoticed," the servant knew how the second miss was treated in the household so he nervous with his words
"What courtyard?" asked Ra
"The one in the back estate, Master"
"Why would she bring the prince there?" asked Madame Ashir this time, the back courtyard was basically a hut, it was not a place to bring a prince, even if it was the cripple third prince
"I heard her say that she missed her time there, and wanted to show the prince the back of the estate"
Ra was put in a really tight spot, although he did not care about the third prince, he was still a prince. If matters of the household were to spread into the court, he would lose a significant amount of face.
"I shall go to the back estate as well," he stood up and just hurried to the back estate.

The Tower Trials
"The Towers have stood for centuries. They offer riches and power in equal measure to those that are brave, strong, and lucky enough to overcome their Trials. Isaac has arrived in time for the annual Novice Trial where young men and women aged 16 through 18 are set to enter the Tower for their first time. Novice Trials are a rite of passage, and though one is not required to take it, one cannot develop their Mana System without it. However, the trials are deadly, and there are always some that go in, but never come out. Regardless of the danger, Novice Trials are required for entry into any of the four grand academies. Those that survive the trials are able to gain experience and level-up as they ascend the different floors of the Towers." The Tower Trials is my first attempt at writing. Reviews and constructive criticism are highly encouraged and appreciated!

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
