《Virtual reality: Sorp》Chapter thirty one: An arm and an eye, can I have them?

Sorp trained because he wanted to train. He found it enjoyable. It was similar to fighting, it was still lacking, but like an acquired taste, he enjoyed it more and more.
There were more things he began to enjoy. Women, physically fit women. Women that attempted to keep up with him. This was also a new sensation.
It wasn’t only Sorp discovering this type of women. Ambitious. Confident. Beautiful. Athletic. This kind of combination isn’t too rare in the camp.
With the added effect of this being a virtual world, most people have less reservation. Most at least.
At first it was just one night once in a while, but three weeks into the camp, Sorp brought at least one woman to his room every night.
His actions became increasingly brazen as well. This in line with Sorp’s character, he always acts domineering.
It would not be wrong to say that Perpetuity has a certain element of debauchery. As it is populated by wealthy people.
In a society self sufficient enough to provide food and shelter for its entire population, the wealthy are not lacking in depravity.
To many of the women, Sorp is little more than an adventure, a challenge or just plain animalistic pleasure.
What they never expect is the loss of control, once in his hands. They are flung around, as if they weigh nothing.
Their bodies contorted in all possible ways possible. Sometimes the pain of the whole ordeal outshines the pleasure. But only for a moment.
Sorp’s popularity with women is more than just an open secret, and with publicity such as this, animosity is bred.
Not only are the women wealthy and powerful, but the men as well. These are people used to getting their way. Similar to Sorp and his friends, but in a different way.
One uses wealth while the other violence. Sometimes the two might seem similar, but the difference is who is dealing out the violence.
Unlike Sorp and his friends, these people love dealing in underhanded ways and voice their dissatisfaction in veiled language.
Their methods so subtle that when they spoke in derision to or about Sorp, Sorp had no idea they were mocking him or demeaning him.
As Sorp usually kept up a smile, even alone he has a light smirk. This was provocation to those that detested him. Those that felt jealous at his popularity, strength and his large stature.
Sorp’s friends didn’t mingle well with these malicious men, these people with venomous tongues. They also didn’t understand their cryptic speech.
This is not to say they are stupid. Perhaps not wordly in this manner. As it is wisdom that is important, not intelligence.
Being born in the lower tier of society, Sorp’s and the guys minds weren’t as broad. There are too many things they haven’t seen, don’t know about and haven’t experienced.
In this way the fall far behind the wealthy. The educated. But they excel in others. Especially when all this wealth has been crippled.
In perpetuity, wealth still matters, but right now it can’t be utilized as effectively. With preparation, it can, but not spontaneously like now.
Months from now, the towering wealth of the upper class will have far more influence on Perpetuity that it does to day.
Right now, all they have is the maximum Vcoin they were allowed to bring in. This is still a sizable sum. About ten times the cost of the device.
Sorp and the guys brought in a small fortune as well. And they can still bring in more as their virtual reality businesses outside of perpetuity continues to bring in revenue.
But this the end of it. This is the ceiling of Vcoin brought from the outside world. After this the wealthy will have to employ people in the real world to enter Perpetuity.
It is only in this way that they will be able to wield their wealth as an advantage in the long term.
Until then, Sorp and the guys, should have the upperhand in any conflict. While there might be similar levels of strength, their personalities are far more vicious.
“Have you noticed something weird about those guys?”
“Ye, why do they keep complimenting us?”
“I have no idea.”
“Maybe they’re trying to kiss Sorp’s ass?”
“They’ll need bigger lips. Or bigger tits.”
“And some make up.”
This conversation was not a secretive one. This was in the large cafeteria. Hundred some people have already sat down.
This is six weeks since the guys entered the camp. More and more people catch up. Not because they are fast, but because the guys are slow.
Through luck and Dart’s knowledge, they somehow found themselves as frontrunners for a while. This clearly couldn’t last. Sorp might have done it alone, but who's to say he’d stay on this track without the guys?
The people in the cafeteria already had eyes on Sorp’s group. At least some of them did. Few admirers and a few with malicious intentions.
What Sorp did not understand, is their way of talking. But how can their gaze, their contemptuous gaze and their general ill will escape him?
These last few weeks, no months. These last few months, the guys have pushed the legality of this world. Their vicious tactics reaching new highs.
It is within their understanding that within hidden quarters, everything is allowed. Even murder.
As to who took the risk of committing murder. It happens to be Dart. His perversion appears to have a weakness in this world.
Once the victim is recognized to be in a vulnerable state, he can no longer play is tasteless games. Even the smallest of torturous tricks cause great harm.
This lowers his hours upon hours of entertainment into a couple at best. Dart found new challenge in this, coupled with frustration. But his cravings were abated.
The results were unfortunate, as he did not intend to actually kill his victim. What he did gain was ua better understanding of the laws in this world. A week passed without repercussions.
This in spite of the victim recording its experience. This video became rather notorious, but as it turns out, it isn’t the only one of its kind. There is more depravity in this world than people expected.
The victim in question did not respawn in the Second wave reinforcement camp, it spawned in the city, at a random spawning location. It will take at least two to three weeks to return to camp.
Whether they will choose to do so is a another question, this victim never saw its torturer. That fear of the unknown may be enough to deter them from even staying in Perpetuity.
It is only Dart that is perverse in this way. But every last one of the guys is perverse in their own way. Perhaps similar to each other but none like Dart.
It can be said that Pal and Ret enjoy violent control. Jarem enjoys deceptions and seduction. To fool his victims and trap them.
Due to the promiscuous nature of women he has met in Perpetuity, this perversion of his has been rather frustrating.
This is because there is no enjoyment for him to trick those that are willing to walk in the flame. There is no sense of achievement.

It is perhaps Kom that is the most dull. He can be called a omnivore. Pain, control, trickery. To him it is all a form of pleasure.
But to speak of Sorp. His perversion is in line with his animalistic intentions. There is no right and wrong. But he would not torture his victim for sexual pleasure.
This does not mean he would not play with his victim. This is also within the nature of an animal, to play with its prey. But rarely with sexual intentions.
Such acts are rare in animals and only seen in what is considered intelligent animals. This should not come as a surprise.
Not every animal can be domesticated, but it certainly is capable of learning what it is detrimental to its purposes.
In this same way, Sorp understands some things he can do, will have negative repercussions. He can choose to stay away from such acts. Whether he does is a different matter.
“Are they following us?”
“Sorp?”
“They are following us.”
What Sorp didn’t mention was he can see in their expressions. Their eyes wider, slightly sweating. They are excited with masked malicious grins.
“Wait here.”
Although Sorp is dominated by his instincts, he is still cunning. As this still within the range of intelligent animals.
“What is going on? Are they coming for us? Why?”
There is no panic in Kom’s voice. Only confusion. This is a fleeting emotion.
“How many are there?”
Pal, Kom, Dart, Jarem and Sorp had been moving towards one of the crafting facilities. They are now standing behind one such facility, waiting.
It is important to understand that these facilities are not monitored. Only the insides are, as thats where the equipment is, and it is fastened to the ground.
To the point where only heavy machinery is capable of removing it. The only concern is whether someone intentionally tries to sabotage them equipment.
“Twelve.”
“What the hell, twelve?”
Any confusion is put aside, as they all know that there doesn´t need to be any specific reason to attack someone. It can just be a way to pass the time.
They themselves have been known to go out to pick fights. As a prelude to more insidious entertainment options.
“How do we do this?”
“I’ll kill them all.”
There was nothing but excitement in Sorp’s voice. His smile so wide it makes you wonder if he is about to rip open. It is his eyes however that terrifies, as its there you can see the rage.
It’s rage be because Sorp has assumed this group of men intends to hurt is friends. If it was just him alone, he’d still act the same way, but he’d not be angry.
“You sure? I’m ready to fight whenever. Right guys?”
“No, I think Sorp is really going to go crazy, we’ll probably get in the way.”
“Just look at him. He’s about blow up. We can stand back as support.”
“Right. Support.”
“So, like usual?”
In truth, Kom knew Sorp didn’t want them to join him. He never did. This was Sorp’s greatest perversion. A fight.
Some would think he was itching to see the result of his training. But Sorp never trained to get stronger. He trained because it was interesting.
He was itching to fight, but he loved to fight. To see the courage drain out of his adversaries. To see them scream in agony. To see their eyes dim and their bodies keel over.
In Sorp’s hands, familiar weapons appeared. A sword and a spear. The guys took a few step back and watched Sorp’s figure. From their view, it was like a predator ready to leap.
Sorp himself was breathing very slowly, almost ceasing. His entire mind was the footsteps approaching. At this point it didn’t matter what these men wanted.
From the sound of the footsteps, Sorp felt he could differentiate seven of them. This was just half of them. But what he could do was predict how close the closest ones were.
This is significant because he wanted to strike down two or three before they understood what was happening.
Just as they were entering Sorp’s view, Sorp struck out in advance. The spear swiveled but struck true. No one stopped walking. The spear was almost inaudible, but the blood splatter was a very visual experience.
Instead of dragging the spear out of man, Sorp dematerialized it, this takes a greater toll on his B.F.M endurance than just pulling it out, but it is quick.
The sword strikes down, causing a twenty centimeter wound from the man’s shoulder and down. The hand entire hand cleanly lopped off.
The blood from this action outshines the spear’s by a factor or two. It is here that screaming begins and then the shock.
Without waiting for the hand to fall to the ground, the spear rematerialized, despite its heavy toll on Sorp. It is at this point that the ambush is registered.
Seeing Sorp’s smile and his gaze on him, the man begins stumbling back, wanting to escape or at least dodge. The swiveling spear jabs accurately, piercing the man’s heart.
There are nine whole men left standing. This is where they bring out their weapons, but they all step backwards.
“What the fuck are you doing, Sorp!?”
It is not strange that they know his name. As it turns out. Sorp had insulted them by sleeping with not one but three of their women. Or atleast what they considered their women.
These were women they knew in real life, women then had travelled here with and had some romantic feelings for.
Not only did he sleep with these women, he did so multiple times and even had them at the same time. Under this banner if injustice, these man gathered up like minded people.
Their objective was simple. They were going to overpower Sorp, kill him and his friends. They knew he’d be sent back to the city. This wasn’t good enough, but good enough for now.
“Killing.”
There was laughter in Sorp’s voice. His smile brilliant. Stains of blood made for a eerie sight. The sound of Sorp slowly walking over the puddle of blood accumulating on the ground was all they could hear.
“We’re recording this, don’t think you can get away with this!”
Seeing Sorp stop, they took it as hesitation.
“Do you even know what you’ve done!?”
“We’ll fucking kill you.”
“You know there is prison in this game!?”
But Sorp wasn’t hesitating. He was think it would be nice to have a recording of his fights. He didn’t particularly enjoy watching himself in the past, but after training he saw use in it.
“Kom, how do I record?”
Kom was used to Sorp asking for help navigating the interface. What he did was navigate to it himself and then flick the window towards Sorp.
Sorp was used to this action as well. He received a notification, which he promptly accepted, and in front of him was the option to begin recording.
“Thanks.”
As soon as he began recording, Perpetual Power’s system began working. It was already gathering data on unusual or over performing individuals.
Soon Sorp’s bloody splattered figure, his brilliant smile and wide eyes were on display on the frontpage. This was the page most prominent Perpetuity players were advertised.
The stalemate ended here. Sorp began walking towards them again. His steps deliberate, ready to leap forward or to the side.
The B.F.M. weapons were covered in blood and their light shine, shone through the thin veil of blood.
The men were slowly backing up in response to Sorp’s advancement. Five meters felt like a large enough distance to prepare for any attack.
Five meters are not outside of Sorp’s range. But he still had to travel towards them, however rapidly he did.
Instead of a full frontal assault, Sorp leaped two meters forward and restablized him. The sudden movement caused the nine men to stagger backwards. But two were still ready to strike back.
It wasn’t just wealthy men and women in these camp. They were also athletic, ambitious and perhaps even trained in some martial art or fighting technique.
There is a reason why there are weight groups. These are mostly lithe men. They are handsome and arrogant. But their expressions were now ugly.
It was the staggering that Sorp was looking for. He knew they’d be surprised by his sudden movements and hoped for exactly this chance.
Three of the men on the far right all stumbled together. One in the middle one on the far right held their stance.
Without hesitation, Sorp leapt again. His spear held back only moving forward when his right foot land on the ground. This strike wasn’t fast but hard also hard to even see.
The hand had been held back and the victim could only see the thin pointy edge of the spear. This is not easy to visualize unless confronted by the spear itself.
The man still had the presence of mind to try and block the strike. But it swung into the air. The spear hit the man, puncturing his lung. Sorp immediately pulled back his spear and resumed his previous front leaning stance.
The man had his lung punctured and was writhing on the ground, messily smearing his blood across the paved street.
Four out of twelve men were now out of commission. Two were still alive. One was screaming or moaning, his blood loss made him quieter.
Sorp retreated and stood above the man who had lost his entire hand. He reached out and put his thumb on one of his eye. The rest of his hand covered half his skull.
“Can you feel this?”
It was like an illusion, but it sounded like Sorp was laughing as he said this. What followed was a miserably scream before a sudden silence.
Sorp held onto the stem of a whole eye. But his eyes were watching the man. He was now completely still, but Sorp knew he wasn’t dead, he had passed out. But his death was certain.
